AP Driving School was very responsive at getting back to me and answering my questions. Their prices were overall very reasonable. I suggest reaching out via text message before paying to make sure he has the availability you're looking for. Lance is very organized and it has an excellent scheduling system. You will get reminders through text and he will always be on time for lessons or your DMV appointment. He respects you, your money, and your time. He is flexible as long as you communicate with time. 1 hour behind the wheel test prep: He will give you the DMV examiner experience, meaning he will be VERY strict and COLD BLOODED for real, (I even told him that lol) If you have ever been at the DMV you can tell how sad and mean this people are. Well, Lance will show you how to control your nerves and focus on the importance of driving safely and listening actively. So don't take it personally, for the ones that said he was mean, I would say he's very straightforward, he wants you to follow the rules and you have to go out of your comfort zone and trust his teaching method. He gave me feedback after the lesson, it was mostly learning how to control my nervousness and don't anticipate the examiner's instructions. Other than that he said my driving was fine. :) DMV test day package: He picked me up on time and let me drive to the DMV, again, her reminded me about actively listening to the instructions and the importance of understanding the psychology of the test to pass. Lance being this strict helped me to be more calm because when the examiner approached us, I was prepared to not let the examiner's cold-blooded unemotional detached attitude affect me. Result: I passed the test with few errors and then we drove back to the pickup spot. Today recommended! Thanks, Lance, I wish you the best!

The instructors were very patient with her as she learned the car and rules of the road. It's very important to find a trustworthy driving academy. From purchasing the sessions, to scheduling the sessions, and to scheduling the CA DMV test, it was such an easy process. Our daughter really felt at ease and comfortable with instructors Catherine Steveley and Dan Younger. They really understand how to instruct/connect with a new youth driver. Thank you! Today, our daughter took her CA DMV driver's test and SHE PASSED THE TEST!!! Thank you to everyone at VDA!!! We will go through VDA when our son is eligible.

When Bob came to our house for my son's first lesson he was kind and knowledgeable, letting us know what to expect. My son had a great experience and at the end Bob spoke with us and gave us things to work on with him. All three lessons were amazing, he even gave us tips and tricks for the test and suggested which DMV to go to. Our son passed with flying colors and has a great driving record (he has been driving for 3 years). I am writing this a few years later because we moved away from Irvine and had to find another company for our daughter. Her experience was not as good and we did not feel that she was ready to be driving on her own even after that company signed off on it. I immediately called Varsity and they found her a time to work with Bob and we drove down to Irvine for it. In just two hours he taught her so much, he went through everything and corrected her previous instruction. She is a much more confident and safer driver because of him. She passed her test two days after the lesson. Thank you Varsity and Bob!

Driving…read moreon the Cali freeway is in a separate class by itself especially if you hate speeding like me. Long story short- I recently got my DL so I'm not the most experienced driver in the world. I know most think driving is a breeze but I take it very seriously. After much deliberation I selected Safety First based on reviews. My first class was this past Saturday and after meeting Kurt I knew I made the best decision. Kurt was my driving instructor. He showed up 10 minutes before the scheduled class which I appreciated and he greeted me with utmost professionalism. I'm usually a nervous wreck while driving but this guy made me feel calm and confident and pretty soon I was actually driving safely on the freeway. He is a skilled instructor with lots of patience and he takes notes on items that need improvement. I felt very safe. This entire process from the registration with Sam (the manager) to the scheduling of classes was a seamless experience. Classes are booked in advance so you may need to spread your lessons over a few weeks which is fine. Practicing between classes is key to making driving techniques perfect. I have 2 more classes left but I'm confident that I will be a much more capable driver at the end. Thanks Safety First!
