I took a pair of Oakley Carbon Plate glasses in to have them coated. I was skeptical that they could get them done without scratching the lenses. When I picked them up I was beyond pleased. I forget where I picked up a card for OC Custom Coatings, but I'm really glad I did. After looking through the gallery on their website I decided to take a Glock 17 I had just bought down to have it cerakoted. This was a leap of faith and I had not even fired the gun yet. I'm not big on "fancying up" guns as I'm fairly practical about mine. This was the first gun I have had cerakoted. Matt helped me when I arrived and was obviously very knowledgeable. He knew his job and he knew guns. A great combo! I went with a tri-color scheme as you can see in the photo I attached. They did an excellent job with it. The finish matches up where the different colors meet at the junction between the slide and the frame. They also cerakoted the magazine baseplates and alternate back straps. I couldn't be more pleased with the work they did unless the did it for free! I will definitely go back to OC Custom Coatings for any other cerakoting beed Update: I now have about 600 rounds through the gun and it ran flawlessly. This place is GREAT and Will is the BEST!!! My Browning wasn't working and I thought that the firing pin might be damaged. Will quoted me a price, I left it there but was told that I would need to bring in a magazine so they could test it out. A couple of days later I brought the magazine back only to find out that my gun was finished! Apparently one of the guys there had one that fit. Will took it apart, cleaned it and tightened everything up which seemed to be the only problem. Better yet I was charged LESS than the original quote. These guys do high quality work. Dennis and his staff were very helpful in describing the cerakote process and how to care for the finish. I had them do a satin aluminum finish on my Glock 19 slide. The result was better than expected and the price was reasonable. Turn around time was 2 weeks even with the holiday season in full effect. So I cannot review on their product quality as I did not get to that point. I was referred to this spot by partners at work and although I'm gun "savy" when it comes to coating jobs im a newbie. If you dont know the proper verbiage (which I warned the guy I didn't when I called that I didn't know the verbiage) their pretty rude. I told him I wanted "chrome plating" and he was very direct saying we don't do plating here to which I responded "well maybe I got the verbiage wrong I saw you guys can put plating on guns" he said "guns? No We don't do plating" (even though their website clearly shows they do guns he proceeded to keep being unhelpful in what I was trying to get done. Pretty frustrating on my end because all he had to do was just work with me on the verbiage but that's my fault too maybe but as a company you shouldn't be so quick to just send them away but that's just an opinion of mine. I would not recommend this place but that's purely on my customer service experience. read more

I checked out their store on the recommendation of a family member. On my first trip i was greeted by Matt who showed me some examples of their services and was genuinely helpful. I was so impressed with their work that i decided to have them cerekote my knife (SOG Flashback) right then and there. Matt said they would just pull the bodyshield off and then coat that (after I identified what sections i wanted coated). About a week later I checked in and Matt and he mentioned that they could not remove the bodyshield without a proprietary tool from SOG, but they had masked off the entire knife by hand and would then coat it. At that point I knew I had given them a very difficult project as the SOG has a lot of bumps and crannies that would be a pain to mask off. When I picked up my knife I was genuinely impressed with the result. The bright silver aluminium body is now a deep burnt bronze and there are very few areas where the coating missed. Again, being unable to remove the shield, I was concerned with what results I might get, but I can say their workmanship was amazing. Matt and Will met me and discussed what they did and how they did the work. I was impressed with their level of customer service. If you need anything cerekoted, I would highly recommend OC Custom Coating and I plan to take more items to them in the near future. read more

I came here for the first time about a couple months ago after seeing this place on Yelp. I needed a slide refinished with cerakote. I worked with a guy named Matt. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. His customer service skills are the best. In the showroom, they had many examples of colors used on actual products. That helped me determine the color. I chose graphite black. After about a couple of weeks, my slide was ready, ahead of schedule. The results were outstanding. They also installed my new sights at no additional cost. Came here for an consultation from feedback from a Facebook group. I've been told it's relatively easy to build an AR-style rifle (and since the current political climate in California is increasingly anti 2nd Amendment), I've been sourcing tools, parts and other services for an AR build and heard the praises of Cerakote. Spent about twenty minutes talking (to I'm thinking the owner) about color samples I've seen on their website but wanted to see actually color swatches and samples in person. They have Glock slides, AR lowers, knives, what appeared to be a Mandolorian helmet in the display case. He ran down a basic price list and turnaround times (a month out as of this post). As the AR will most likely be a long-term project, I'll probably have them do something else, like refinish a shotgun (like the parkerized grey color, but it's not a great coating). Top tip: When exiting the 91 East, take the Kraemer exit, right on La Palma and enter the second driveway past the Carl's Jr. Don't make the rookie move I made (exiting Glassell). read more

I'm glad I found this place... I think. My wife might disagree. In the short time sine I've discovered them I've already done 5 projects with them on multiple pistols and a shotgun. Some were simple 1 color coating jobs, and others more extensive patterns or aging effects, including some custom machining. They have done a great job on everything, and quite honestly, I find myself thinking about my next purchase more in the context of what I might do to customize it. I'm picking up my new shotgun today! It actually saw the OCCC shop before it even saw a range. The guys are patient and helpful with great ideas, and knowledge of what works well, and what doesn't.
