I did need to cancel my original appointment early the morning a day prior due to being ill with GG, and I was informed I would need to place another deposit. I agreed and specifically asked whether that additional deposit would apply toward the tattoo, and I was told that it would. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told it did not apply and that this had been communicated via text. After reviewing the messages, I did not see that clarification reflected. I did not argue because I respected her and complied. I also want to note that I was not made aware of any written shop policy regarding deposits in this situation. Based on the wording of the conversation, it came across that the additional deposit was for accountability due to the late cancellation, rather than that the original deposit would no longer count toward the tattoo. It's also worth mentioning that policy isn't anywhere nor was communicated to me. During the session, the artist stopped partway through because she wasn't feeling well, which I completely understand and respect. However, once the tattoo healed (it has now been over a month), I noticed visible shakiness in the linework, inconsistent line weight, and areas of blowout that were not apparent initially. I want to be clear that I genuinely love the tattoo concept itself, my concern is specifically with the execution. I paid a significant amount for the piece, and while I am not seeking a refund, as nice as that'd be, I was disappointed by the technical quality of the finished linework. Especially receiving a tattoo from this artist before and it being absoloutely amazing. So trust was broken there as well. As it healed I didn't really notice at first how poorly done it was. So later, when I reached out to book my next tattoo, I did not receive a response and noticed I was blocked from viewing the artist's stories, which made the lack of communication feel exclusionary and unprofessional. My intention in this review isn't to place blame, but to ask for acknowledgment. I value transparency, especially with permanent work. I paid quite a bit for very very poorly done healed work. It ended up being over $250+.

Great communication and a lot of patience with me. He was all smile and laughter which made my nervousness went away. I'm all about the vibes and something that was important with me was the vibe between the tattoo artist and I. Since I didn't get to have a face to face consultation but rather via dm, I'm really glad our first impression was positive. With that said, we made plans for future tatts and I'm excited.

I can tell your pics on insta are not your shop's work as the camera quality, and art are incredibly inconsistent. The line work is so clean, the colors are soft but vibrant, and the whole thing somehow looks delicate and badass at the same time. It healed beautifully and still looks like a literal piece of art. I get compliments constantly. Dan is also chill, talented, and makes the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. Because he was a new artist (apprentice I believe), I liked how he got other artists to check out his work and listened to things that were pointed out for fill or more ink on our tattoos. He did a great job in our tattoos. My boyfriend and I were happy with the results. This studio had such a chill vibe. The other artists were were friendly and while I was getting tatted, my boyfriend walked around and they were chill with talking to him and letting him check out their work.

I told the artist what I wanted and he initially insisted he couldn't do the size or design. I next asked for a basic gradient of color and showed him a photo for reference. Unfortunately, I ended up with these blocks of color. As he was working, I asked that he ensure the color blended and he said as it healed it would..? He knew we traveled up from San Diego, and said he'd do a free touch up if we came back again and to text him. I even tipped the guy 40% hoping that he would put more effort into the next round. Unfortunately a week after I sent the text message, he responded to say he'd "work on it" and just never got back to me again. Fortunately, my husband's tattoo came out exactly as expected, so I'm making sure to average my star rating based on both designs and executions.
