I asked for the reference photo from my artist Iddy, and I still havent gotten it. I am over it. Let me share something else. Overall, every time I see my forearm I get annoyed about how bad the service ended up being, the end result of the tattoo, and just over all bummed af. Lets make things clear, I reiterated exactly what I wanted a couple times before finally booking her 100% and show up in person. To start off she was late about 45 minutes. My morning time is very important cause I sleep at 430am every night and waking up at 10am is low key a mission. I meet her, she is kind, just chatting away with friends, fine, no problem, it is what it is. BAM, finally she shows me the image of the character I want, but the problem was that the character moment, image, was something completely different from my original reference. It felt like she was just joking, but no, it was serious. So I proceed stating that, I want exactly what I showed her, MANY times. She tries telling me something like, she can't do exactly that image cause thats not sometime she made. That this is HER art as well that she wants to be proud of, etc. etc. She could have EASILY dm'd me that from the beginning ( I would have not even wasted time moving forward) Cause I know what I want and I been wanting this for A LONG WHILE. She seems to suck it up and finds a image that is KINDA like the one I want. At this point I already gave a deposit. I already set aside the time of day to do this, I already woke up and showed up. Her reference photo had the "right moment" I wanted. Zenitzu doing thunder breathing first form. but the shading of the image she found was low key trash. WHY did I think she was going to just use it as a reference and do the nice SIMPLE, lighter shading like my reference photo? THAN she places the stencil on my arm, continues to ask her coworker friends what they think, and they all say "its great!" and she says , "great I will be back" and left to go get a drink. Was this another joke? why didn't she ask me, the client, what I thought of the placement? OR better, before placing it, ask me what my thoughts were? She comes back, I stick up for myself, and I share my thoughts, and bam almost 3 hours and one adjustment later she finally begun with the first touch of ink on my skin. Almost 2pm at this point. On top of the many social interruptions throughout the session, it's now 9pm and she has another client coming in now. She tells me it'll need a second session - I am low key exhausted - hungry, so I respond SURE. Long Story Short, she tries to charge me the full quoted price again. Essentially doubling what she originally quoted, not to mention my time, drive, nor the pain of it all again. Man, I can go on and on about all this. BUT it is done. Now I have this character with horrible shading that irritates me. The worst thing is, I think she did ok in her emulating the shading, she just used a shitty reference and this could have ALL BEEN a decent experience if she just actually prepped, and did what I have asked for from DAY ONE. Yes, I honestly feel like this outcome is her fault. Yes I could have said , NO, No, No again and again. I just cant believe I had to be in that position to stick up for myself at all. I even offered her Starbucks on day one, food on her break, and tipped her like $60, which isn't a lot I guess but DAMN. Just annoyed af. Also I stopped myself from writing this review more than once, I just continue getting upset about the whole thing to many times, not to. Told him I was from NY and when he told me he was going to be in their Brooklyn location in May for a couple of weeks, I immediately made an appointment. I sent him a few pics for inspiration and when we met, I shared my story and he created the most beautiful tattoo that really spoke to me and I couldn't be happier. Got pierced here, not a fan. Yes, the piercing looks good, however the piercer, Stephany, was questionable. She struggled a lot with putting in the jewelry, especially the flat backs. I got my eyebrow pierced today with my friend and.. yikes. It took her like 40 seconds to get the needle fully out the other end after initially starting the piercing. I have a video of it that shows how much she was clearly struggling with it, then she blamed it on me having "thick skin." She also gave some questionable advice on how to heal the piercing. Will not be going back for another piercing, can't testify to the quality of the tattoos though. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars! I went in yesterday for a reverse tragus (anti-tragus) piercing, and it was one of the worst experiences I've had with body modifications. The piercer was Yuki. We initially discussed placement and jewelry, agreeing on a half "horseshoe" ring. Then, right before starting, she switched it up and said she couldn't use that--it had to be a "moon" shaped piece. That inconsistency should have been my cue to walk out, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and proceeded. She marked the spots with dots and started the piercing. When she told me to take a deep breath and pushed the needle in, it got stuck halfway. She pulled it out and then forced it back in--immediately, blood started POURING out of my ear uncontrollably. It was excessive and wouldn't stop. Yuki looked completely panicked, which only made me freak out more. I started feeling extremely lightheaded and nauseous, on the verge of fainting from the pain and the blood loss. After I applied pressure to try to stop the bleeding, she still wanted to "try" forcing the jewelry in. At that point, my ear was throbbing in agony, I was dizzy and unwell, and all I could think about was getting out of there ASAP. I refused and left without the jewelry inserted properly. This felt unprofessional from start to finish--changing plans last minute, a botched needle insertion with major bleeding, and pushing to continue when I was clearly in distress. I've had other piercings before, and nothing like this has ever happened. I won't be returning, and I strongly recommend going elsewhere for something as delicate as a cartilage piercing. Please learn from my mistake and choose a different studio. If you're in the area and considering a piercing here, think twice. Safety and competence should come first read more

Her name is Cass Hayek, and since she arrived, she was very respectful, compassionate, and energetic she made it feel very welcoming and even let me pick out some music to calm my nerves out. I've gotten multiple tattoos at this location! Extremely clean, artists are always awesome and do great work. Nigel is my go to!

