My mom was so nervous coming in as she was concerned about the pain as shes never had a tattoo before and also has anxiety, Sandra and the tattoo artist Lucy were so accommodating and supportive of my mom. They made sure she was comfortable with every step before proceeding with the process and took the time to explain every aspect of the process as well. The tattoo my mom got was a combination of my brother and my fingerprints inside of a heart shaped tree and it was very detailed. The level of talent Lucy has is incredible!! My mom was also indecisive and they both spent time to make sure they gave her exactly what she wanted. Lo and behold my mom now wants to come back to get a second one when she's ready for that. I cannot rave enough about David Bautista - He did two of my tattoos and I'm prob due for another one from him soon. He is extremely talented and his specialty is realism. That does not mean he is limited to just that style though. For my first tattoo, he completed center of my sunflower by doing a meticulous gem cut with so much dimension. His attention to detail was amazing and it has gotten me so many compliments the last 4 years, even up to this day. I will probably circle back with a photo in the near future - my t-rex arms can't really take a proper photo of my own shoulder. My second tattoo from him was a large back piece - see attached photo for reference. I appreciate him so much as an artist and human being. He is a fair person and did not charge me until the work started, despite having spent hours in advance stenciling and piecing together my large back piece. I had a general idea of what I wanted, but wasn't sure what flowers I wanted to use. I had basically taken a bunch of photos from the internet and he had analyzed such photos, and provided his insight to create the perfect overall tattoo. The x-rays of flowers that he did on my back required a lot of shading and a light hand - he executed the work efficiently and well and this tattoo alone gets me so much attention. He takes constructive criticism well and is able to take a step back to revise his work accordingly based on your feedback. I had been hesitant about the initial flower leaves, but he was gracious with all of my concerns; he just continued to freehand additional styles of leaves until we found the right fit. This tattoo is for my artist, Ruth. First of all, I would like to stress that (for me, at least) having a good relationship with your artist is important. I'm not hardcore by any means and tattoos can be intimidating. For my first tattoo, I wanted to start small because my parents were going to kill me if they ever found out. Because I'm a huge Disney fan, I wanted a "hidden mickey" basically made to look like the rest of my freckles. Ruth mixed the perfect color to match and to this day people are so surprised that it's a tattoo. Of course because if was my first, I freaked out when I heard the needle vibrate and Ruth told me that I didn't have to do anything that I didn't want to do, but that if I wanted to proceed she was going to be there for me every step of the way. Honestly, that spoke volumes for me because she's not here to judge me and that made me a customer for my next 2 tattoos because you know... the first one is always a gateway. Again, with my obsessions with Disney we decided on the Disney castle and a quote from Cinderella, but because I like things to be more subtle, we did it in white ink. I always get compliments on it and people always exclaim, "I didn't even know that was possible!" I've even converted people who proclaim to be "extremely conservative" or "really corporate" and sent them her way because the white ink is so subtle. David was extremely clean, professional, efficient, and most importantly, his work is ridiculously clean. I have over 50 hours of work on my body, but his line of script that is about 6 inches long is the cleanest work on the entirety of my body. I came here in December to get a couple tattoos done. I have to say, it was the BEST tattoo experience I have ever had (and I have had a few various ones). Ruth was very patient and her work was phenomenal. She got to know me, what my style was, and gave me a tattoo better than what I could have imagined. Ruth Bautista is one of the best tattoo artists I know! I've had 3 artists do my tattoos in the past and Ruth is by far the best in quality of art and customer service by a long shot. I have gotten 3 pieces done by her and Im currently working on doing a sleeve with her! During my process of being at her shop, the atmosphere was professional, the artists wore masks, and everything was sanitized properly. I felt so safe. Ruth is warm, kind and sweet and she gave me so so much patience (I'm extremely indecisive) and did not rush me at all when creating ideas of my sleeve. She took my ideas and made a masterpiece of it. She also talked to me the whole way through (6 hours!) which got my mind off of the needle. She has a light hand so it actually didn't hurt too much either. I would highly highly recommend her for your next piece.
