My first time trying Uzbek food. It wasn't too crowded when we came for a Saturday lunch. We ordered several things to try - Kutabi, Shurpa, Lagman, Fried Ravioli with Beef, and Lamb, Beef Roulade, & Ground Beef Kebabs. The highlights were the Shurpa soups and kebabs. The others were nothing special and didn't have too much flavor but still good overall. Service was also ok - our server wasn't the friendliest. We did end up trying their Baklava which was a mistake. It was soft and mushy - definitely a few days old when baklava is best eaten within a day or two of being made. Oh well. It was still great to check this place out and I would come back for the soups and kebabs.

This was the first time I went to an Uzbek restaurant so I didn't know what to expect. I got a lamb skewer and a Plov. The lamb skewer was well seasoned and cooked well, and the braised lamb in the Plov was very tender. However, the rice and veggies were overall a bit too oily for my taste. We also got a pitcher of the house made fruit compote, which was very good. Service was good and the food was brought out quickly. I enjoyed the ambience, they had a few TVs playing (I'm assuming) Uzbek music videos. It's always interesting to watch music videos from artists of different cultures.

This place was a lovely surprise. I figured I'd try something new, and I am so glad I did. The moment I walked in, I knew this would be an interesting restaurant. Every customer I saw in the restaurant was Uzbek or central Asian, and it was crowded. You know it's authentic when all the customers are from the region its food is. The service was great. The waitresses were stunning and very quick and responsive. All the staff were very nice to me. The food was an absolutely amazing experience. Both appetizers I ate were amazing, and for their price, most customers should buy them in my opinion. I ordered the "Borscht" soup because I always wanted to try it. I expected to dislike it, but I was totally wrong! It was an incredibly delicious soup! I love Borscht now! For dinner I had the Samarkand Plov, which according to google, is the classic Uzbek entree. It was SCRUMPTIOUS!!! The meat was super tender, the rice and veggies were perfect, and the quail egg was the perfect touch of uniqueness. The lamb kebab was good too, but the rice was severely lacking compared to the Plov. Overall, a truly amazing restaurant. I can't wait to come back soon!

Very clean food. The flavors were light but soothing. The meat was well cooked, almost creamy and fell apart on t GG e fork. We also had grilled meats, not pictured. The salad was very refreshing. The restaurant is big and very beautiful. They have a nice outdoor area. Mera's tip: get meaty

Lagman, non, and tandoori samsa

I'm obsessed with Uzbek food and culture ever since spending some time in New York, so I had to find Uzbek restaurants back home. Stumbled upon Oasis one day and ordered the lunch special (which was $8.50 for a soup, a big chunk of bread, and a drink) along with a tandoori samsa ($4). I was happily surprised by the prices because I was used to paying $16 for a bowl of lagman. Note: I did order pickup. The food was really good and filling! I had a compote to drink, which wasn't too sweet but fruity. The lagman had a lot of meat in it and the noodles were chewy and filling. The non tasted fresh, while the tandoori samsa was stuffed with beef and onion (it had very Uzbek flavors if you're not used to the cuisine and came with a dipping sauce). I'll be back, that's for sure. Hit my cravings for lagman perfectly, now my father wants to eat dinner here (he's Persian and was excited to hear them playing Persian music). The decor is also nice inside.

Very delicious food with authentic vibe. The service is way above a typical restaurant. Our table was visited at least every 4-5 minutes.

Mantwo is basically afghan dumpling, and the filling was incredible savory and had a meaty texture. The was my favorite appetizer, stuffed with spiced potatoes, lentils, and chives/leeks from what I saw. The dipping sauce of yogurt and mint went amazing with it. For mains, we got the Lamb Lawand and Lamb loin chop. The lamb lawand was this savory rice dish- they served it with mushrooms and a side of beautifully seasoned spinach. It came as a stew that you were able to mix with your rice as you please. As for the lamb loin chop, it was incredibly tender- falling off the bone. Dessert was difficult, as I am deathly allergic to all nuts. My partner got the hazelnut chocolate cake, and from what I heard they rated it very highly. I got the afghan ice cream; the flavor were incredibly unique, with notes of cardamom, saffron and rose water. I usually have a problem with rose water in my desserts, as it ends up tasting overly flowery or soapy, but I think it was executed well. The toppings of dates, mangos, and figs went incredibly well with the flavors of the ice cream. My only complaint was the service being a bit slow, but at the time we went it was incredibly busy, and I don't blame the workers. Otherwise, this was a great place to go to for an elevated meal! Not TOO fancy, but not too casual either.

