If you are looking for bare minimum politeness and human decency they are out of stock of that here.

Overpriced re-cycled thrift shop items. Ridiculous Ridiculous mark ups. Laughable. Hostile store atmosphere.

Love Your Furniture Again Antiques is my favourite new curio shop. Located in the working class…read moresection of Staten Island's North Shore known as Stapleton - 638 Bay Street, very near the Stapleton Station train stop and not far from the Ferry - the price range is "From two dollars and up," according to the manager. They have great hours too - well suited for working people. Closed on Tuesdays, they are open 11 am to 8 pm on weekdays and from 11 to 6 on weekends. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the items for sale are just terrific. If you want a true antique that is unique and in great shape you may pay a couple of hundred dollars but not thousands. This is not a thrift store and yet it is affordable. What caught my eye were the two very large animals in the window display. Prior to the store opening I shot a photo of the window display, focusing on one of the creatures - this image was a very popular item on flickr. My photo wound up in the "In Explore" group which is a highly sought after honour. I generally get from 200-300 hits on an image and 8-10 favourites - the window display from Love Your Furniture got over 5400 hits and 67 faves. What was the item? A large, pink, jewel encrusted, bird or mammal of some sort. When the store opened I ventured in to see what the creature was - it, and the jewel encrusted golden giraffe that graces the other side of the window display, was apparently part of a carousel at one time. This truly unique item and many more diminutive but equally interesting items await the visitor at this gem of a store. In addition to antiques the store features handmade items by Yana, one of the owners - one such item is a gorgeous decoupage end table. If you are on the Island to check out our great street art - and Stapleton is the epicenter of this activity - stop by Love Your Furniture Again Antiques. Bring your wallet as there is literally something for everyone. If you are looking for something in particular, call the shop at 917.525.6686. Oh, BTW, they restore antiques too! The very first time I went into the Every Thing Goes Gallery, I had a strong feeling they were going to be the place I finally got my tacky Italian lamp with a marble table attached. They didn't have one at the time.. but I asked a very helpful employee, and he said that yes, they did get such things in from time to time... I asked him to call me if ever they did... I didn't get a call, but checking in from time to time works... I even had two to choose from! And it's so perfect! It actually wasn't the only thing I desperately wanted there. They also had a couple of lovely vintage art deco dressers with the round mirrors... I've always wanted one of those, too, but I can't afford a new bedroom set right now... even though the prices are truly amazingly good. If it's your thing, they also have a whole room devoted to 1950's modernist stuff... and just all kinds of vintage furniture, art objects and decor items... sculpture, dishes, rugs, glassware... etc. Even more useful - they have a photo gallery of new stuff for sale, updated a couple of times a week, on their website. They don't offer delivery service, but if the item(s) you're buying aren't *too* large, there's a car service right next door which will be happy to ferry you and your new acquisitions to the ferry... or elsewhere. And the employees at the Gallery will be happy to help you get your items to the car. *Closed on Sundays and Mondays! If they seem to be closed when they ought to be open, go to the furniture store on the next block and ask them to let you in - they'll be more than happy to do so!

The order is brought out to you but that is the only table service you receive. You collect your own napkins and utensils from the station located near the restroom, and you toss out your trash. PROS: - no stairs, easy entrance for those who use walkers, wheel chairs, strollers, etc. - expansive menu including hot food options, milkshakes, etc. (more than just a coffee shop menu) - cool vibe, antique decor, string lighting and variety of heights for seating options (high top tables, standard tables, couches, etc) - amazing bakery selection including novelty cakes; authentic and professional CONS: - sometimes lacks available seating, especially on weekends - sometimes lacks available parking, especially on weekends - could use better ongoing table clean up My go to drink is the iced toffee coffee. My go to breakfast is the yogurt & honey which is a generous portion. I also enjoy the potato peppers & eggs. For lunch they have an expansive salad menu. I really enjoy the Mediterranean salad (which used to be called the Israeli salad). This is a family friendly establishment. Always fun to take a stroll through the antique store which you can access from the dining establishment.