Process of booking started off smooth - when they take your money, but it ended terribly. I booked a half back piece and paid their required 50% deposit. I booked 4 full session days, 2 days, back-to-back sessions, 2 weeks apart. They promised a full day to be 6-8 hours. I was told the artist is unexpectedly moving, which at first was understandable, annoying, but life happens. I was open to their accommodations, until they presented me their solutions: -offered to do my FOUR full day sessions squished into TWO days, which means two 12-16 hour days back-to-back OR me getting ripped off and not getting the four full sessions I paid for. -offered other artists that did not amount to the artist I chose, did not have experience in bigger pieces, and some were not even part of the SDT family. Finally I told them I wanted a refund because their accommodations were going no where. They took out all the excitement I had for this piece with the SDT family. After a text saying they would send the request to management, I did not hear anything back for TWO FULL DAYS - 48 hours. I texted and was ignored. At this point I feel scammed. I text 3 times looking for an update. Finally, after the two days of nothing, I start getting responses. They continually send responses about my refund pending management and approval. Many unsatisfied texts and four business days later I get a text saying it's been approved and they request my Venmo. I sent my Venmo. Then they say sorry, Venmo not working, can I get Paypal and they'll send "right now". I send PayPal acct. I receive nothing, so I follow up 3 hours later and they say they have to reach out to accounting. I have not received my refund and I have been scammed. Thankfully I used a credit card with protection, instead of my bank account because that is the route I will have to take to get my money back. This place is a scam. Don't give them your money and don't give them your business. Read the text messages. See the scamming. I left out the texts with the options given for other artists. Even though they're not for me, doesn't mean they're not for others. read more

My husband wanted to finish his sleeve. He did months of research when it came to finding the perfect tattoo artist to work on it. He came across Dre from Skin Design Tattoo. He immediately contacted the shop and after their consultation, booked an appointment. Everyone at the place was extremely personable and professional. Dre asked my husband what he wanted, made a great design and tattooed him in no time. His total time was about 6 hours under the needle and 1 hr prep beforehand. Dre was fantastic. I just went in today for a tattoo as a walk-in, and it started off smoothly until the end. Joe, the tattoo artist finished my tattoo, and I did not like how the top looked and I kept asking everyone's opinion on the top of the tattoo, but everyone said it looked fine. Me and my sister, and everyone I asked that I knew who gets tattoos said it needs some more detail, So I went back in and asked the guys if I should get more shading or thicker lines and the first guy said to wait a week and think about it but why would I do that and have to come back and pay more money? So then we asked the original tattoo artist Joe and he said it didn't need anything else but I wanted it to be right so I asked him if I could just get the shading done but then he says it's going to be another $60 when I already paid $160 for this small tattoo. When I asked other people and tattoo artists about the price, they said I was overcharged. This whole thing just did not make me feel like I got the experience I should have and it almost makes me resent my tattoo which is a horrible feeling because I've been wanting this forever and it's stuck with me forever now. I do think he did a great job, but all of the run around and overcharging was ridiculous. I posted what it looked like before the shading and after. I will not be going here ever again. read more

I have been looking around for a nice quality tattoo, a good artist, and a nice tattoo parlor. After looking around for a year I decided to go with this place. I follow them on social media and love the art work from all the different artists. I was excited to check them out and had high expectations. When I made the appointment I was asked to send a picture of what I wanted, where I wanted it, and how big. After this information I was asked to put a deposit. I was also given a few time frames to chose from. I ended up choosing a 12:00pm appointment on a Friday. Well I got there at 12:00pm and waited till 12:10pm for someone to open up the shop. I didn't mind this since it's only 10 minutes. Turns out the guy that opened the shop was not the artist and said that the artist was running a little late. Again I understand that life happens and we may run late sometimes. The guy then proceeds to ask me where I was getting my tattoo, what was I getting and if I could send the image to him. At this point I was confused because it seemed like there was no communication between the employees. So I had to give him all the information again. Now an hour and 30 minutes have gone by and the artist just showed up. He apologized but he was extremely late. He then engaged in a conversation with the guy who opened the shop and talked about how he went out the night before and woke up at 12:00pm. I would have left but I put down a deposit and drove for over an hour. It gets worse... The artist gets here and I expected him to start working on my tattoo but instead he goes and gets food and eats for another 30 minutes. I was very disappointed and livid by this point. The professionalism was definitely not there. Here I am waiting for two hours, waisting my day and time! During my tattoo, which is a small piece and would have only taken an hour to do, ended up taking much longer. He took two 15 minute breaks to get something to drink. I would expect the breaks if I was getting a large piece done but this was not the case. I would not recommend this place read more

I was originally scheduled with the most amazing Sage! But by sheer accident, literally a hand accident, Dre took over for her. Holy S*it! Let me just say I was an scorching bitch to Dre. He took it all in stride and kept cool under my outrageous demands. I literally hate myself for how rude I was. And it was demands for more tattoos! He was just incredible in every single way. If you're looking for attention to detail, a pretty painless experience, and tattoos that will only get better with time, go to Dre. Seriously. I asked my friend who came with me how long we had been there. "Maybe 3-4 hours?" He says "More like 10-12!" I hated portraits. They never conveyed the photo or were just horrible looking. Dre totally changed my mind! Now I want a portrait!!! But seriously. Scheduling can be funky. Prepare for changes. But I would never hold that against Dre. He is a true artist. My first apt I sat waiting for almost 45 min for him to get here then another hour while he got set up......this time I show up on time and I'm told maybe 15 to 20 min hell be here because of traffic.
