Very smooth process overall. Signup was quick/straightforward. Definitely better to plan ahead because time slots fill up fast. I really liked the flexibility & convenience. My teen was able to start at home and then finish the lesson at his high school. It definitely made things easier on me. He worked with Anthony, who was very helpful. I am going to be honest, I don't understand how the rating is so high. My daughter completed her three lessons and wasn't given even close to the same instruction that my son was given by another company. Her first two lessons were ok, but she wasn't taught anything for the driving test. Her last lesson was absolutely horrible, the instructor was texting and making phone calls the entire time. My daughter felt ignored and was nervous because she didn't know where to go or what to do half of the time. I reached out to Kanor before writing this, hoping that maybe they would give us a make up session, but they replied with that they would look into it. I am very upset, these are our kids' lives as well as everyone's that shares the road with them. For $100/hr, I at least expect the instructor's undivided attention. We just paid Varsity for an extra lesson and they said that a lot of the tools students need to pass the test were not taught to our daughter - basic things like backing up along a curb. Between driving with us and the extra out of pocket lesson with another company, I think she will be safe. Maybe if we hadn't had such a great experience with another company for my son we wouldn't realize what our daughter missed out on. read more

Daughter had behind the wheel instructions, which were fine. The instructor forgot to bring the completed certificate to the last lesson and said it would be mailed. After not receiving it for over a week, I had to call and ask for it. They finally mailed it-- my daughter did not look at it closely...took it to the DMV on the day of her test only to her shock, find out that it wasn't filled out at all! They mailed her an unfilled out certificate! She had to leave the DMV disappointed. I called the school and the staff first said I had to drive down to get the certificate-- or it would take 5-10 biz days to mail out! We live in the next city?! I finally spoke to the manager and she said she could get it out in the mail today. Company and instructors are okay-- just make sure you get what you need (pink and yellow slips) and its filled out correctly so you don't waste your time at the DMV. read more

I highly recommend LaShon, she was very detailed with instructions, she was very clear and helped me become confident with driving especially since I get very sweaty and unsure, and very anxious when driving. Late to post this, but I got my license on the first try in March thanks to Kanor Driving School. I had a really bad experience with a diff driving instructor years ago that completely scared me away from driving, let alone getting my license. But, a job change forced me to lock in and ultimately I felt ready to take the leap. I spent a long time researching driving schools, and this seemed to be the best one in the area so I decided to work with them. Everyone was great from the start, I initially overbooked and put myself down for 10 lessons but after reading reviews, opted to reduce it to 5. I called the front and asked about getting it changed, and she was super helpful about applying it as a credit to my account. I was then able to use that credit to use one of their cars for my driving test and get a lesson beforehand. I worked with a few different instructors due to scheduling difficulties, and I will say the best one for me was Mike. He was super positive and encouraging, and I felt really comfortable with him. One complaint I would have is I did work with Augusto the day of my test, and I think we just didn't gel well together. I was already anxious and unfortunately the way he teaches made me feel MORE nervous. He ultimately ended things off by saying he "wasn't sure if I would pass" - but I did so that's done. My only initial shock was the price for teenage driving lessons...for 6 hours required by the DMV I was out nearly $500. I took a driving Assessment at Hoag. I liked my original occupational therapist for driving and Jeremy from Kanor, who also assessed my driving at Hoag. Once I finally started at Konar, Jeremy was unavailable. The driving was good practice; however, high prices. The front desk scheduler, Annie, is very friendly and professional. She always called me back right away if I had any questions or concerns. The positive thing is you could pay as you go. I ended up having Antonio as my instructor. In the beginning, he was patient and friendly. I don't think he has proper training to handle someone with a brain injury. He wasn't always clear with instructions. Also, I felt like he applied uneasy pressure during our driving sessions. I understand he was trying to create scenarios for the event when I would start driving by myself. However, Driving should be calm and professional. I only recommend taking a few classes first and then going with an instructor you enjoy. He did have valuable notes and knew his driving laws and some helpful tips. He was sometimes harmful in his coaching. By saying I wasn't making any improvement instead of giving me positive feedback. I didn't feel encouraged. I ended up cutting the classes short. Though I received my certificate. I probably still need more practice. My certificate contained spelling errors and improper grammar. It was positive that I was able to practice driving again. read more

My child took this online class for preparation for her permit test. Some of the information on their class did not align with the DMV information. Also, they gave me a document showing me what I need when I go to the DMV to get her permit, and the document was out dated. The price on their document was much lower than the price now. I hired Kanor Driving School to help teach me the proper way to drive and to help me gain my confidence behind the wheel. They have their own vehicles for you to practice in with pickup and drop off from your home. I had 5 lessons total. First 3 was with Pam. She was very patient and thorough in showing me all the things I would be tested in for the behind the wheel test. She also pointed out my mistakes in a professional way. My last 2 lessons and drive test were with Ian. Ian was very good and keeping my driving anxiety low and helped me be more confident. He also pointed out any mistakes politely. He was diligent in showing me my blind spots by getting out of the car and physically showing me examples and possible scenarios. The day of my driving test, Ian and I went over all the things that would be covered and practiced driving around the DMV area. In the end, I passed my driving test with ZERO errors! This is an extremely long overdue review, but to this day, I am extremely grateful to the staff at Kanor. I always recommend Kanor to my friends who are looking for behind-the-wheel lessons (that aren't with their parents- iykyk). It was a bit pricey for the driving lessons and to have Kanor schedule my DMV test appointment (two separate prices), but it was worth it! The instructor I had was patient with me. They knew how to professionally address my driving habits that needed adjusting. If I had any questions or driving concerns I wanted to address (i.e. who has the right of way at a four-way stop or can we practice a bit more on the freeway), they helped me. There was one lesson where I brought a list of things I wanted to improve on and the whole lesson we worked on whatever was on the list. Ultimately, Kanor helped me feel confident about driving.
