My family and I have been coming to this office for over a decade, and they've been so helpful with our general well-being. From the office staff to the 3 chiropractors, everyone is warm and welcoming here. The chiropractors are all great at what they do, and have different techniques. I've always had hip and neck issues, and after trying other offices, Dr. Verma was the only one who could relieve it. He's really good at assessing the core of the issue. In addition to giving a strong adjustment, he's given me advice on other methods to help with the pain. Dr. Mylo has a very gentle technique with his adjustments. He has a calm, relaxed way about him, and is really great at not forcing the adjustment. If one method doesn't work, he will figure out a different technique to address the issue. Dr. Roverso is also amazing. His adjustments are strong and very exact. He's also a physical trainer, so he knows precisely where to concentrate on if I overexert myself from working out or playing a sport. For sports injuries, he's definitely your guy. Very happy that we found this office years ago. They've kept our family relatively pain-free. read more

Great Customer Service from Staff and Chiropractors! Very friendly and professional and my aches and pains are getting better

I've been seeing Dr. Verma for neck pain and upper back tightness, and I am feeling better after a few adjustment sessions with him. He's highly knowledgeable, friendly, and always takes the time to answer all my (many!) questions patiently and clearly. Tami at the front desk is also fantastic--super welcoming and always a pleasure to interact with. I highly recommend Oakbay to anyone looking for quality chiropractic care. read more

I enjoyed my first visit to Oakbay Chiropractic for a massage and a follow up visit to get a overall chiropractic evaluation. I found Georgina, my massage therapist, to be very attentive and gave a very good massage in a very calm and soothing environment. Dr. Milo, my chiropractor, gave a very complete evaluation of my current physical condition before proceeding with my initial treatment. After the treatment he suggested some follow up visits to resolve some issues which could not be resolved in a single visit. I found that both Georgina and Dr Milo provide both quality and excellent care that I was expecting. read more

If you like having your money taken without justification and treated like just a commodity or insurance number, then you should seek services here. I saw Dr. Magtoto around six times, starting last year, and I appreciated his level of care. I've seen a number of chiropractors in my lifetime, going back to being a high-school athlete. I know what I like and need and not every chiropractor is a great fit. Dr. Magtoto was good in both his treatment and attention he paid. He gave me some good insight to what was going on in some new pain and discomfort in my shoulders and neck area even. I was very content with seeing him and grateful. That changed when they started charging me more money beyond my co-pay, however. Starting in January of this year, I got billed for $50, instead of the usual co-pay of $15. When I inquired as to why, the billing person first said it was because my insurance stopped paying for a particular treatment. When I asked what specifically, she said "tissue work." I called my insurance and they told me that there's nothing they could see that they had stopped paying for. When I followed up with the billing person about what treatments I've specifically being given, she sent me a screen shot of the invoice showing me specifically it was "neuromuscular reeducation" treatment that they started charging me for. I don't know specifically what that was. The Dr. uses some device that "thumps" me to begin the session, so I asked if it was that. I, also, asked if I'm able to reject anything more than what my insurance is covering. Days alter, I received an email from Dr. Magtoto telling me he can't treat me anymore, blaming my insurance. I was surprised and annoyed. I never said I wouldn't pay for the session, I was trying to get more information on what exactly it was that I was paying for. As I told the doctor, in the least, I expected to be told beforehand that my costs would go up, instead of just being charged more without me knowing why. I admit, my HMO is inadequate, but so are too many doctors and offices with their unprofessionalism and disorganization. read more

Office staff was so nice a d helpful. Dr. Mylo was very thorough and the care he provided was high quality. I got an alignment and consult and I'm super excited to continue coming here! read more

I've been coming here for a few years. Dr. Mylo is my chiropractor and he has always been wonderful. The staff has also been friendly and helpful. They have helped fit me in when I had sudden neck or back pains after a trip, recreational injury, or just a stretch of work sitting wrong at a computer screen. But, can also help me plan out ahead to keep my body on track. Everything in their office leaves me feeling positive when I leave. read more

Dr. Verma was wonderful. He knows how to ease your pain and give you homework to do some of the techniques at home. He puts you at ease. read more

