Desperately needed a new furnace as it was dying right around the time Chicago was having extreme cold weather in February 2025. I shopped around and called a few places and felt all except Oasis where overpricing/taking advantage probably because I needed a new furnace. I wanted to get both furnace and air conditioning installed since they both needed to be replaced and I thought I might save on getting them both done. Less than 1 star. I scheduled an appointment for the analysis of the lack of hot water pressure in the bathroom of my condo. Chris scheduled the appointment for Monday morning. By the way, when I scheduled my appointment, I told Chris to pick a date good for him and all I needed was a window of time. He confirmed it twice to make sure I would be there. His office person Natalia contacted me Monday after he was due to tell me he was running late. She changed the later arrival time twice. Needless to say the plumber, confirmed by Natalia to be Chris did not arrive as promised. She told me he scheduled another appointment over the weekend that he decided was more important than me, but he did not relate this to me. Keep this in mind when you schedule your time to accommodate Oasis in the future. They do not respect your time or your business. read more

Oh, where to begin. First, I do want to say that the owner, Mike, seems very nice and communicative, as did the tech, Danny, who came out to look at my setup. Good guys, and I've got nothing bad to say about them. However, when it came time to actually do some work today, the installers were absolutely terrible. Like, crazy bad. First, they showed up with the wrong material for my boiler flue pipe replacement. This is after I had repeatedly specified with Mike and Danny upfront that what they brought should not be used and was assured it wouldn't be, as it's specifically stated as not being safe or approved for boiler flue exhaust. It was cellular core PVC, which isn't rated for high enough temps and can warp and crack over time, possibly leaking carbon monoxide and other nasty stuff into your home. Thankfully, I knew enough to confirm the material and stop them before they started. They told me, "we always use cellular core for this." I'm guessing that's because it's the cheapest PVC material available, but it's wrong and is a major safety concern. They agreed to get the right material and I said I'd get a bucket before they disassembled the existing flue so we could drain the water and soot out of the pipe without making a mess. This is also something I had discussed with Danny and he told me the guys would make a few careful cuts to drain the water before taking everything apart. I left for a minute and came back with the bucket, only to find one of the guys had just pulled the flue out of the top of the boiler (while it was still running!!!!) and sooty flue water had poured all over the place, including getting my drywall all wet in an area behind a drain line which I can't really access to try and dry it. WTF? Like, aside from everything else, who pulls an exhaust pipe out of a boiler while it's still running?! Did I get even so much as an apology from these guys? No. In fact, one told me it was my fault for having drywall in my mechanical room and that it would've just gotten wet from a plumbing mishap at some point regardless. Huh? And the other one quickly started lying, saying he turned the boiler off before pulling the flue out and then quickly turned it back on again when the water pored out. It's a total lie... I was right there and am the one who pointed out the boiler was on the whole time! I had them immediately leave and finished trying to clean up the mess they'd made. On the way out, one of them pointed to the logo on their truck and told me in broken English to "forget about using this company." I think that's the only thing we agreed on during their visit. Mike did reach out to me via text after and said their behavior was unacceptable and to let him know if there were damages and he'd take care of them. While he may be a nice, honest business owner and Danny may be a nice, honest tech, the guys actually doing the install seemed to have no clue what they were doing and had a bad attitude after clearly messing up. Your mileage may vary, but based on my experience I absolutely cannot recommend using Oasis for your HVAC needs. It's not worth the risk, especially when your family's health and safety depend on the quality of the work being performed and the correct materials being used. read more

