They do solid work!!! Kelly runs a great shop, super helpful staff!! They powder coated my raptor skid plate and was timely.

Larry and Kelly know I can't leave a project car alone for very long. They've had a hand in just about everything I've built over the years from coating pistons, to ceramic coating headers, downpipes, exhausts, and powder coating all my chassis bracing, suspension parts, to multiple sets of wheels. These gents are great to work with. They've got plenty of sample pieces you can look at in person but if you have an idea of what color you're looking for but aren't narrowed down to a specific shade/tone/metallic flake/tint, getting a few samples from Prismatic Powders may be helpful prior to going there. You'll definitely want to see colors in person, in the shade and in sunlight, because online pics aren't truly representative. read more

Specialized Coatings - Powder Coating Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

Best powdercoating hands down in the area. Have tried 3 places all across socal before this, Specialized is the best in terms of response, capability, facility, and offerings. Their prices are very reasonable for the work too. Had a custom roof rack that is one single piece of fabricated steel. Specialized smoothly coated satin black on the cross tubes and coated grip texture on the rack structure. Seamless transition on the two colors and everything looks great. read more

Another well-known shop botched my bicycle frame and then blamed their poor job on the bike frame material. So I brought it to Specialized Coatings to be redone and the difference was night and day. Not only did they confirm nothing was wrong with the frame material, they hit it out of the park and did a fantastic job on my frame. The frame looks phenomenal. A big thanks to Specialized Coatings for working with me to get the frame done right. They are true experts when it comes to powder coating. read more

Great and fast service from Larry and Specialized Coatings I knew I came into the right spot and felt comfortable having them do my ceramic coating on my new downpipe after speaking with Larry, it looks amazing and will provide the much needed heat protection., On a side note : as a healthcare professional I would like to thank them as well for supporting " Mask on business policy " most Huntington Beach places and businesses don't care and many believe Covid is a joke I can assure you it's not , at specialized coatings you better wear a mask, they have signs everywhere keep it up and thank you again for doing your part to stop the spread.... read more

To my experience after several powder coating jobs the quality is always too notch. Price is competitive and depending on if it's they're busy season or not they can be very fast. They just completed a large bumper for me in 2 days. I find that amazing. Thanks guys. read more

Specialized is a great place to go for powder coating and heat coatings. I recently dropped of intercooler piping, radiator brackets, and an intake manifold which was all originally powder coated wrinkle red from the factory. The original powder coat was getting a little old and slowly chipping away so I decided to step it up and overhaul the whole look of the engine bay. With the help from the guys at Specialized I decided to go with a two stage candy violet powder coat. Specialized even helped me send out all my parts to be chemically stripped and cleaned up so that the powder coat would come out perfect. I would highly recommend stripping your own parts before you bring it to Specialized if you are looking to save money. If you are on a time crunch like me I would just let Specialized handle everything for you. The service is awesome and the end result is show quality powder coating. Powder coating here is definitely not cheap but you get what you pay for. I uploaded a few pictures on to Yelp so that everyone can see the quality of work that Specialize can provide. The pictures do not do the actual parts any justice but you get the idea. I will definitely be coming back to get more parts powder coated. read more

I have had numerous things coated here and was helped by Kelly the last few times. Some other guy helped me today. Quoted a price that was twice (his words) the price because they would need to get the powder. This is from a vendor they use and have the catalog for. I always try to help local businesses but when they can't use common sense and not gouge customers, I'll go elsewhere. I guess all the visibility on TV makes them highly sought after and not interested in taking cate of local return customers. (I started using them back in 2008). read more

Was looking to get my outdated steel stair railing and called Specialized Coatings to ask a couple questions about powder coating. Kelly was very knowledgeable and after getting a few more quotes thought I would try Specialized. Dropped off the railing, Specialized was very professional and even addressed a couple issues without charging anything. These guys are solid for your powder coating needs. read more

I spoke with Bob over the phone on 3/22/17 and got a quote of $120 to ceramic coat my turbo manifold, which is a small 4 cylinder log manifold. I explained in detail the manifold length and size along with how many runners it has and flange diameter. He said $120. I then drive today all the way over there and spoke with Kelly and he tells me it's $180. I told him I spoke with Bob over the phone and he quoted me less, so he says let me get him for you. Bob comes from the back and says let me help you over here. I showed him the manifold and he says "I thought you were talking about a turbo housing?" I told him over the phone it was a Manifold with four short runners. He then said there was a misunderstanding and that Kelly would help me out cause he knows better about pricing. Kelly was firm on the $180. So I passed and left. They obviously don't need my business. What I don't understand is how can Bob play dumb in front of me. And how do you get a turbine housing and an exhaust manifold confused. Lol. They probably don't do many manifolds. Bottom Line..They could have taken care of a customer, instead they didn't care I walked out the door. Very unprofessional. Don't bring your business there. They'll quote you low on the phone, once you get in the door they'll jack up the price!! read more

Specialized is the only place I would have powder coat any of my stuff. This place is simply amazing. I worked with Kelly and the crew of Specialized for years powder coating endless numbers of items. This includes wheels, suspension parts, manifolds, bike frames, and even a wine rack. There wasn't any metal part that I through at them that they were unable to handle. I'm sure I'm on of the few that can say I've had over 1000 pieces powder coated by specialized. Their pricing is extremely competitive for the industry and especially cheap when considering their level of experience. They have a wide array of colors to select from and catalogs of additional colors. They also have an array of thermal coating for header, manifold and engine components. Awesome stuff. read more

Great place to take your metal parts to have powder coated. One of the few places that knows how to powder coat forged rims. ( see pics of my red wheels ) they do a great job, and the prices are very competative. Ive had a few sets of wheels done here and they have come out great. Only draw back is that they are busy and sometimes it takes them a few weeks to get them done. most shops are like that though. But its worth the wait here. read more

6 Stars if I could! Quality work from a great friendly staff! I've been coming here for a few years and I've never had any bad experiences with anything. They're very knowledgeable, great turnaround time, and most importantly they get the job right the first time! Specialized has done tons of work for the most reputable and companies in the world. From Chip Foose ( TV show Overhaulin) to SpaceX pieces! Pretty admirable... Specialized is a trusted company and always delivers the best work, for that I won't use anyone else... Finding a company to do a service you've never purchased before can be unnerving. Especially when you're fixing up your car. I needed a roll bar powder coated and checked around. Specialized had the most consistent positive reviews, so I went with them. The price was great, service was pleasant, and the roll bar came out fantastic. I'm very pleased with the job. read more

I was recommended to Specialized by the folks at Ducati Newport Beach, and have used them twice now. On both occasions I've been pleased with every aspect of the experience.
