So so thankful I was referred to Dr. Baird from a friend. After pulling my lower back, I was nervous it would never be the same and I would have to slow down my workout regimen. Dr. Baird put me at ease with a thorough intro consult, even after the first session I had immediate relief - I couldn't believe the results. He goes out of his way to understand other painpoints on my body, and get ahead of them before becoming more serious. I would highly recommend him as a chiropractor whom I will see consistently to prevent future injury. Can't thank him enough! read more

Dr Baird is amazing and definitely knows what they're doing! After just two chiropractic sessions I already felt better and can't wait for my next one. The office is very clean and calm, relaxation comes effortless. The exercises I was told to do helped a lot as well! Thank you! read more

I've had a few sessions with Dr Baird and am having an excellent experience. His office is comfortable and professional. He listens attentively to your situation and discusses possible core issues affecting your pain. I've never been to a chiropractor before so was a little nervous, but am really pleased with the level care I'm receiving. After the first visit, I had immediate relief from pain I've been struggling with for months. It's also really easy to set up an appt and use his online platform. As a queer plus sized woman, I feel very comfortable and respected. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Baird at Riverstone Chiropractic for a few months now, and I definitely notice a difference in my mobility. The pain and stiffness in my back, neck, shoulders and hips has improved quite a bit. Dr. Baird is very skilled & has the greatest "bedside manner", in that they are very gentle and sensitive, but very effective. Dr. Baird is LGBTQ+ friendly, and is very kind, making sure to check in often and making sure to explain everything. They are not a "rack 'em & crack 'em" chiropractor. I highly recommend Dr. Baird for anyone. Those who have body/trust issues with medical folx or not-so-great experiences with chiropractors previously will find Dr. Baird a refreshing change. Dr. Sandy is a lifesaver. My back was killing me for a good six months. After my first visit with Sandy, my pain went from a consistent 8 or 9, to an occasional 1 or 2. He spent more time with me than most chiropractors, doing soft tissue work in addition to adjustments. He's warm and relatable. I've already recommended him to 3 friends! read more

Dr. Sandy Baird is knowledgeable, thorough and kind. His treatment really made a difference for my upper back. My spouse had great results healing her planner fasciitis. Highly recommend Dr. Baird! read more

Dr. Baird is amazing, he is caring, skillful and responsive. I was referred to Dr. Baird at a time when I was limited in mobility and experiencing a lot of pain. Within the first session he offered me relief. I needed several sessions, but have financial limitations and Dr. Baird was accommodating to my needs. I am feeling a lot better now within his care and would recommend anyone in physical pain and in need of adjustments to schedule a visit. read more

After weeks of struggle, Dr. Sandy alleviated my neck and shoulder pain significantly. I have experienced intense neck pain my whole life, stemming from a gymnastics injury and repetitive stress from computer use. Sandy compassionately asked me exploratory questions and used hands-on techniques to identify where I was experiencing blockages. He focused on the tender areas, and I could feel his skilled hands helping to release the pain. His targeted interventions provided me with immediate relief. He also recommended simple exercises to strengthen my neck between sessions, which have been incredibly helpful. This experience motivated me to seek regular care from him, and I trust that I am in good hands! read more

I would not recommend Dr. Baird to any hypermobile patients. I came in recently very excited as a trans & two spirit person needing chiropractic services to find a a chiropractor who was also trans, I left my appointment injured, unable to rotate my neck, with half my face numb, in worse pain than when I came in and even having some new pain that began to form. I sent a text message to address this and immediately experienced medical gaslighting from Dr. Baird saying it was "normal to be sore" this was not soreness. Dr. Baird Hyperextended and subluxated my cervical spine and worsened the hip issues I came in to mediate. I cannot believe I just paid someone to injure me! I've had many chiropractic adjustments in the past with a handful of different providers before and I have never left an appointment feeling worse than when I came in or like I developed a new injury from the services provided. It is really upsetting to experience such a trauma to the body and turn around and experience medical gaslighting from someone in your own community. I was about 6 minutes late due to a car issue and this has me wondering if the misalignment/injury was out of frustration due to that. It is really upsetting and frustrating to receive the same malpractice, mistreatment, and gaslighting indigenous patients experience from the entire medical industry as native a trans patient from a provider who is trans themselves, but that just goes to show who in the community he is willing to exceptionally serve. I am so shocked he has such good reviews. I felt obligated to say something so no other hypermobile/EDS clients go here and potentially end up with a worse injury than they came in with. I will now likely have to spend hundreds more dollars in bodywork and medical interventions to address and mitigate the issues the adjustment with Dr. Baird has caused. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND read more

Dr. Baird is amazing! So happy to have a practitioner in the queer+trans community to see for my back and leg problems. They have an outstanding bedside manner, and the whole process feels very empathetic and cooperative. I've been suffering from misalignment and neuropathy for many years, and I'm very happy with their chiropractic treatments as a complement to my yoga and PT. read more

