Very thorough with Dr. Goolsby for both contacts and glasses. Great selection on frames. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Dr. Trapeni is an outstanding eye doctor. Having said that, it takes more than just the boss to…read moremake a good experience or a bad experience. Well, the front desk staff really makes a rough mark on this establishment. The main front desk person is abrupt, harsh, and inept. Sadly, this is making me not want to go back even though I really love the care of the doctor.

I've been going here for several years. Not sure what has happened to them over the past few years…read morebut visiting their office has become extremely frustrating. Today, I had an appt for 11:45. For the last several days, I've gotten text message reminders, voicemails, and emails reminding me of the appt. Yesterday, I was asked to come in 15 minutes early. This morning I rec'd a text that my appointment was moved to 11:30. I changed my plans around at work to accommodate. I arrived at the front desk at 11:25. I filled out one sheet of paper and they copied my insurance card. I sat down in the waiting room at 11:30. The waiting room had 5 or 6 people waiting when I arrived. I waited in the waiting room for 50 minutes. I asked the front desk why I was asked to come in early and my appt time was changed and no one had a clue. I ended up leaving. Based on prior visits, surviving the waiting room doesn't mean you are on the fast track to leaving anytime soon. Once you pass that hurdle, then you get to read the eye chart. Then back to the waiting room - or if you are lucky, on to your room....to wait. Then after 10-20 mins Dr Trapeni will visit. They you are rushed out to the saleswoman who pushes overpriced lenses and frames. Beware, she gets upset when you tell her you just need a copy of your prescription so you can order your glasses online for half the price. They have always quoted me $300ish on basic glasses with none of the fancy lenses and add-ons. My insurance pays $200 towards that amount. However, I learned a couple years ago, I can go online and get the EXACT same glass, plus all the upgraded lenses for less. For instance, had I gotten to see a doctor today, I was going to order online and get name brand eyeglasses (with upgraded lens) and sunglasses for $240 - TOTAL, that means only $40 out of pocket for TWO sets of glasses. This practice couldn't come CLOSE to that price. I wish I could say the extra expense paid for better service, but after waiting 50 minutes for nothing, I don't think that's the case.

I bought 2 pairs of glasses from the Cookeville Tennessee store along with the replacement…read morewarranty. Both frames broke within a few months. When I asked for a replacement I was told I should try going to a jewelry store to see if they could repair the frame. Really, I should go to a 3rd party and pay to have your defective product fixed? They reluctantly ordered me a replacement frame. After this one of the lenses developed a defect. They ordered me a replacement. When the lenses came in they texted me the lenses were ready. I brought my glasses in and they installed a pair of bifocal lenses. I tried them on and noticed they were not trifocals as the originals but bifocals. The woman helping me seemed genuinely surprised that I didn't want the bifocals. I insisted she reinstall the blemished trifocal lenses and order me the correct lenses. The store phoned me several hours latter telling me that they could no longer give me trifocals with the Transitions lenses. So I opted to live with the defective lens. The warranty covers one time replacement. Both of my replacement frames broke approximately a month after the initial replacement. I have worn glasses for over 30 years and have rarely had an issue before these. Absolute garbage for a product, four broken frames and one defective lens, all within the year warranty period. I would steer clear of this store.

When I finally got to the pre-test 45 minutes later, I was greeted by a nice young lady, Kelly, who took care of me 2 years ago. She was apologetic as they were running late. No worries after the apology. Then I finally got my eyes tested by another Dr. that I did not know. She has a soft voice and, as I am going deaf asked her to please use her outside, softball voice. We had a good chuckle on that. Well, my eyes had changed, but she was very helpful in explaining why and the pictures she took of my eyes she explained the dark spots. I was worried about how much just the eye exam was going to cost as I don't have vision insurance and wasn't ready to buy new glasses yet. To my surprise, the exam was pretty inexpensive. Only $59.00. Would I go back again? Absolutely. The clientele was very helpful and understanding and very nice.
