Crunchy Bowl (16 oz), OAK Palmer, coconut smoothie
    Brenda L.

The good: I had the Arnold Palmer açaí drink (a special), their crunchy açaí cup and the pink coconut açaí drink. I customized my açaí "bowl" (they actually give it in cups) by asking for almond butter. The Palmer drink was refreshing and had a nice citrusy tang. My husband liked the coconut smoothie drink the best. The interior is modern, trendy and fun with light wooden panels and neon lights. We always crave açaí bowls on sunny days like today! They're located waking distance to the beach so this is a great item to pickup for a beach picnic. The bad: The cup format leaves less room for toppings. I'd like more toppings on my açaí. The açaí had a bubblegum flavor that my husband liked but I didn't care for. The bathroom was a bit messy. There's no outdoor seating area. It's costly. The smoothie drink was over $13. For all 3 items it was over $45. The interesting: They sell merchandise that included a sweater and pickleball racquet.

Her pretending to be busy all of a sudden as we walk out due to terrible attitude.

Walked in and the only worker was on her phone. Me and my friend both have strollers and babies and she insisted on us using the kiosk to order instead of just taking our order..claiming to be busy but was just on her phone since we walked in. I said "6 people that walked in behind us are using it, can you just take our order? " she said no and went back to her phone. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, terrible customer service. Paradise bowls right down the street is better and the customer service was up to par. Actually insane how rude this girl was, it was clear we had babies and strollers and taking our order would've made our lives easier and she was not doing anything to prevent her from doing so. I'll include a photo of her so you can avoid her at all costs.

I had Oakberry in Brazil, which was one of the best açaí bowls I've ever had, so I'm glad they also have this chain in the US. This place is super close to the beach, but parking can be a bit difficult to find. I ordered a Classic Bowl with lots of different toppings and it was delicious. The only thing was the açaí was very watery and didn't have the right texture as other açaí spots. However, the taste and toppings still hit the spot, just wished the consistency was normal.

I always love the quality and taste of Oakberry açaí. There's unlimited toppings to choose from so I can add whatever I want from their menu. It's refreshing and delicious whenever I get it. The workers are nice and it's not busy inside. There's lots of seating around and areas to sit at.

I love this spot!! Malacai was so friendly and nice! Very welcoming! The matcha açaí bowl was to die for!!! This is at a great location!

The Hermosa location recommended that I use Uber eats to take advantage of a BOGO Free Açaí Bucket. They walked me through purchasing but unfortunately the order went to the Manhattan Beach location. After arriving to MB the only had one bucket for my order. I showed them the promo (attached) and because it only showed one count they wouldn't cancel the order or refund or simply give me the 2nd bucket. The Hermosa location even called her informing them they had helped me place the order. I literally paid and it was a BOGO Free. They could have just gave me the additional bucket but refused because the bucket count said 1!!! Absolutely horrible logic, problem solving and customer service!

They had a lot of choices for toppings, which is good, but it's served in a cup instead of a bowl so makes it kind of awkward to eat. But the real reason I'm not giving it more stars is the açai itself was super sweet, definitely not to my taste.

Service was quick and friendly , got the matcha bowl but didn't taste any matcha in the chia pudding.Acai on the other hand was great! Not too sweet and just the right amount of toppings.

This was after the first sip of my smoothie. I later completely crumbled after the 4th sip and i had to through it out.

The other açaí store I normally go to was pretty packed so I decided to go into Oakberry when I walked by. Never did I think out of the worst straw I've ever had in my entire life. I ordered a large and within two sips the straw broke and was inside of my smoothie. I couldn't be more sure that the company's gonna go out of business, and it was clear to me why nobody was in that store. Sending this as a business owner, who is always trying to improve, hopefully you guys figure it out. lol

Absolutely the most disgusting smoothie I have ever had -within 2 minutes of purchasing it was in the trash. The flavors were unrecognizable, It was so sweet you could barely stomach a sip of it.... had I not been late for work I would have walked back down the hill and asked for my money back. I have never left a yelp review before but didn't want anyone else to throw away $15 or more.....save yourself the cash and go elsewhere.

The combination of the various textures and the amazing flavors left me so happy. The loaded bagel was another favorite: Gluten Free Everything Bagel with Mort & Betty's Lemon & Scallion Cashew Cream Cheese, Organic Tomatoes, Red Onions, Capers, Dill. I love red onions and they were generous with it on top, so for those that find it overpowering you can modify the order. It was almost too pretty to eat. I honestly stopped by mainly to try the café since I was in the area, and I'm so glad I did. Since I love exploring and café hopping, this place was a really nice find. From the taste of the food, it's easy to tell they take their time preparing everything, and it truly shows. I tried the Bang Bang lentil bowl, which was flavorful and very nourishing, and for juice I ordered the Solar Citrus, which was absolutely refreshing. The food felt organic and fresh, with a good variety of vegan options. Kennedy and Meredith were great with service, warm, attentive, and made the experience even better. The overall atmosphere was calm and not chaotic at all. Before coming, I also confirmed whether the café was open to the public, and it is. You don't need to be a member to enjoy it. The café area is perfect for bringing a laptop or book without distractions. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back.

All the servers were warm and beyond the usual helpfulness. My friend saw an empty table they needed to be wiped so she asked a server for a towel to wipe it. He immediately said, "No, I'll do it." And he grabbed a towel and wiped in extra well with a smile. Two of us ordered the Buddha vegan bowl (9/10; quinoa was fluffy, tofu was tasty but a little firm for me, everything else about it was fresh and well-done. The mushroom serving was my favorite part.) My friend ordered the Beef Macro bowl (9/10: beef was the best part and everything else was good. The wild rice was tender; but it tastes "healthy"). My last friend ordered the salmon bowl (9/10: all of us raved about the salmon. Had the same wild rice. I liked it but my friend said it was too soft for her. The rest of the items that came with it were similar and tasty). Before I left, Molly helped me order a mushroom reishi hot chocolate drink. Molly was so sweet and helpful. She recommended the homemade almond milk. (8/10). The ambiance was warm and cozy. I loved the multi-level structure. Therefore, the name, "The Hive". Cute design and a good place to bring a computer and have a quiet spot to chill.

There's tons of parking and eateries around the corner. This Whole Foods is large and spacious. There's a variety of baked goods and prepared foods ready to grab and go. There's a pizza counter where slices are sold, and sandwiches and sushi freshly made. However, their freezer section where the ice cream is held doesn't seem to be working well. The ice cream containers have ice on them, as if they're not being kept at the proper temperature. I mentioned that to the checker and she agreed. She also mentioned several other Whole Foods locations with the same issue. Other supermarkets don't have that problem. I don't understand why Whole Foods doesn't resolve it. Otherwise, we enjoyed the ice cream selections that we did buy.
