Used to come here all the time when Tom and his family were the owners starting in about 1988 or…read moreso. That was some years ago. Prior to several weeks ago, the last I was here was around the time the pandemic started. I was there to get some straw bales for the garden. Finally used them all up and went back the other day to get just one bale to use for padding to store apples and various bulbs for the winter. The young woman behind the counter was very helpful and pleasant explaining the options and what was available. So I made my purchase and went to the storage area to pick up the bale. The bale that was pulled for me was about 1/3 damp/wet and not appropriate for the intended use. I asked the young man for another that was right there and he said the was for another order and he had to load up the flatbed with it and told me to move my car. I did so. I cleared some space for the bale and he drove off. I waited. There were no other bales that were dry. Most bales were stacked about 20-30 feet high and not accessible. He returned about 10-15 minutes later. Parked his vehicle, jumped out and grabbed his walkie talkie as he got out and made a call and walked away. Never acknoweldged I was still there. Never asked if he could help. Looked at me while he was starting to talk and walked off to the main building. I waited a few minutes. Never came back. I went in to the main building to ask for my money back. The entire staff was engaged in cornering a squirrel that had gotten in to the building. Finally another fellow (older. the owner?) asked if I needed help. I asked for my money back. He asked if there was a problem and I explained the above. Whereupon the young man asked if I had a problem with him. When I said that I did, he became belligerent and verbally abusive. He told me that I could and should have taken another bale. When I pointed out that they all were wet and that the dry ones required machinery to get down, he told me that I should have told him. Like, when? When he was driving away? When he was on the phone and walking away? He told me that I should have come back and asked for a refund. Hell, I wanted a dry bale, not the refund. And somehow I was supposed to know all of this in the moment without any offer of help or curiosity of what I was still there leaning against my car when he returned. It deteriorated from there with him seeming to suggest that he was going to fight/hit me right there in the main building. Unbelievable! I got my refund. I left and told them I would never be back and that I would let others know of my experience. Consider yourselves informed.

Some time ago I bought a $200+ Gallagher rodent trap that did not work and reported this to a store clerk. He replied that I was the only one who had made such a claim. I later learned that an Eldorado friend had complained about her non-functioning trap to the same clerk and he told her the same thing. Sometime later, I returned to the store to complain about the trap not working. The clerk admitted that a number of these traps were indeed malfunctioning and was told that they were waiting for parts. I regularly checked in over the weeks and was told each time that they were still waiting for parts. Some time later, I returned to the store, and the clerk took a look to see if he could fix it. After checking in with him over the next few weeks, he finally called to say he had repaired it. However, I soon discovered that the canister part was still leaking. Some time later, I returned to the store and spoke with Steve. who gave me the number to the manufacturer to call and arrange a shipment and exchange. At that time, Steve stated that he takes care of his customers. When I called, the manufacturer rep asked why the store wasn't handling this. I realized that I, a regular customer, was caught in a shipment war between Steve and the manufacturer. Not cool. Some time later, I returned to the store and spoke with the clerk, who took my faulty trap and added it to a box containing other parts and traps behind the counter. He said that they were going to ship it to the manufacturer for exchanges. Finally, the issue with my expensive purchase would be resolved. Not so. Some time later, I returned to the store and noticed that the box was still behind the counter, weeks later. I asked the clerk about it, and he said they were still arguing over who would pay for the shipment. I wrote to Steve last week that it is well past time for him to either replace my purchase with a working trap, reimburse my purchase, or credit me the $200+. I've not heard back.

We had a great experience dealing with Sierra West. Tyler was extremely kind, patient, helpful,…read morehumble -- and a great communicator. He found us the right oven and instead of upselling, he actually recommended the most practical product for my needs. I love when companies are treating me how they'd want to be treated, helping me make a decision that's best for me, not selling me the priciest product I won't need. Tyler recommended a wonderful GM double oven that I now have had for maybe half a year -- beautiful oven and I've been enjoying it. GM is a great brand! My unit is older so the space available for the stove was smaller than the standard. We asked Tyler if he could find maybe a European brand that would fit and still be good and he did -- Bertazzoni! Never heard of them before Tyler found them but the stove he found was so terrific -- better than any stove I've had before. I cook quite a bit and this thing has been a BLAST to use. I especially love the center burner, it has ZERO issue in bringing things to a boil, which can be an issue at altitude and has been and I sometimes make small amounts. This thing is the most powerful burner/stove -- yesterday I brought 6 liters of preserves to a boil VERY quickly -- my old burner wouldn't be able to do it at all. I am now a fan of Bertazzoni stoves. And it's smaller so it fits right into my space but still amazingly powerful. When they came to install, there were some issues with the fit, they took great care of it and were very professional, conscientious, and pleasant to deal with. There was a slight issue a few weeks after the installation -- I think maybe one of doors on the oven was a bit loose. Tyler came over himself within a day or two and took care of the problem. This has been such a wonderful experience -- dealing with Sierra West had been a blast and Tyler as well as all his coworkers were honest, conscientious, and helpful. I felt like I could trust them and they were looking out for me. Most importantly, I am now enjoying my new beautiful oven and stove. Based on this experience, I would recommend Sierra West and Tyler highly for your appliance needs. Thank you!
