Great shop with great staff. They do more for our community than our council and mayor does.

I love that there are alternatives to candy because having diabetes makes my husband and I very tempted to and we both are naughty with sweets. But it is great to get novelty sweets and items as gifts. The store clerk offers a sample of a showcase candy item. I ate the sample! Shame on me. It was a sour / sweet combo sample being offered it was a cute heart. It is a small shop but so cute. And the store clerk was so sweet and it definitely made me want to buy more items in the future as gifts. My young son collects TY beanies and I think I will start collecting too. This store is well stocked with TY brand beanie babies.

But one time it caught my eye that they had a small chocolate truffle case by the register counter and so I was lured in to get some of these chocolates. I got the pack of nine and got a pretty decent amount as to the variety available. All of the truffles were good and they stretched a few nights after supper for a small, sweet dessert. They weren't too shabby. Perhaps not the best that I have ever came across but not bad at all. Probably my favorite one was a milk chocolate that had a coffee presence to the flavor profile. Now that was a very tasty truffle and I could have easily have gotten a package of nine with only that particular flavor. So my first purchase here was a good one and if you have kids and allow them to eat candy this would be a great place to take them as it looks like there are many different types of candy at your disposal.

Our daughter lives near the Lake Stevens, Wa Haagen's Grocery and purchased some Old Town Salted…read moreCaramels just before a visit from family last month. Knowing her mother (that's me) is a fan of caramel, she showed me the small bag explaining "they're really expensive". As they might be if homemade, these caramels are wrapped in parchment, twisted on each end and come 12 per sweet little bag for $20 (roughly). Because they're large (about 3/4"x1"x2", I had one, shared a second and the hook was thoroughly set. OMG these are exceptional. The quality is silly-good. I drove 350 miles home from our visit and looked online to learn how to get my hands on MORE. My location in remote NE Wa State proved a caramel desert so I ordered one bag of twelve and with shipping and tax the cost was $33. Yes, it was a plunk but they are worth it for a treat of such quality. I imagined sharing with friends lucky enough to drop by. The Sea Salt caramels shipped quickly and with USPS tracking info I followed their route. "They're in Kent!!" I told my husband; then "they're in Spokane!!" and when I knew the delivery was imminent I watched for Kathy our rural letter carrier. A thoughtful person, Kathy came down the 600' driveway because the parcel was marked that it should be protected from heat. I was riding the lawn tractor but raced over to catch Kathy and opened the box to offer her one. She was reluctant but I told her, "they're the best caramels I've ever eaten" so she took one and continued her route. Upon further investigation of the box I noticed a bonus package of six regular vs sea salt caramels. An unanticipated kindness. Averaging three per day I plowed through all (18-Kathy's) caramels in record time. My husband enjoyed them as much but he's a better wrangler of his own impulse control. He had two per day at most. My last day was a record FOUR. Here's the thing: I'll be seventy by year's end and am an accomplished baker and have made caramels myself. I'm not a substance abuser; am HWP and eat an organic menu. This gluttony is unusual for sure. But they're that dang good! A lesson was learned, but not the lesson one might expect. It's this: I won't bother making caramels again. Thank you Old Town Delights for such a lovely confection.