They hook my Husband up all of the time! We initially wanted to stay in the Laurel District so we can support the local community, but not one Chrio accepted Kaiser, so my Husband now will be a customer for life. I have been suffering for over 18 years with piriformis syndrome. During all that time I have been unable to sit for no more than 5 minutes. Dr.Milo has helped me to gradually feel less pain . I can never express in words how thankful I am to him. My chronic pain is gone , I can't believe it! I was referred to Dr. Verma a while back for my lower back pain and I immediately felt comfortable with him. While he did a great job with my adjustment, he does an even better job assisting with formulating an overall wellness plan for the whole person. Oakbay is not only a safe space for your body, but your spirit as well. I highly recommend their care to anyone seeking a well rounded whole body and mind experience with their chiropractor. read more

Dr. Verma is incredible. He absolutely goes above and beyond to make sure his patients are healthy, happy, and pain free. After years of hunching over at my computer started to really impact my range of movement, he relieved the immediate pain, and also helped me figure out the right stretches to do at home so I wouldn't have to come see him regularly. But I do. If only for the dad jokes... read more

My husband started seeing Dr. Mylo a couple of weeks before I did and I'm so glad he introduced me to him! I've been seeing Dr. Mylo every week since August and I don't know what I would do without his help. I'm so happy Dr. Mylo's office is still open during this pandemic, because I believe more than ever, it is important to take care of your body during this crazy time. Having to now take care of a baby, my neck and back constantly feel tense and Dr. Mylo does a really thorough job making sure my whole body is in tip-top shape. He also does a massage technique to help ease all my tense muscles, including my arms and wrists that have been hurting! I would highly recommend Dr. Mylo if you're looking for a chiropractor! read more

Mylo Magtoto is outstanding. Most recently I started getting excruciating pain in my heels -- bone spur. Friends started sharing stories of surgery, etc. Instead I went to Mylo -- within a few sessions, pain gone, feet back in shape and no issues. He is amazing. Years ago I was a skeptic ... now I can't imagine not getting preventative "tune-ups" from Mylo -- definitely makes my quality of life much better! read more

I started seeing Mylo Magtoto here a few months ago, and my experience has been fantastic! I've had other chiropractic adjustments in the past, however this has been the most relief (short & long term) I've experienced. Mylo takes the time to address my concerns during each session and provides a tailored adjustment. These sessions have really helped me manage my scoliosis and ongoing pain from using a computer all day long. The small office has a very friendly atmosphere, with plenty of easy parking. Reception is great to deal with. They care about their patients here and it really shows. Mylo & Oakbay are highly recommended! read more

Had a great first chiropractic experience here! I was nervous, but Dr. Milo and the rest of the staff were great, I walked away feeling wonderful. Highly recommend. read more

I was a patient for a few months here. I had Mylo as my chiropractor. Although he had a slightly off putting attitude that seemed overly rigid at times the care I received was satisfactory. He convinced me to try their custom orthopedics in late 2023 to help with some of the things I went to see him for. So I did. They told me I could return within a year if it wasn't satisfactory. Fast forward a few months and I stopped going because I realized if I stretched before and after exercise, did stability and strength training my issues greatly lessened. I was still trying out the orthopedics for a few months after to see if they made a difference and I determined they did not. I was still WELL within the return window so I reached out to return them in January 2024. They had me meet with Mylo in February 2024 to debrief what happened with them and I just told them I didn't notice a change to warrant the price of the orthopedics, that I found a much cheaper and effective method of providing relief that actually made a difference (Dr Scholl's sports inserts + silicon toe spacers in a wide toe box shoe ). I gave them back the custom insoles and then he says "Let's see if the company that made them takes them back and then you'll get your refund." I said ok but in my mind I'm thinking, "this was not what was told to me at the time of purchase. There was no let's see if the company will take them back, it was you can return them within a year". So fast forward to now, it's April 2024. I had to call 3-4 times to get them to give me my refund over the course of 2 months. The last time I called I asked why my money had not been refunded, the receptionist said it was supposed to be but wasn't for some unknown reason. The money had just not been released. So I was a little rude, not because I wanted to be but because I feel like scammers like them need to experience a show of force to know you're not the one they can win with, they'll have to move on to someone else. I do feel this place was a bit scammy from this experience I'm sad to say. I didn't expect it from them since everyone was pretty nice. But me having to call multiple times, each time except the last I was very polite despite it not being my job to make sure I was refunded promptly. It was almost like they're just used to ppl giving up if they wait it out. Ridiculous. I shouldn't have had to get a little rude for my money to be released. When I did, my refund was released literally in 2 days. Seriously disappointing. I'm glad I got my money back but the experience was unpleasant. read more