We started off with the bowlani. It was a freshly gently fried samosa if I had to describe it. I enjoyed it very much. I wanted to try multiple items but for some reason wasn't very hungry so I went with the vegetarian aushuk and the mashawa soup. I also ordered the bread to dip in my soup. Everything was very tasty. The service was excellent and the overall vibe of the restaurant was pleasant. I'll be back for sure.

There's a few options to choose from and after trying each one, I think Nepal House has the best prices for the best quality and flavor. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. Each came with its own serving of rice and included generous chunks of meat. They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. Everything was ready on time and packed with care. I'd love to return to dine in for their lunch buffet since it seems like a great deal.

I searched for the closets restaurant that was also opened on Yelp because that's a great feature, and found Nepal House. They have a banner on their site advertising their new extended hours of 11am til 1am. I was a little skeptical but figured it's hard to get Indian food wrong . . . They had a combo which came with your choice of specialty chicken, veggie samosa and naan. I opted for the butter chicken spicy level and garlic naan for an indulgent late-night meal before going home. That's the kind of comfort I didn't know I actually needed all week. I tried to order online but was having some trouble so called in for pickup. To their surprise, I was already outside, so when I was informed to arrive soon, I replied I was already outside. I went in after the 15 minutes my food was promised in and had to wait for a bit. I tried to make small talk with the young lady at the register but she seemed a little flustered for some reason. There was a couple seated in the main dining area but the bar was closed off. Ideally, I'd sit at the bar when I'm dining alone so I asked how busy the bar usually is and was informed it is usually packed. I didn't believe that at all because there were no signs of being used anytime in the near past at all. But ok. I continued to look around and noted the dated decor that was still rich in culture. My food was done and I paid. I've notice for some reason restaurants just hand you an amount on a machine and ask for you to pay. I asked for my receipt to ensure I wasn't being overcharged for anything and again she seemed flustered. She gave me the POS and said something, so I asked again but this time I asked to see what I was charged for. She then printed me a receipt and I waited to pay. Don't know what that was about but ok. Grabbed my food and walked fast to my car. I noticed a lot of people on that street either standing around or going in and out of businesses. I locked my door and proceeded to open my brown paper bagged late night dinner. First, I tried the veggie samosa which was steaming hot with very subtle flavors. I remembered asking if it came with sauce and was informed it did, so grabbed it out of the bag and dipped. It gave the samosa some more flavor but after seeing the dull green pea, I put it down and grabbed a piece of naan. It also lacked in flavor, and I couldn't taste any garlic. I opened my container with butter chicken and immediately dipped the naan in, like any good person would do. So hot, flavorful, creamy, seasoned, everything I needed at that moment. I would have jumped for joy but just grabbed the fork and went for a piece of chicken which was tender and I couldn't tell if it was a breast or thigh. So that meant if it was a breast, it wasn't dry but if it was a thigh, it wasn't juicy either. I was ok with the in between for the night. I didn't want to eat the rice but decided to indulge and scooped some onto my fork and then grabbed a piece of sauced chicken and quickly scarfed it down. I drove home and passed out in my parking space . . . . don't judge, mind your business. If you haven't passed out in your car after a good meal then are you really living? No, you're not. I'd go back for a late night meal if I'm in the area or if they are on my way back home again.

It's not that it was bad necessarily, other places nearby are just better in my opinion. We ordered two chicken tikka masalas, garlic naan, and paneer pakora. I was disappointed to see, upon returning home, that they only gave us one side of rice for two orders of chicken tikka. That seemed a little strange to me especially since each order of chicken tikka was almost $20. The sauce had nice flavor but the chicken was tough and didn't fall apart like others I've had in the past. I would've preferred butter chicken but couldn't find it on their menu - maybe I just overlooked it or they have it listed under another name? The paneer pakora was OK, the breading was super thick and not crispy enough. The mint cilantro chutney it came with was unexpectedly spicy. I can handle my spice but I've just never had green chutney have that much of a kick to it. I didn't try the naan but my boyfriend said he's had better. All together it was $60 which seemed a little steep for what we got. The inside is surprisingly cute though and they do offer a lunch buffet. Would I return? Probably not just given the other options in the area.