Recently our ejector pump burned out which resulted in minor flooding that was fortunately contained within our pump room. We've lived in our condo for approximately 10 years and were not well versed with ejector pump maintenance, so when it failed we immediately called Oasis Heating & Cooling. We were connected with Chris, who spoke with us over the phone, to help identify the problem and ensure he had the proper parts/equipment/tools upon coming to our home. When Chris arrived and checked out the pump he did an amazing job explaining the work that needed to be completed and why. My Water heater turns off intermittently after 1-2 hours, so I had these guys come over to take a look at it. Charged $165 to turn it on (I know how to turn it on) and then tell me he can't diagnosis the issue cause he "wasn't there when it turned off" and said it could be 1 of 3 issues but it's best bet is to replace it completely for min $4k. Couldn't figure out what the issue so "buy a new one instead" mentality. Salesmen not repairmen Called a plumber. He actually ran diagnostics and turns out it was an overdraft issue. Recently, my lift sewage pump stopped working, and I checked Oasis' website and found that the company had now added a plumbing service. I left my contact info and Chris (who manages and performs plumbing services) quickly called me back. He really took the time to analyze my situation and stopped by the next morning to give me an evaluation and cost quote. He thoroughly explained to me exactly what was wrong and discussed all my options; I was very impressed with how much he knew. We've been using Oasis for all of our heating and cooling needs for several years now. They are incredible. This week I needed an old leaky toilet fixed and discovered Oasis also offers plumbing. Chris came here and explained the costs and risks of repairing the old toilet versus getting a new one. Most impressively, he correctly predicted that there might be problems when we removed the old toilet, based on how it was glued to the floor and the age of our home (100+ years). This ultimately turned into a bigger job than anyone anticipated, but Chris came out again (even though he had been sick and I could tell it was a slog just to be here). Despite spending nearly two full days in our house, Chris delivered the project exactly as he had predicted at a very reasonable cost. I hired this company to do a full furnace/AC replacement. In the quoting process, three things stood out to me: the friendliness of the employees, the competitiveness of the pricing, and the fact that they were the only company that properly sized the replacement unit (we were moving from an ancient unit to a high-efficiency unit, and other companies quoted me for a new furnace with equivalent BTUs, and none of them did manual J calcs to back that up). That final point was most important to me - even if Oasis had worse pricing, I wanted the job done right. The installation had a couple minor errors, but they did not drag their feet about coming back to make everything right. To me, that displayed a high degree of professionalism and commitment to customer service. The installation seemed to go smoothly, and everyone was friendly throughout. When I turned on the air conditioner for the first time this season, it was making an awful lot of noise... a kind of rattling sound that certainly shouldn't be the noise you hear from your central air. I also really need the AC to be working properly, because even though I usually just deal with the heat or turn on a fan in the summer it gets VERY hot up on the third floor of my townhome (where the bedrooms are), and to ensure safety for my soon-to-be July infant that won't be able to regulate their temperature. I called Oasis (and apparently we've called them in the past) and they came out within a couple of days. We learned that the AC unit was from 1997--the year this place was built! So it was in desperate need of replacement. To get it taken care of in one fell swoop, we chose to replace the AC unit (including condenser), furnace, and humidifier. This particular unit is for the third and fourth floors, so you know where I'm going--it's a rooftop unit. Had they needed to use a crane it would have cost another several hundred dollars easily, but thankfully since there's an egress stairway from the roof deck they were able to bring everything up that way and we didn't incur the additional cost. The guys were efficient and competent. They got here a bit after 7 am and were finished by 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon. They made sure that we understood how everything works, and they also corrected some weird pipework that was installed before we moved in that blocked the furnace filter area. The work was quieter than I expected it to be, which was a bonus since I was working from home that day. We had a quote before the guys left from the diagnosing-the-issue appointment. Although it was expensive, all the work was necessary and I have confidence it was very well done. They charge a $165 fee to diagnose your issue, but if you chooses to continue the work with them they will apply that to the cost of your work. I need to have some duct cleaning work completed and I'll be checking to see if they do that as well. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism of the guys who completed it, so unless things go sideways or we move out of their service area, I plan to use Oasis for heating and furnace issues moving forward. read more

I'm not sure what the quality of the work would have been, as they worked really hard to make it impossible to get hired. . Weird, I know. When I first connected with the scheduler, she advised me that the initial visit costs $165, and if there is a second visit and/or parts needed, this amount would be deducted from the final charge. Ok, makes perfect sense. What doesn't make sense is that the business never provided a proper itemized estimate. All I could get from them was "Remove existing motor, replace with new motor". No parts listed, no labor cost breakdown... We went back and forth three times, but the business was never able to provide an actual estimate in a way that is not only commonly accepted, but also allows a customer to decide whether the estimate is competitive or not. When I finally connected over the phone with someone who claimed to be the owner, he told me that he's too busy to provide estimates to his customers. And he added the usual bullsh*t too - "those parts are so expensive, I don't know why 'they' gave you such a low estimate", "I have 19,000 customers", "we are an honest business"... Makes you wonder what is that he doesn't want you to see. Does he charge 500% markup on parts? Does he charge 6 hours of labor where 2 would be the industry average for this job? Who knows? The owner certainly doesn't want you to. 10 minutes on Google reveal that the part costs a little over $100. He asked for nearly $900. Now I know why he's so intentionally vague. read more