Thank you Dr. Verma. I have visited many other chiropractors and acupuncturists for almost two years due to pain in my glute muscle which led to lower back pain. Yes, this is all connected because I learned about the psoas muscle from Dr.Verma. None of the other medical facilities disclosed this to me. After two months of weekly visits, my body's ability to adjust itself began to improve. Now I continue to do yoga and practice the methods Dr.Verma has shared. I am grateful for Oakbay Chiropractic. The knowledge and experience they have will only help you get better, but you have to trust the process. read more

There are so many excellent things to say about Oakbay, and most of it has already been shared on the previous reviews. So I'll just verify that the office staff is amazing (professional, caring, efficient) and the chiropractors are amazing (knowledgable, timely, skilled). I've been treated for severe back pain several times over the years and have always healed well and in the time my body needed. Ther doctors take the time to explain what is happening and what they are doing to treat the symptoms, including stretching and posture advice for continued back health. I highly recommend Oakbay Chiropractic services. read more

I got into a car accident recently and chose Oakbay through a list of partners with my insurance. Dr. Mylo and the front office staff are always so kind. I'd like to think that always feeling welcomed and being greeted with a smile is the first step in someone's road to being treated/feeling better. I've seen other chiropractors before who aren't nearly as personable or thorough, but at Oakbay, I appreciate the education you get about your injuries, what working (or overworking) on some muscles will do to your body, the tests that are done, and the after-care. My only critique is about the additional charge for massage (considering it's a short appointment) on top of my co-pay. Personally, it makes it feasibly unsustainable for me to come as often as I wish because I genuinely like Oakbay and their team. I won't knock a star off for it because holistically, the experience is great, and it has truly helped with feeling normal again, post-car accident. read more

Had my first (and last) chiropractic appointment with Dr. Sidharth Verma about 6 weeks ago. I was charged $100.00 for a 10 minute appointment and all I got for my money was a sales pitch for deep tissue massage and a neck adjustment which took him all of 2 seconds. He went through the motions of adjusting my back, but he did not actually adjust it. Apparently he was going to allow me to believe that he had adjusted my back, however, I'm not new to chiropractic treatment - I've had many many chiropractic adjustments in my lifetime, and I know whether I've been adjusted or not. He only admitted that he had not done any adjustments on my back after I said something. He then claimed my back was "too tight" for him to adjust it. First time I ever heard that. Frankly, I think he's more of a masseuse than a chiropractor. Unfortunately he advertises himself as a chiropractor. Since then, I've found a wonderful chiropractor who has helped me enormously. I don't blame him for being an unskilled chiropractor - I'm sure he does his best, however to take my money for nothing - that I do blame him for. I just can't afford to throw money away like that. He's a very smooth guy, nice office, pretty receptionist, but a good chiropractor he is not. My recommendation is if you want a good chiropractic adjustment, keep looking - read more

I've always been wary of chiropractors because they crack your back and neck and it just sounded gross and painful yet many swore by their chiropractic sessions, that it helped alleviate pain. A year after being in a pretty serious car accident, I decided to try chiropractic care to see if they could help alleviate pain in my upper back and increase the range of motion in my neck. I saw Dr. Mylo who was extremely calm and caring. He explained the procedures. He also took time to explain why I was still experiencing pain and stiffness in my neck. He cracked my neck and back. I can't tell you how anxious I was about having my neck cracked but it was easy, just the sound was unnerving. I came for about 6 sessions to address my neck and back. To be honest, I didn't feel a significant difference but then Dr. Mylo suggested for me to come 3x/week which I just couldn't do because of my work schedule. I eventually stopped coming due to work and plus the copayments were just adding up that I couldn't afford it. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Mylo and their office. Parking is easy, however, it is metered. read more

