SOO I decided to check yelp for a tattoo shop close to my house for a tattoo! My regular tattoo artist is pretty far, so I decided to contact Sara at OC Tattoo after seeing her work! Sara was super quick to respond, & I stopped by the shop 2 days after I emailed her to get a tattoo! I wanted my last name tattooed on my lower neck, but was unsure what font I wanted. I has an idea in my head, but didn't quite know how to explain it. So Sara had another guy at the shop write up my last name & it was perfect!! It also makes me happy it was original too. If you go here I do not recommend Nick. I asked him to design a tattoo for me. He said he could do it and we scheduled an appointment. He had 6 days to work on the design. On the day of I called to see if I could come in about 30 minutes early. Nick didn't even remember who I was or that I had an appointment until I reminded him about the content of the tattoo design. He said he hadn't even started to design the tattoo and wanted to reschedule our appointment. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. According to their policy, if I cancel an appointment less than 24 hours ahead of time they can charge me for it. But if they cancel on me less than 30 minutes ahead of time... they simply get to reschedule and call it square? No thank you. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I asked for a refund on my deposit and now I have to wait another two or three days because only the owner knows how to give refunds. read more

I wouldn't go here for a couple of reasons. 1) When I went there were guys just sitting outside smoking. I think this is very unprofessional. All of the other shops I have been were clean, if there were smokers they were to be out of site of any clients, this wasn't the case here. 2) My tattoo artist was Hoang. I would not recommend him. He first offered to email me my sketch. It took over 2 weeks before I got my sketch and I had to come in and see it. I wanted a little pig hidden in the tattoo, but he forgot all about it and was trying to convince me to have the pig in plain sight. I didn't want this. I wanted it hidden. Needless to say, I ended up going somewhere else. read more

this place really deserved 4.5 stars since the remodel but i guess i'm just a little bitter because my favorite artist isn't there anymore (he moved to san diego). although, he does come back from time to time to do tattoos, by appointment only. i've got 5 of my tattoos done here, all original pieces designed by Arnold. Since the remodeling it looks a lot nicer now..more zen per say. Before it did look like a little hole in the wall tat shop. They don't do anymore piercings and only tattoos. The prices are affordable. I would suggest you make an appointment because they are booked about 2 months in advance. From time to time they'll take walk-ins, but rarely. Seng also does a great job & he's really great with asian-inspired pieces and Gabe, he's more into the nautical theme. The only other shop I went to for was Inflictions in Covina for my tats and all my piercings...the prices are expensive and the artists aren't as friendly/personable and they rush you in and out cus many of their clients are walk ins and it gets packed from people who go there for piercings. ..and remember to tip your artist! "tips are terrific" whenever i need a touch up they always do it for free. read more

I got my first tattoo yesterday at OC Tattoo!! I emailed and called the morning that I wanted an appointment and made an appointment with Sara. I chose her because on their website I liked how she put examples of her writing and it showed lots of examples of her being able to do small writing and just nice, simple, clean stuff. The people were friendly, and I was nervous and they didn't pressure me. Sara was really friendly and patient with me as I was trying to decide the size of the tattoo and the exact location. She was patient and made me feel comfortable, which was great :) My tattoo was just letters that say "pran kwa ou chak jou" on my forearm.. and the font is smaller than a dime. The lettering came out nice and clear. I had a simple tattoo design and this was my first tattoo experience, so I can't compare it to many other places... but if I get a second one I'd consider going back here :) Oh yeah and it cost $60 but yeah can come within a month for free touch up. I thought it was reasonable price for a guaranteed nice tattoo :) read more

If you're looking for a tattoo artist that specializes in micro tattoo, look no more! After hours of researching, my boyfriend recommended I go to this place and ask for Sara. I was a bit hesitant because a tattoo is a forever thing, but after talking to Sara, and looking over all of her tattoo work, I made an appointment immediately. Sara is very professional, she replies back quickly when I emailed her about the tattoo I wanted. When I first walked in, I was greeted by another tattoo artist who was working in the front desk. Everyone was friendly. The tattoo shop is a very clean environment. Sara redrew my tattoo, when she was done, she disinfected her work place so that we can get started. Since it's my first tattoo, I was nervous, but she made me feel very relaxed. It was a somewhat short, and painless procedure xD After that, she gave me instructions on how to care for my tattoo. Sara also told me to come back in a month when my tattoo is healed, and she'll do a touch-up for free (since my tattoo is small, it'll fade quicker..) My tattoo was $100 flat. I'm glad I booked Sara. I called in a couple days prior to actually going in and I spoke with Sara (who actually did my tattoo) and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She immediately sketched out some ideas, for a word that I wanted to get done on my arm, and picture messaged me the same day I called. When I came in, she was very easy-going and made me feel completely at ease about getting my first tattoo. She talked me through the entire process, even educating me about some tattoo concepts. I came here back in August of 2009 and got a tattoo of a daisy flower with a bee (its a picture in my picture gallery as well). I was extremely nervous as this was my first tattoo, and I got Sara as my tattoo artist. OMG she is so awesome! She was so easy to talk to, and has really cool pictures where her work station is. Her favorite celebrity is Angelina Jolie and she was able to go to one of her her movie premiere and got a really good picture of her and was telling me about that cool story. She was very helpful during the whole proccess as far as telling me what not to do (don't peel the tattoo, slap it with lotion if it gets dry, but of course I didn't listen, stupid me :( ). I would definitely recommend Sara to anyone who's thinking about getting their first tattoo as she will make it a very easy going proccess, or as someone to go back to, as I hope to soon! read more
