Took my set of wheels to these guys to coat my Tacoma wheels in bronze like every other Tacoma you see on the road. As I pulled up, they wheeled out a fresh set of rims done in bronze chrome. I pointed to that and said "I want that color!" They had them done in three days time. The powder coat quality was 98% with a couple of very minute blemishes where the faux bead locks mount. For the price I paid and the friendly staff, I didn't care about the blemishes that would be hidden (especially on a truck who's role is 95% camping). I've used these guys before and have always had a good experience. These guys aren't 100% perfect, but I feel the overall experience was well worth it and I'll gladly come back for future projects. read more

I have some iron gates that were in need of some new paint. The metal was showing some rust, but it was in decent shape. I started stripping them myself but soon figured out it was a messy and probably pretty toxic job. I found Americoat on Yelp. Good reviews, so I gave them a call. They said they would do the gates for a price I thought was pretty fair. I took the gates to the shop. I chose my color, and they said it would be just few days. They were a bit long on the time estimate. When I picked up the gates, I was very pleased with the color and finish. Unfortunately, I did not inspect them all that well. When I got home, my son saw some holes in the metal that were not there when I took them in. The holes were in a place that would be obvious when the gates were rehung. I called Americoat and spoke to Rich. He asked me to send him pics. I did, and he told me to bring the gate back so they could fix it. It took them another week, but they fixed it. The gate looks fantastic. Had it not been for the quality control and the pickup delays, I would give Americoat five stars. No question I would use them again for a similar project. read more

Spoke with Rich who quoted me a great deal to sand blast probably 10 coats of paint and powder coat the stair railings at my new house. I told him black and he said which one. Come to find out there are many sheens of black that have to be considered. Told him we are doing a Spanish style in the house and he suggested a particular sheen and texture. It came out perfect. Rich even went out of his way to help get me some paint to match the powder coating for the bolts on the wall (he normally powder coats the bolts too but I wasn't thinking and was unable to find the bolts.. my bad). In spite of driving all the way from Irvine and back without making a deal, I couldn't be happier with the experience I had! I'm in the Proof of Concept phase of a hobby project and needed powder coating done for a non-standard project (lightsaber hilt). Rich greeted me at the door, was very friendly, and made me feel comfortable immediately. To my surprise, Rich had actually worked on lightsaber powder coating in the past and seemed excited about a project that I personally think is pretty cool. After discussing rates ($60 minimum, FYI), it turned out that the detail work I was looking for was at least impractical, if not outright impossible, especially at the production size I was looking for (a single hilt). Instead of trying to pressure me into work that wasn't exactly what I wanted, Rich let me know the limitations and roughly estimated the price if I had a larger run for him to work on, although I still need to find an alternate solution to the detail work I needed. Regardless, I suspected the work that I wanted might not be feasible, but the experience was exactly what I was hoping for. I have some design work left to figure out, but I'm now armed with an understanding of limitations, costs, and economy of scale. I look forward to returning to Americoat once I've overcome those design challenges. Thanks Rich! These guys are awesome!! I picked up some brand new 18x8 Enkei's in black while having no intention of keeping them that color. I saw the reviews on yelp and saw they were much closer to me than the others and gave them a shot. I called and Rich answered the phone. I told him what I was looking to do and he gave me a quote. He asked what color and I stated that I had a Prismatic color in mind and that he didn't have that color on hand as a swatch, but gave me the person to call for free swatches. I called Prismatic, gave them 3 colors I was bouncing around and they actually sent me a few more that were in the same range, which helped out because I ended up picking a color that wasn't part of my original 3. Short story long, I dropped off my rims at 8am on Monday and by Friday I was able to pick them up. When I saw the color I picked out on the rims, I was blown away. It looks amazing. It was so good that the day I picked up my wheels I dropped off my AEM CAI arm and had it PC'd wrinkle black per their suggestion, which will match my charge pipe perfectly. This place is top notch. I know I'll have plenty of parts to PC and I'll bring them all here. read more

Wow, what a great experience. First off, the staff is super friendly. I wouldnt hesitate to send anyone there b/c they treated me so well. The owner Richard is a class act, listened to what I needed to get done, brought his best guy to look at what I needed to get done, and they did the work well. I was originally looking to get my bike powder coated, but I needed to get an exhaust manifold part fixed too. So I searched Yelp and of course Olympic Powdercoating came up. The drive was pretty far for me, so I looked for closer places that could do powder coating and welding. So Americoat came up, saw the reviews, and off I went. Pricing for the bike powdercoating was nearly the same as Olympic. The job came out really good as they stripped it bare w/ a sandblaster and then powdercoated. Sans a few dust bunnies (bearable) and dirt specs, its nearly perfect. What really impressed me though was the work on the exhaust manifold. They welded a sleeve on to fix a busted pipe and seamlessly welded another portion perfectly. They even went above and beyond and sent pics back of the work to make sure it was up to my satisfaction. This is a shop I plan to visit again and refer others. I am part of an off roading club and I will definitely refer people here going forward. After seeing the quality work they did I decided to take them back to be stripped and re powder coated. Mike I believe at the counter assisted me as soon as he was able to. He showed me multiple color options available similar to what I was looking for and ended up choosing their Triple Bronze option. After a few days the wheels were done. Disappointed with the last truck rack we got from them. We've been going to them since 2015 and have purchased at least 7 racks, but the last rack was 1 foot short than what we had agreed upon when we on the phone (3 separate phone calls) to make sure that it was ordered and made correctly. Richard claimed I mixed up the two truck rack sizes (crew cab and standard) but after checking my texts I had actually put them in correctly. Regardless, he said he would send me an updated invoice with the corrections made after we had spoken, so I had called last week very worried to confirm that it would be made how we had agreed upon on the phone. He had also up charged me after claiming I had made that truck size mistake, to only try and up charge me one more time for the rack being short. I hope they end up doing the right thing and fix this, otherwise you have lost a very loyal returning customer. Very upsetting to spend 3k on two racks and not get what was promised. Also don't appreciate Richard saying he "he doesn't like my tone of being blamed for something he didn't do" when I was upset trying to solve the problem. Very poor customer service... read more