If you are looking for a chiropractor, then it is the place to go! The staff is super nice and helpful. I've seen three of the doctors there: Dr. Romo, Dr. Mylo, and Dr. Verma and they are all very friendly and awesome. So if you need an adjustment or just want to meet some nice people, then come here. read more

Dr. Mylo has only been treating me for a few months and i have seen a major change in my face and body. The littlest adjustments can do wonders for anyone. I had always been scared of going to the chiropractor (something about bones cracking didn't sit well with me) but I needed relief from sciatic pain immediately. That's exactly what I got and then some! After three years of getting wonderful service, I feel like I'm part of the Oakbay family. The administrative staff always greet patients with a smile and have a helpful attitude. Dr. Verma is my chiropractor and I can't say enough good things about him. In addition to being an excellent practitioner who has deep knowledge of his craft, he LISTENS to me, is attentive and kind. Dr. Verma is also incredibly honest and will not try to "sell" you treatments that you don't need. His recommendations are based on best practice for his patients, not profits for his business. Lastly, I will say that Oakbay is taking EVERY precaution necessary to keep their patients safe during the COVID pandemic so that people who need treatment are not waiting for months to get care. All of the staff are wearing masks, provide masks as needed, ask screening questions, and have spaced out appointments so that patients are not waiting for care. You can rest assured that Oakbay has your back :) read more

I love this place! I have been going here for over 10 years. I even sometimes go to Oakland specifically to visit Oakbay, even though it is out of my way. I have seen Dr. Corwin, Dr. Verma and Dr. Milo. I like them all. From swimming, biking, running (and various accidents I have managed to get myself into over the years) I manage to really mess up my back. And they can always fix it! Dr. Corwin was the Olympic chiropractor in the Seoul Olympics (that was what attracted me to their add in the yellow pages). Therefore, many of the doctors have a sports focus..or some type of training, I think. Anyway, they even give athlete/student discounts if your insurance doesn't cover your visit. I wouldn't trust anyone cracking my back into place...but these people really know what they are doing. read more

From the front desk ladies to the doctors, everything about this place is legit. Courteous, professional service, knowledgeable and experienced. I get adjusted once a month preventatively and couldn't recommend it more. If you're looking for a great chiropractic experience, this is your place. And you can book an affordable massage right there as well! Love supporting local Oakland businesses, and these guys deserve it! read more

I have always found Dr. Verma and Magtoto to be skilled professionals, who provide excellent care while cultivating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. They have employed an exceptionally friendly and competent office staff, and maintain a clean and modern facility. While visiting us from L.A. my friend's father hurt his lower back. He was so impressed with the Drs. ability to see him, and quality of care that he raved about it for the rest of his trip! Whether as a new or one-time patient, or if you are looking to establish a long-term care regimen these are the doctors to see!!! read more

My whole family has been seen at Oakbay. I have seen many chiropractors over the years, and Dr. Verma is the very best. He is completely professional, and cares deeply about his patients. He has helped us through two pregnancies, numerous sports injuries, an accident and everything in between. The office staff is on top of everything and super friendly. I've also had fabulous massages there. When Dr. Verma isn't available, I've seen Dr. Magtoto who was also amazing. Thank you Oakbay! read more

Oh, man I love this place. I love the Active Release therapy, Dr. Milo and Dr. Verma are super down-to-earth and innovative in their approach to chiropractic. Dr. Verma is still top dog, in my book! I'm moving back to the area and so happy! One of the reasons is that I get to come back to my favorite Chiro! Dr. V got me in last minute. I have had neck, shoulder, nerve pain forever. I've seen endless physical therapists, acupuncturists, masseurs, and chiropractors (including Saul, who promised he'd heal me, but "very slowly cause he needed the money"). Long story short, I found Dr. Mylo on yelp, and I'm so glad I did, because he's the first of any of them who has actually, legitimately, noticeably, taken the pain away. Seriously. Also, the office is clean and well-maintained, and the office staff is by far the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in this city. I started coming here before I got pregnant and come here still with my 3-month-old. As a new mom it's wonderful to have an environment that I feel comfortable coming to in this new phase of my life. Thanks Oakbay! read more

