I have been a patient at both the Antioch and the new Murfreesboro offices and have had solid care at both places. Dr. Anna Yi of the Antioch office identified some eye medical issues and set up a treatment plan to hopefully slow or stop the onset of the problems. In the Murfreesboro office Dr. Olivia Mesoras is continuing the care and is following up with me. Both Optometrists have showed genuine concern for my well-being, never rushed me, and ensured I understood what was going on with my eye health. I do appreciate the care they have been providing. As for glasses, my newest prescription needed some adjusting. I went in to discuss it with Karlie my Technician and I did not receive any push back from her or the management there. They created a new set of lenses for me and adjusted the prescription. If that does not fix the problem they will have me back in to check on other possible issues. Bottom line...the care I have received from Eyecare Plus over the past few years has been great and I do recommend them. The new Murfreesboro office is beautiful and huge. It's a bit difficult to get into due to the bridge construction on Broad/Old Fort but a really nice facility. read more

While the quality of glasses Eyecare Plus provides is always great, their staff situation is an absolute mess. Multiple times I've come in the middle of the day for pickup and have found they are closed for no reason posted anywhere online or on the door. They also frequently lie about the status of any orders. I was told my new glasses would be ready after a week and after three weeks of no news I contact them and they just so happen to come in the next day. Same thing with a pair of contacts that they straight up admitted to forgetting to order. It's frustrating for a place to advertise pickup anytime but not actually have that amenity. Would recommend for their quality and pricing but if you value honesty and punctuality I would steer clear. read more

This store is horrible possibly worse than the green hills location. I'm assuming they don't understand customer service & value? I walked in to check in after going back and forth from the green hills location. As soon as i'm checking in to pick up my order another worker cuts me off and asks the employees what they want from Kroger. This is not the first time i've came to this location before the employees are taking food orders and/ or eating , unprofessional. The lady helping me was extremely nice, but while eating her candy drool hit the table from her mouth, disgusting. After all of this not only did they "forget" to tell me my insurance was out of network. I paid nearly 700 dollars and for compensation for all of this i was giving a spray cleaning solution, thanks i guess. Would not recommend read more

I had an eye exam at this location a couple of months ago. I was satisfied, but the doctor told me that I had cataracts and he sent me to a specialist. The specialist confirmed my cataracts, but told me that I did not need surgery yet. I went back today for new glasses and I told MeMe that I was going to shop around and she provided prices for their glasses. I am likely to return to this location for my glasses unless I can find them at a much cheaper price else where. All of the staff as well as the doctor were very nice. read more

