dont come here if you want to enjoy driving, my instructor lana made me very uncomfortable and gave me anxiety while driving. When i first got in the car on my first day of driving she had me point to all the things in the car (blinkers, headlights, ect.) i accidentally turned the headlights switch on instead of off she immediately got frustrated and said "i said off what are you doing, you dont know how to read?" another ccomment was "you look so skinny, do you ever eat?" she had said something along the lines of that about 3x . In no way is this her fault but her accent can make it very challenging to understand what she is saying, i would ask her to repeat herself and she was breathe heavy and say it again in a very rude way. if i made a mistake she would grab the wheel and just tell me what i did wrong and not tell me how to fix it. it was also very scary when she would grab the wheel because i felt at times it wasn't necessary, i was making a left turn and she grabbed my wheel mid turn which made the person behind us honk so she says, " see, you made them honk at you" even tho she was "in control" of the steering wheel. I also found it odd that she would speak on her othet students driving to me, saying their name and telling me how awful they were. The first day of getting ready to do my driving lesson i was exited but after the first drive with her i felt very nervous and a lot of pressure to not make any mistake and to listen very closely so i would not ask her to repeat herself. read more

My experience at this school was very negative. My instructor, Lana, gossiped about other students and gossiped to my family member (who was another one of her students) about how I was doing in the course. She talked to me about her ex-husband and their issues and other personal issues, and out of nervousness about my driving and my age at the time, I would only listen to these stories. She didn't explain anything to me and would yell at me whenever I would make a mistake. I found these conditions to be unprofessional and caused me more anxiety about driving than I initially had upon entering the course. It was a horrible experience. I did get my license with training at another school. I wonder if I just got the instructor on an off month or something, but it was a horrible experience and truly a waste of money. read more

Through taking the Behind the Wheel course with instructor Lana at All American Driving School, i was able to fully prepare myself for the driving test. From the hand signals, to buttons in the car, to learning how to use the brakes, I learned it all. I came to All American Driving School after having it recommended to me by a friend who also went to the school. I am unsure what all the other reviews are talking about, but all I have to say is most of these negative comments call out Lana's deep accent which automatically makes me question if some of you guys are just plain racist....anywho... The truth is driving is stressful and I could tell all instructors just wanted the best for me as a student and all my friends who went here said the same thing. Yes, the instructors may be strict but that allowed me and everyone I know who went here to get outstanding driving test results between -1 and -5!!! Awful, simply awful... Booked an appointment. Told them exactly where we live. We're given dates and times when they would arrive. Called to find out when they would get to our home for pick up...since it was 20 mins past pick up. Was informed that we are "out of their territory" and that they had left a message with this information. They left it on some number that is not ours, even though they had both our numbers and had called us before. Wasted an entire day that was scheduled around this exciting first driving lesson for our daughter. What a sloppy job and careless company and service. Awful, simply awful... I am 16 years old and I went in for my mandatory 6 hours and let me say how amazing they were. Lana was my instructor and she was very helpful and patient with me. She was on time always and her hours were flexible. The pricing is very affordable especially if you go to the neighboring high schools. Might I add I got them done within 1 week. Seriously? Why does this place only have a one star rating? It's an awesome school! They taught me how to drive a couple of months ago and I passed my DMV test the first time. The classes were fun and Martin always kept my attention. They didn't even charge me extra when I had to cancel my behind the wheel appointment the last minute. These guys get 5 stars from me. I have no experience with the in-class driver's education here, I've only done the behind-the-wheel training with Lana. This driving school seemed most ideal at the time because my family was tight with money. Big mistake. My experience taking the behind-the-wheel course was horrible and it made me completely dread driving. This review is completed based on my experience and I am not making any of this up. It was the first time being behind the wheel in my life, and like any normal person, I was very nervous. Despite Lana's (the driving instructor) deep accent, she was very rude and demanding. Whenever I'd make a mistake, she would yell at me and asks me why I did what I did. Every lesson left me feeling very distraught and self-conscious. Not only that, during the lesson, she would make calls to other customers to schedule appointments, etc. If it were a few times, I wouldn't mind because the driving school does seem like a small business, but her calls were constant and ongoing during the lessons. Also, when other drivers would drive recklessly or make a mistake, she would come over to the steering wheel and honk, and go on to shout out the window. Whenever I'd asks her questions about driving, she would answer them sarcastically like it was common sense. Generally, Lana would scold me if I had made mistakes that I wasn't completely aware of before hand, and whenever I'd asks her to repeat what she had said she would raise her voice. It was like she was testing me on my driving skills, which was very minimalistic obviously. I know some may wonder by now, why didn't my mom just take me out of the school from the beginning? Well when you register for the driving lessons and start, the school actually makes you pay in advance with a cashier's check. For a cashier's check, the refund process is very long and complicated. So withdrawing me from the school was basically not an option since I had already started. Once I completed the driving lessons, I felt like I didn't learn anything. The lessons only gave me the experience and exposure of driving on local roads. My mom and I agree that the lessons weren't to truly teach people how to drive properly, it was just so the school could get their profit. For those thinking of enrolling for behind-the-wheel training for this school, save your money, and go to another quality driving school. Some people may just say I'm a bad driver. Well to update everybody, I took another set of driving lessons from another driving school, which was very efficient and passionate in their teaching. It's my first review of Yelp ever. Extremly Horrible customer service and system, do not come if you want driver ed, their system totally mess up, serviced like a piece of shit, putting idiot as a staff to communicate with you. I was getting my online education certification,I call them and it was a woman that has big Spanish accent while she was talking, and I don't know what she was talking sometimes. I have been patient on her and she said text her individually to provide my information, after one day we had a call again, she said she tried to come to my apartment to give me my certification and called me but I never get any call during the day, (she might be lying,just doesn't make sense). Also I can't barely understand what did she say, so I text her politely again to confirm : is she sending by the mail or what, unfortunately I didn't get any reply anymore. Obviously I called her, it was a day after while I still didn't get reply. In the call she got mad and being rude on me and said " stop , you don't have to call me million of times and text me million of time , it has been done ,I'm tired on you etc"and end the call rudely.just shock. LMAO are you kidding me? I have got no confirmation thought email, the staff use a suck accent to communicate with you,just like a English teacher guess for what the hell does this Mexican kid speak ,and I even need to text the staff politely, it's just like I'm bothering for the thing I have paid lol. I too had an unacceptable phone conversation with the lady on the phone. She started by asking me where my daughter attended school. After telling her she quoted me a much higher price than my sister paid a year ago, but said the package included pick up at school. Her first available pick up was at 5 on Friday. So she would need to be picked up at home. The next available time was the following Friday at 3:30. When I mentioned this pick up would be at school, since I couldn't even have her home by 3:30, her response was know because the instructor didn't know where her school was. Which made no sense if the original selling pitch was they had a special which included pick up at school. read more