How do you spell relief? R-O-M-O! Dr. Romo is the best! I have a lot of pain and tension in my upper back and hips, most likely from sitting at a computer for long periods of time at work. Besides doing an adjustment he showed me some easy stretches I can do at my desk to prevent pain in the future. I've not seen any of the other Dr's at this practice but I have some very close friends who really love their visits with them! Highly recommend Dr. Romo and the entire staff at Oakbay! read more

I used to work at Oakbay, and one of the benefits of working there was that I got to be a patient as well. The staff and Doctors at Oakbay are amazing. They are always smiling and very helpful. Dr's. Verma and Magtoto are very good and skilled at what they do. Their treatment approaches are detailed and specific to each of their patients. They are proficient in the chiropractic field and supplement their care with ART (Active Release Technique), which is an ART in itself. I highly recommend Oakbay Chiropractic for your Chiropractic and Massage therapy needs. Check them out, you will not be dissapointed read more

I first came to Oakbay last January after I had the worst of many spasms in my psoas. I'd been having these episodes a few times a year and were getting progressively worse, throwing out my entire alignment to where I couldn't stand up past 45 degrees. The pain was intense, making it impossible to work for days at a time. After a bad experience with another chiro I had been seeing I said enough was enough. My co-worker suggest I see Dr. Bruce Rizzo for his ART therapy. He was out of my Kaiser network but I was desperate. When I called Dr. Rizzo's office they were booked several weeks out and referred me to Oakbay Chiropractic. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Oakbay accepted my insurance. Since then Dr. Verma has been a integral part of my self care routine and an overall positive force in my life. He not only takes his time to work through my laundry list of complaints (hips/neck/shoulders/back/wrists and even feet & jaw) but gives me tons of exercises and other techniques to get me through the weeks between visits. Since seeing him I haven't had a single spasm and I am in less pain in general. He is incredibly compassionate and cares deeply about his patients. I often joke that I don't need therapy because I have my sessions with Dr. Verma. He encourages me to prioritize indulging in self care and taking breaks from my demanding schedule. I thoroughly enjoy our time together. Unlike other chiropractors, he works towards long term solutions and I've been able to gradually stretch out my appointments. I no longer have chiropractic coverage but don't hesitate to pay out of pocket for his services (the package options are great!) I put off writing this review for ages because I didn't want to share my secret but I truly can't recommend Oakbay and their entire staff enough. I've seen Dr. Milo as well and he's equally as great! read more

Ah, yes, Dr. Mylo. Thanks for giving me my full range of motion back! I love OakBay... They've been with me longer than three boyfriends, two insurance companies and a few flings! I have been to my share of chiropractors, and I hate the back-cracking factories you sometimes find, but I also can't deal with touchy-feely "subtle" adjustments that make you feel like you are wasting your time. Not only are Dr. Mylo & Dr. Verma are running a great small business, but it's important to me to support practitioners of color, and they fit the bill. PROS: 1. Yummy steam heat before your adjustment to relax your muscles. 2. Truly well-rounded practitoiners - Dr, Mylo is not just a back guy; he has helped me with tendonitis in my elbow, carpal tunnel in my wrists, and even my flat arches! All you have to do is ask and he will adjust whatever joint ails you. Plus, he's trained in ART, (Active Reflex Therapy?), which is like a mini massage bonus with your adjustment. 3. Cheery, well-dressed and clearly happy office staff! Rebecca rocks! 4. They have taken all of my insurance, and even when Dr. Mylo was on vacation, Dr. Verma hooked me up lovely. 5. I can still go in at 6:15 after fighting Bay Bridge traffic! CONS: None! Dude, just go. I love them. read more

