I have used Obi One several times. For trips to the airport or making a "night of it" in LA / the LA Region... They are always on time or early. Horrible Service, UNSAFE vehicles. THIS is the worst Car Service EVER!!!! The vehicle I was traveling in bearing the license plate (OBI ONE) had a speedometer that didn't work so I couldn't tell how fast the driver was actually going. When I inquired about this the driver told me that it along with the odometer hadn't worked in years and the owner refuses to fix them. He stated that he has driven the car several times and it shuts off, once at 75 mph on the hwy, WITH passengers in the car no less. I was mortified. He further stated that the vehicle has transmission problems, which the owner is also aware of. The inside of the car was FILTHY and raggedy, i.e windows wouldn't roll down, broken or missing vanity mirrors, upholstery was dirty, holes in carpet, AND there were roaches, yes, ROACHES in the car. They bill themselves as "luxurious, professional transportation".....HA! WHAT A JOKE!!! The owner seems to be more concerned with lining his pockets than that of passenger safety. I WILL be reporting this company to the proper authorities PRONTO! Trust me THIS is a ride you'd be better off passing on if you value your life AND don't want to take roaches home with you too!!! It's so bad it doesn't even deserve a rating. If I could give them a negative zero I would. I notified the Hotel that I booked through and was informed that they had several complaints of a similar nature and would no longer be using their service. I spoke with the owner one 'Chesco Obi' about this and got brushed off........NOT COOL. Just in speaking with him I got the distinct impression that he's a shady character. I wouldn't at all put it past him to have created the favorable reviews here on yelp as a means to further his agenda. He struck me as the type who wouldn't be above stooping to such measures. He basically concluded our conversation by telling me that there are other car services out there and I could always have chosen one of those. Yeah right, I was suppose to do this at the last minute when I had to get to LAX to catch a flight. Apparently the idiot doesn't fully comprehend the power of the internet. In this day and age one has to wonder how some of these so called 'business owners' can afford to have a shitty attitude like this and think they can get away with it. Here's a tip for you JACKASS: The next time someone brings SERIOUS complaints about your company to your attention YOU SHOULD TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY. On June 8th I booked a ride from Fountain Valley to LAX. The car and driver did show up on time with an older Lincoln Town Car. The website clearly shows rates from Fountain Valley to LAX in a Lincoln Town car is $108.50. When I got to the airport the driver said it would be $120. I had a copy of the fee on the website, showed it to the driver and all he said was "Oh we need to change that" I asked if he would honor the price and he would not. When I returned from my trip I called the office and spoke to the manager. He said it was too long since he charged me so he couldn't adjust the fee.(2 weeks) When I argued he said they always add 20% to their charges. That makes no sense because that would be about $130. It states this no where on their website. He clearly would not make any adjustment. I WOULD NEVER BOOK THIS COMPANY. Sounded too good to be true....pick up and drop off for our family of 4 (& not in a shared vehicle) for about the same price as a shuttle service! David texted me at landing and met us at the airport on time, got our luggage and took us directly to Our Disney hotel in a private SUV! Same great service at pick up from our hotel to the airport! We recently used Obi-One for transportation to and from our cruise. We were promptly greeted in LAX and then brought to our hotel in Long Beach via a nice SUV. The next day we again were met with great service to get us to our ship in San Pedro. Post cruise was also great. Got off the ship called Obi-One and within in minutes they were there to bring us to the airport. I never once had to touch my bags! I highly recommend Obi-One. I used to use taxis but for only a few bucks more you can ride in style with a great driver, prompt and reliable service, and the feeling of everything being taken care of. read more

Recently experienced a HORRIBLY uncourteous driver who showed dangerous driving skills, and an extremely argumentive attitude. I called the dispatcher to explain my experience who in turn called the owner of the company at home. The owner then called me on my cell PROMPTLY and explained that action had been taken (driver is no longer with them) AND he went on thanking me for taking the time to share my experience, mainly stating that such experience could very well be the downfall of his company if an accident had occurred, etc. He was so nice and so forthright and quite honestly, just downright REAL ON THE PHONE. They always remember us (by name), are always early, and in a couple of instances where we forgot to set up transportation ahead of time, they fit our group in for last minute pickups. I hired Obi One Transportation to transport my daughter and her bridal party on the day of her wedding. i was dealing directly with the owner. We had agreed on a price for 4 hours. I only needed the limo for 3 hours , but was told that 4 hours was the minimum and that the fee would be 4 x $85.00. When the 3 hours was done I handed the driver the payment of $340.00 and an $80.00 tip. I then went to take the formal wedding pictures with my daughter. In the middle of the pictures, the driver tapped me on the shoulder, telling me that I owed $525.00. He said that the minimum was 5 hours and that there was a gratuity added in beyond the one that I had already paid. It was a definately a shake down to get more money out of me. He continued to interrupt the pictures and when I refused to pay the additional amount, he told me that i could re-issue the check and leave the "paid to" blank. I refused and then I was told that the only way that I could "get away with" paying them less was to write the check directly to the owner. The whole fiasco ruined the experience of taking pidtures with my daughter, and her new husband, and I am still mad about the whole thing. i was recommended to their service by the hotel where we were staying and I have filed a compaint with them as well. Terrible experience- the car was late picking us up and dropping us off at LB airport. Sharron, the woman who picked us up was rude and argumentitive- talked so much she got lost and took the wrong freeway. She was smoking in the car when she arrived and it stunk. Overall I would not use this car service again. read more