I went their with my wife for our eye test .i had my vision Insurance but my wife didn't had coverage for second test in same year so was supposed to pay $59.and I paid it and no issues their.Dr did checkup and tests and recommended one eye drop and eye mask. Thy billied my medical insurance $110 and received it after couple of weeks Dr medication had some issue and we had to see Dr next day. By far the worst experience! Not only was their blood pressure machine off and they took my temp after standing outside Which hello it will be high ! The doctor was not friendly. They didn't have my power of contacts and you could tell he was getting mad that it wasn't working. And he was pushy I think they will work for now until I get you another power in! Then the front desk said not sure when they will be in due to COVID! I spent $150 for nothing and now I am sitting at another office getting what I need. My optometrist for the last decade (whom I love) sadly does not take my new vision insurance. After searching through the available providers, I liked this office has more extended hours...so I decided to give them a try. When I called to schedule my appointment, the lady I spoke with was an absolute delight. (Shame on me for not noting her name!) She reminded me of the ladies I have come to love at my former optometrist's office, so we were off to a good start. She was able to schedule a same day appointment for late in the afternoon. The surrounding construction made it near impossible to park at this building, but that's not Eyecare Plus' fault. In fact, the new bridge has been built literally in front of this business where one cannot directly access it from Memorial. I parked in a back lot across a road and walked, dodging pavement pounders/rollers/whatever-else-those-road-things-are along the way. Although, this will be somewhat fixed as time drones on.... I completed their patient information form in advance, and brought it with me to save some time - much to the delight of the office staff. I waited less than 10 minutes before we started the usual routine stuff. Ya know...air puffs in your eye holes that make you jump regardless of how much you remind yourself of what's coming, the photo machine that saves you from dilation (yeah, totally love that thing in lieu of), and the classic hot air balloon/"I'm seeing green shadows!" machine. The tech that administered my tests was super sweet; heck, she seemed almost nervous. Nevertheless, she did a great job explaining my options insurance wise, as well as what to expect on each part of the diagnostic testing. After a few more classic eye tests with the tech, my exam and results review with the doc commenced. I really like Dr. Biehler! I've had some interesting medical history in the last year, and she appeared genuinely interested with her questions and recommendations. After my appointment, I started looking at frames with the help from another staff member (Mary?). She was helpful in trying to help me find the right pair in style and size -- occasionally pulling frames from the "stash" underneath the frame display. Unfortunately, this is where I feel I settled. My initial concern was cost, but when I couldn't find very many frames I liked, I no longer cared about price - it was more of just finding something I liked at all. The frames I ultimately picked are good in their style and in how they fit my small face. However, I don't care for the color at all. There were not any others to choose from in that style, so I was kinda, well...stuck. Yes, I realize I didn't have to purchase my glasses here, but I just wanted to be done with the process. What a great experience! It was a Saturday and my husband was helping at the family farm when a rusty nail popped out of some wood and hit him in the eye. After several hours of discomfort, I called Eyecare Plus and said can you see us? They said come in immediately, were waiting for us at the front door, and took my husband back while I completed all paperwork. They even allowed me to park in front of the building and leave the car running because I had our family dog with us!!! Great care, prompt, responsive and just a wonderful experience after what could have been a serious accident. Wear those safety goggles, folks!!!! read more

I'd had trouble setting up an eye appointment at some other places, so a friend who had had a great experience pointed me to Eyecare Plus. Wow. First, they offered me lots of options for an appointment, including that very afternoon. I snagged it! When I got to the building, I was welcomed and made to feel quite at home. I had a full eye health screening and got a new prescription pronto and with appreciation for my vision difficulties. Everyone at this office -- from reception to the doctor to the techs -- was wonderful. The ins and outs of my insurance and their offers were laid out clearly. SENIORS BEWARE!!! - DO NOT PRE-PAY ANY CHARGES BEFORE YOUR INSURANCE PAYS. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE OVERCHARGED OVER $600 AND THE OFFICE WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY TYPE OF DETAILED BILLING STATEMENT OR EXPLANATION. HERE ARE THE DETAILS OF OUR EXPERIENCE: In September, I called Cigna to find out if there were eye care providers in the Cigna network in the Murfreesboro area. I was given 3 different providers and I called Eye Care Plus on Memorial Drive in Murfreesboro to schedule an annual eye exam for myself and my husband. We were charged $228.00 for the exams. I received a 6 month supply of my contact lens prescription and we did opt for the eye photos instead of the dilation of eyes and that was supposed to be $50 extra each. My husband was diagnosed with glaucoma and given a prescription for eye drops (that he filled at Publix) and he was told to make a return visit in 2 weeks. When he came back for his follow up visit, he was told that his insurance did not pay for his initial exam, and that he needed to pay $390.00, which he did by credit card. A couple of weeks after this, we received an Explanation of Benefits from Cigna. Cigna paid $608.68 for my eye exam and contacts and my responsibility was $5. Cigna paid $40.00 for my husband's eye exam and his responsibility was zero. Eye Care Plus also filed claims with our vision insurance, Superior Vision and were paid a total of $240.00 for our exams and my contacts. So, Eye Care Plus has been paid $1,506.68 for 2 routine eye exams, my 6-month contact lens refill and a follow-up visit by my husband. I called their office because I felt we had been overcharged and were due a refund. I was told that they had not received any money from Cigna and our account was correct. They said they would be on the lookout for the payments from Cigna and would let me know when they arrived. I waited 2 more weeks and called back to see if they had received payment from Cigna. I told them I would be glad to bring my receipts and insurance statements because I didn't understand the charges. The girl I spoke with checked with someone else there, saying "Where did this payment go" and the reply was "I wrote it off" and I was promptly disconnected. I called back and was told that they still had not received payment from Cigna. I asked if I could come down there with my paperwork and go over the charges with someone in their billing department and was told that they did not have anyone who could help me. I called Cigna and was told that both claims were paid in September. I have never in my life been treated so rudely and dismissively. At this point, I feel like my only options are to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Cigna, contest the charges with my credit card provider and do my best via social media and word of mouth about how rudely and dishonestly Eye Care Plus treated me and my husband. Sadly, I don't believe this is an isolated incident. I believe this is their standard operating practice. Instead of honoring their contract with Cigna, which would have paid them $648.68, leaving us with $10 to pay, they took advantage of 2 seniors charging us an additional $618.00 and refused to provide me with an itemized statement or any sort of explanation about their billing. read more

