We came here to try the birria pizza and it was huge! It's pretty much like a birria quesadilla but big enough for 4 people to share. They also gave us 4 consume to pair with it (it's like a broth you dip the "pizza" in) and it was delicious! The salsas at the salsa bar were also tasty and the service was great. What a gem! Yum-tastic! We were visiting from the east coast and this was the best meal we've had since we left home - over stops in Phoenix and Sedona. The highlights were the Salsa, the Birra pizza, the bean dip and the Yaqui taco. If you only have room for a small amount - try the Yaqui and the Birra. You won't regret either! There were only two people working when we visited and they were on point. Greeted right away, told to sit anywhere and checked on often. You pay at the counter at the end. We were passing through from the Grand Canyon and wanted some good Mexican Food. The service was amazing, immediately helped us with seating and grabbing our drinks. The food was fantastic! FAST FACTS: * Parking - plenty available in the lot by the railway or street parking nearby* * Reservations - available on their website * Salsa bar included in your purchase with a variety of salsas, peppers, and veggies SERVICE - The lady running the register was pleasant... she let us know that they didn't have certain items we wanted to order but also double checked with the kitchen to make sure. Our food came out quickly but we were also the only customers at the time. PRICING - The total was $10.03 after tax and before tip for a quesabirria ($5) and an order of churros ($4). The pricing was very reasonable! QUESABIRRIA (7/10) - The birria was tender and flavorful and the corn tortillas were pretty jam packed! The onion and cilantro on top were fresh. It wasn't super cheesy which unfortunately is a downside for me. But, it does come with a side of consume for dipping which is great for the price! I'd order this again, even if it wasn't the best quesabirria I've ever had. CHURROS (7/10) - You get 4 churros cut into 8 pieces with some whipped cream in the middle. The churros are stuffed with a cream which was very good! They were cooked well but just weren't the best churros I've ever had. I'd probably still order them again as a sweet treat to end my meal! Obregon City Tacos has only been open for a few years so I can see their potential and think it's a great option in Williams for some authentic Mexican food! I think this is the last Mexican place we had to try out here in Williams and BAM! I'm so glad we did! We had their street tacos and salsa. We sat at the window bar so we could people watch. They have these beautiful live edge 2" thick tables to set your food and drinks on. The server was nice as well. The beef was tender, the chicken was chewy, but they were very generous in their meat portions. We'd like to come back to try other items here. You should definitely give it a try. My husband and I were on a trip for his bday and decided to eat here. We are both from Sonora so we were excited to try what we thought would be real and delicious Mexican food. Boy were we disappointed. I ordered 3 tacos 1 carne asada, 1 cabeza and 1 carnitas. None of them were decent. The carne asada tasted like over condimented meat that was cooked on flat grill not like carne asada at all, the carnitas were dry and the cabeza tastes more like shredded beef. My husband ordered 1 cabeza, 1 carne asada and 1 chicharron taco. He also agreed the food was not good, the only taco that was somewhat decent was the chicharron taco. We would never go back because the food is definitely not worth the hype. We thought the good reviews were a good thing, but obviously the reviews are from people who had never had actual good tasting Mexican food. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Tourist trap, the food didn't wow us! We stopped by for quick lunch on our way back from Grand Canyon National Park. Got seated and ordered food immediately. I went with 2 el pastor taco platter, and my husband got carne asada tacos! The el pastor was not cooked on a grill or charred. Rather it appeared to be slow cooked in a gravy. It tasted okay but we were disappointed right away. Next the carne asada, the meat was old. It looked rubbery and dried out. Service was fast and the folks working when we stopped in were lovely. The food on the other hand was tasty but left a little to be desired in the flavor department. They were not bad whatsoever but also not the best tacos I've ever had. I think my birria was supposed to have broth on the side but I didn't get that. No big deal though, I've attributed that to it being really busy that evening and the business having a small staff. Most restaurants have a great dish, but their salsa is okay, or their salsa bar is great and food is so-so. Not this place....everything we tried is WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Super fresh guacamole, beans are delicious and the Birria is some of the best we've tried. The salsa bar is the amazing. Wish there was a restaurant with the same kind of salsa bar. After seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews I ordered a torta, quesabirria, and birria bowl, as well as two agua frescas, Jamaica and Horchata. I appreciated that the bowl came with tortillas. I will say that the service was good however I believe this may be the best place in Williams for Mexican food but it is not good Mexican food. The torta and birria were bland and for the prices I expected more flavor and quality, the birria bowl looked like chewed up meat. The space is also small and the chairs were uncomfortable. The house salsa is to die for, and the al pastor is absolutely delicious. They have a self-serve topping bar with all sorts of accoutrement like salsas verde and roja, chopped white onions and cilantro, radishes, and even pickled red onions (which were absolutely amazing on my tacos!) Service was prompt and the waitstaff were very accommodating (we were able to get a couple refills on our unlimited chips and salsa very quickly). If you're ever passing through Williams, you have to make it a point to stop at Obregon. read more