Great Driving School. Best price in OC plus as far as I know probably the funniest driving instructor in OC (Mr. Martin). I have no clue what stephens talking about, but I had a great time. BTW Stephen, I agree with shelley, these guys are in Anaheim so I'm sure too that they don't take their students all the way out to San Fran or LA. Also What I notice on yelp is that a lot of people like me who had a great experience just go home and tell their friends. This place is absolutely un-professional. I had asked to reschedule an appointment due to serious personal reasons and not only did Lana yell at me but she then began to call me such words. She then began to threaten adding more charges. She is very very rude. And behind the wheel w/ her is absolutely chaotic. It was my first time driving on main roads and she kept yelling at me. And when others around me were driving recklessly she would yell at me. She also would take the steering wheel and yank it and cause me anxiety. She also would take phone calls while "teached" me how to drive. She also was very bad at navigation. All in all I regret coming here. There are plenty of better driving schools. Also I didn't really learn anything from the clasd and ended up failing after taking my permit test. I had to go onto many different websites and etc. to find the right information. I took the online course at this school. Once I finished I needed the school to send me my certificate in order to take the written test at the DMV. It should have taken 1 week through mail and instead took one month. I called the office to let them know and the person on the phone was extremely rude. She said I threw it away and I'd need to pay for them to send me another one. I brought up the possibility of them sending it to the wrong address and she said no. She continued to accuse me of losing it. After, they sent another and I still didn't receive it. The next time I went in person to pick it up only to find that they had been writing my address wrong. The classes were good, from what my daughter tells me, and she likes her driving instructor, but the woman who runs the place is an arrogant, difficult bitch who thinks she's doing you a favor! I now have to pay someone else to teach my daughter to drive on the freeway, and take this company to small claims court to get my money back. I would not recommend this driving school to anyone. I wish I could give 0 stars. Let me start off by saying when someone takes driving lessons, it's usually because they don't know how to drive. Lana is very rude and criticizes more than she actually tries to help you improve driving. She has a heavy accent which makes it hard to understand what she wants you to do but she gets frustrated when you don't understand her. She expects you to do things perfectly every time or she goes off on rants about how you keep doing the same mistake and you're going to fail. She also is constantly on her phone. She kept telling me I did worse on my second day of instruction than the first, but that was because she made me so nervous and insecure. Driving instructors are supposed to make you feel comfortable and understand that they're teaching you because you don't know anything. Now I keep seeing great reviews about Martin, the other instructor who's also her husband, but I didn't even have a choice on who I would have for instruction. She also decided to tell me that her husband is cheating on her, which made me very uncomfortable and might be some of the reason she so angry and impatient. I suggest to divorce soon or stop cheating or you're going to be out of business soon. I had one more day left but I didn't even want to go because of how much anxiety I had. Point #1 The Pricing is Amazing I called many different schools and they were way too expensive.To top it off I GOT A STUDENT DISCOUNT!!!.. There was about 15 people in my class and the teacher actually made sure we each understood everything and he was funny so it made the class much fun. I have never posted a review on Yelp but feel compelled to after my experience this morning with All American Driving School. A friend of mine recommended them for my child's behind the wheel training so I called. I have never been treated so rudely on the phone. The lady making my appointment asked for a phone number and I gave her mine. She then asked for my daughter's and I told her there was no reason for me to give it to her - I would be the one paying for the lessons and making the appointments. She pushed and pushed for the number while I tried (politely but firmly) to let her know my daughter is in high school during the day and there is no reason she needs to contact her directly. After about 3 minutes of this SHE HUNG UP ON ME! I must have sat there with my mouth hanging open for about 45 seconds! Needless to say I will not be letting these people teach my daughter to drive but I will be letting ALL my friends with soon-to-be-driving teens know to steer clear of All American! Unreal! read more