We came into town from Atlanta for a soccer tournament but forgot our daughter's bathroom bag. I called this practice at 8:30. By 10am we were walking out with a prescription and new contacts. The staff didn't act like we were inconveniencing them at all. I was so impressed with the entire experience, especially Megan at the front desk. Last year I decided to go to Eyecare Plus to get a prescription for contact lenses and glasses. I was very clear when I went in that I was on an extremely tight budget due to disability and I would not have tons of money to spend. Given that I was having some issues seeing, I had to be seen over several visits, but the way I was billed was such that I ended up paying so much for all the visits that I couldn't afford to actually buy any contacts or glasses. The biggest issue was that I was post-cataract surgery and it was unclear if I would need prism lenses, progressives, or what else. My eyes were difficult to fit for contacts because they didn't seem to take well to the multifocal lenses so it required multiple returns after trying lenses to find a way to work out the prescription. To make matters worse, my glasses prescription was ultimately incorrect. I found this out when I finally decided to order glasses through Zenni online because I simply had no money left to spend on this and just needed an inexpensive way to be able to see. The glasses I got were nice and the prescription in them matches what was prescribed, but it is apparently not the correct prescription for my eyes. My insurance did cover the visits, but the office billed like every single thing that was done was a separate occurrence. I feel like people who are more difficult to fit with a proper prescription should be fit until the proper prescription is found, not billed for multiple visits. The contact lens fitting fee is already high, and the whole point of having a contact lens fitting fee is to determine which contacts will work for the patient. Sometimes that takes multiple visits. So I won't be returning to this place, although I did really like the doctor. However, I can't afford to pay $300 or $400 dollars just to be seen enough to find what will work to help me see. I really need to be able to have the money for BOTH the appointment and fittings AND the contacts and glasses. Of course, by this point the prescription is expired, so if I still want contacts then I am stuck having to pay another fitting fee somewhere. It's very discouraging. read more

The girls do not provide enough information on how they charge your insurance. BE AWARE PEOPLE!! I liked the doctor and wanted to recommend it to people. However, I am disappointed at what I experienced in their office! They make you sit behind different robots and machines to have pictures or tests on your eyes and NOT MENTIONING how much it cost you!!! First I thought the tests are a part of routine exam that insurance will cover it but at the end they tell you since they are SPECIALIZED office, those test are not a part of routine exam and can cost a fortune to you!! First visit with them took 2 hours!! Way too long for regular appointment. Although they did try to sell me on an extra $50 test as opposed to the dilation.. I declined. Dr. Biehler ordered too many drops in my eyes (2 as opposed to 1 for dilation)-- I could not see for 6+ hours and was not able to go back to work that day. One entire day off work for a simple check up. They in NO WAY explained to me eyes would be potentially dilated & unable to see for 6+ hours. I've had my eyes dilated before & have never experienced that time delay. They should warn people not only when booking appt but also while there-- your day is done! read more