I have had very good experiences with Mike and his team over the years at Oasis HVAC. A few years ago when we first moved into the house, another HVAC company provided maintenance to the system while disconnecting the overflow drain switch on the AC coil pan. Therefore the unit ran for days and flooded our downstairs DEN. Oasis saved the day, reinstalling the switch and fixing the system. Now our old system is 19 years old and makes no sense to pay $1,000 to fix it so yesterday we decided to replace it. Mike came out to look at the old central air and heating furnace unit which is in the upstairs of our bungalow. Seated horizontally, it was going to take a lot of work to get the old unit out and the new unit in. We selected the American Standard (highest rated in the industry a.k.a. Trane) 80K BTU 2 stage furnace/central air and an American Standard 3.5 ton 13 seer A/C unit outside. The team of 5 guys came out to install it just 4 days after signing the contract promptly at 7:00am and completed the entire job at 2:30pm. They had originally thought it would take a day and a half. I also elected the annual maintenance which they come out 2 times per year and will also cover labor, along with manufacturer's hardware warranty for 10 years. The units are EXTREMELY quiet, you cannot even hear them run. Especially being outside and entertaining the patio. My electric bills are also expected to decrease significantly. The 19 year old previous system originally purchased from Sears was costing an additional $400/month just to run in the summer to to mention the old freon was $220.00 per pound. I am VERY satisfied with Oasis HVAC, quality product, quality service, attention to detail, professional and courteous. They also don't change extra for after hours emergency maintenance and have been easy to reach in the time of need and arrive at the house in 1-2 hours after creating an appointment. There was a number of equipment that started to give in after hitting the five (5) year mark. Some systems might well pass due for their maintenance schedules and I failed to think about them sometimes. Our basement furnace was one of the machines that just didn't sound quite right. I contacted "Oasis Heating and Cooling" due their consistent high rating on Yelp and hoped to get a solution to the problem I was encoutering. Scheduling was professionally done. Requests could be sent via emails and the office was prompt to respond with their availabilities. When it came to the appointment time, the folks arrived at a reasonable time frame and were ready to work. When one of the technicians recommended us to get a new furnace, I understood it could seem like he was trying to up-sell me something that I didn't need. However, when he also laid out the estimate to just replace the motor of the furnace, for me it was better to have a new furnace that would render stable heat and possibly could help reduce the gas bill altogether. Since I chose to have the furnace replaced, the maintenance fee was waived after I approved the estimate. By the way, the estimate was itemized and I was able to view it in the email. I liked it how transparent it was. It detailed the warranty on parts and labor, which I was ok with the perks that came with and thought the cost was competitive in comparison to what other companies in town offered. The system, since the installation, has been running pretty smoothly. It no longer made the unsettling noise that I used to hear every time I turned the heat on. That gave me a peace of mind. Nowadays we spent way more time in the house because of the pandemic and my infant son, anything that contributed to the house could be money worth spending in my opinion. I would consult "Oasis Heating and Cooling" again for other potential maintenance projects that would be needed in the house for the spring/summer seasons. This is just an absolutely fantastic company we've been using them for a really long time the owner Mike great and has really created a wonderful company that is so responsive and so great. They help my mom constantly with a tough A/C situation. Now that I'm in my own condo my heat went out in the middle of this cold . They came out within a couple hours and more able to figure out it was a problem with Wiring from the nest to the system which I had had suspicions there was something wrong with the nest for a while. Excellent Company, Great Service. I had a central AC unit crap out the night before a heat wave. I called at 10:30 at night - they answer the phone 24 hours - and chose not to have emergency service but Mike called me at 7:04 in the morning to schedule a time THAT SAME DAY to repair my unit. He came out at 9:30 am, diagnosed it right away, and brought the right part with him "because it's usually this part" to make a fast repair. Fast, simple, done. I cannot recommend Oasis Heating & Cooling enough. My heater wouldn't turn on during one of the cold spells he had this winter. I called them, well knowing that it might take them a couple of days to come by. The operator was so kind and made it happen by the end of the day. I appreciated her ability to sympathize with me (we had a crying baby in the background) and she called all the employees to see if there were any openings. I appreciated her so much for that! Once we got someone out (that same day) they ordered the part within hours and were ready to come back the next day. However, the problem turned out to be a huge People's Gas problem in the community and we had to cancel the order. The owner made sure to keep in contact with us to make sure the issue was resolved with People's Gas and that our heating and cooling system was working. I appreciate them for their promptness, their empathy for a young family (who wants baby to be cold?), and for checking in. We will continue to be costumers. Pro-Tip: join the Oasis Club- for $20 a month they come out twice a year to check your system and winterize it/ set it up for summer. You also get 20% off with any service. read more

Just prior to the heat dome starting, my air conditioner gave out. Oasis was able to send someone out the day after I called them. I could tell they were really busy. They called me the morning of to let me know they had a lot of appointments that day and they would be arriving a few hours late. They texted me when they were on the way and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. The guys they sent were polite, professional, and even found an issue with the other air conditioner that would have caused flooding if left uncorrected. I was nervous because I've been told so many things about my air conditioner needs to be replaced and it would cost thousands of dollars but Oasis said that that was unnecessary and that just the capacitor needed to be fixed.