I absolutely will give Dr. Verma a 5 star. I went to see him about a year ago because of chronic shoulder pain from playing the guitar and difficulties when driving my car. After 2 years of being in chronic pain and a few sessions, I started feeling much better. I didn't think the pain could really go away after so long but slowly it did. Dr. Verma is kind and caring and takes time to explain everything at length and answer all your questions. He is very knowledgable and very willing to work with your particular situation. We adjusted my car seat together and found nice solutions that worked well for me. He does genuinely care about your health. Most recently I have gone back because I switched to a full time job on the computer and have had lower back pain and neck pain. I have seen him 3 times so far and it's already improved dramatically. I wish I could go see Dr. Verma more frequently as his treatments have really improved my overall health and well being. The office is very clean and well kept. All the staff for booking appointments is very professional and courteous. The system for online booking and confirmations and reminders is flawless and secretaries will do their best to schedule you and reschedule you last minute if you are having conflicts. You will not be disappointed. read more

I wanted to update my 2 year old review after going through a round of treatment during my first pregnancy. Naturally, I was nervous being treated during pregnancy (as a first time pregnant lady is generally nervous about most everything), but I felt very comfortable with Dr. Verma, knowing that he had two young boys and could relate to what I was going through, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I received treatment from the moment I knew I was pregnant, all the way until about week 35 when I was placed on (unrelated) bed rest. The adjustments and ART helped immensely with managing the changes my body was going through and the aches & pains caused by it. Post-partum, I had excruciating wrist pain and after 3 or 4 visits, along with following instructions for home care, my pain has completly subsided. Carrying around a growing baby has put new stress on my body, but the docs at Oakbay have always relieved the pain. Bonus: they actually encourage me to bring my baby to appointments so I don't have to deal with getting a sitter! read more

I've been training for an Ironman triathlon for the last 7 months. Two weeks ago, after a tough week of training, I strained my neck & back. I saw a massage therapist who suggested I see a chiropractor to correct the underlying issue of the muscle tension and inflammation I was experiencing. At this point, I had limited range of motion in my neck (affecting my breathing during swimming), and on the bike I was having stabbing pain in between my shoulder blades. A year prior, I had seen Dr. Mylo for nerve pain generating in my back and shooting up into my neck, and after only one treatment he had resolved the pain. I knew I had to go see him again for this injury. I was really worried because I had a (shorter distance) triathlon coming up in just 4 days, and was concerned that the adjustment would cause pain right before race-day. Dr. Mylo assessed my injury in a comprehensive manner, combining chiropractic adjustment with ART (Active Release Technique). He had me immediately ice my back and neck, told me to follow a strict icing regimen for the rest of the day, and to see him again one day before the race. I am so glad I followed my intuition and saw Dr.Mylo again. I had a GREAT race, getting the fastest swim time in my age group and 9th place in my division for the 112 mile bike ride. And I didn't experience a stitch of pain while in the water or on the bike. I couldn't be happier! I saw Dr. Mylo last week again (for maintenance up until Ironman) and plan to see him again. As he explains it, chiropractic care "trains" the nervous system into creating new neural pathways, initiating different motor recruitment patterns, so that your muscles finally stop compensating around injuries and firing properly. In short, you may require a few adjustments to get full relief, so your brain can re-teach your body to work normally again. It makes sense from a physiological standpoint and that's what's so cool about Dr. Mylo- he can explain all that in a digestible manner for lay-people like me If you're an athlete in need of relief from a punishing workout regimen - or even someone with an active lifestyle - I highly recommend Dr. Mylo. read more

Here's the downlow: I've been seeing a Chiropractor in Piedmont for the past two years and almost every time they adjust me, I'm always feeling some type of twinge or pain and have to go back to get re-adjusted! What a pain in the booty, not to mention embarassing! Enter Oakbay Chiropractic. Decided to try a new chiropractor and hooked up with Dr. Milo and can I just say how impressed I am with my first visit? Not only did they do a neck xray and feet scan but he also performed ART (Active Release Technique). No PAIN or twinge in my joints after an adjustment. My joints and muscles are so thankful! It's been approx. 5 sessions and my muscles, tendons, and joints feel amazing. And this is coming from a person who has been seeing a chiropractor on and off for about 20 years. And lastly, the women at the front desk are spectacularly nice and welcoming. It's top notch customer service and very happy to have found a new family to visit every week ;-) read more