I've had a great experience with Dr. Baird. As a queer non-binary person, I haven't had to explain a thing about my identity, top surgery, etc ...which has never been the case anywhere else. And, I've also gotten the best chiropractic care here. Anytime I've had an issue, Sandy has been able to help me resolve it and guide the preventative work as well. read more

Sandy is awesome. Sandy is queer. Sandy is hella nice and knows her -ish. As a gym owner, I'm always looking to stay aligned because I'm very active, but sometimes I need more than an adjustment. I need soft tissue work. This is where Sandy shines. She can adjust your back no problem, but she can also address those "bad knees" or "weak ankles" etc with other forms of healing like A.R.T., graston and cupping. I not only come here once a week, but so does all my training staff and members. Come here. Period. You're in great hands. read more

Came to see Dr. Sandy last Wednesday to fix my troublesome foot. You see I injured something; twisting it running for a BART one morning 3 months ago and it just hasn't felt right ever since. The online booking was very convenient - requires no credit card or other annoying registration; just pick a time and show up! Easy! That's what I like! Location is easy to get to (near Lake Merritt) and I had no trouble finding metered parking ($2/hr). Sandy was very friendly, professional, and concerned about my foot. She had water for me and assisted me with all the forms. Then went on to take a good look at the foot and A.R.T. it. I liked that Dr. Sandy was humble and listened very well and that the space was inviting and warm. She was also one of the first Chiropractors I've met that didn't try and up sell me. Not sure if you know the type but I find a lot of Chiropractors try and push treatments on you and justify why you need whatever package. If you see a bowling ball in a Chiro's office don't ask! Gosh I hate to be up sold when it comes to health. Sandy didn't do any of that. She simply promised to take good care of me and gave me exercises to take home with me and try. She did this active release technology to it and she seems pretty confident she can fix it all up. So far the next day the foot has been good. I will update this review when she is all tickety-boo. Gaa never running to get a train like that in crappy flat bottomed hipster shoes again. I learned my lesson! read more

I've been seeing Sandy at her practice for over a month now. I work fulltime on a computer so I'm always facing issues with my neck, shoulders and wrists giving me grief. By the time I came to Sandy, I was in a LOT of pain! Sandy took the time to hear out all of my concerns from Head-to-Toe (quite literally) and was very confident that she would be able to help. I've been seeing her every week for the last 4 or 5 weeks and I have had such great improvement in my day-to-day life with work and personal life. Sandy is super friendly, very professional and enjoys helping people! I even plan on bringing my husband here for a foot injury he sustained. I'm very confident that Sandy will be able to help him too! If you have any neck & wrist pains or weird injuries, I highly recommend you check out Riverstone! read more

Dr. Baird is fantastic. They are kind, professional, their space is always super clean and I always feel better after an adjustment. Really feel lucky to have met Dr. Baird and be working with them. It's so wonderful to have a non-binary chiropractor. Highly recommend! read more

I love Sandy Baird's chiropractic and ART work. She is unlike any other chiropractor I've seen in that she addresses my issues first through soft-tissue work. The first 10 minutes of our appointment feels like a bodywork session...she palpates through the tissue, then effectively finds and softens areas of tension before adjusting the skeletal structure. Not only is she really good at this and has a super nice touch, but I absolutely love how thorough this process of hers is. As a massage therapist myself, I can fully appreciate and recognize Sandy's ability to listen to the body. I always walk away from Sandy's office feeling tuned-up and refreshed. I've already recommended Sandy to friends and clients and will proudly continue to do so! read more

I've been Dr. Baird's patient for years. Best chiro, hands down- very skilled with an EXCELLENT bedside manner and this is coming from a very nervous patient! I feel very lucky to have discovered Dr. Baird. read more

Dr. Baird is the real deal - skilled, gifted, intuitive, and knowledgeable about the body. I am a retired professional dancer who is still very active and they literally keep me moving. I have seen many different types of practitioners in the many years that I performed and taught dance, and I trust Dr. Baird completely! I feel strong, fluid, pain free and ready to kick, leap and throw down after a session and in between. read more

I have been a patient of Sandy Baird for about 5 years and have used her services on and off during that time. She has a great practice, combining impeccable ethics, a calm and kind bedside manor, high skill level, and a conscientious approach. She employs a combination of soft tissue manipulation, active release technique, Graston technique, and traditional chiropractic, depending on what is needed. I find active release technique to be especially helpful. She will also give you exercise recommendations for self care, which I have found to be helpful in terms of core strengthening. There were two times that I was in desperate need of her treatment due to severe back spasms. One of these times which was so debilitating that I couldn't move around. She doesn't make house calls or do treatment outside of her usual schedule, so I had to drag myself to the office after 2 days (she did return my inquiries rapidly and her tone was understanding and compassionate). The first treatment with Sandy improved the problem rapidly. A few more treatments, and I was free and clear of the pain. I have also used her for routine maintenance, and generally feel much better after treatment. Sandy does not have an administrative staff - the sign up process is entirely automated - but she has it organized very well - I have never had an appointment cancellation from her, and there is always availability. She does not accept insurance and the rates are market rate so you will be paying out of pocket - but this is the case for soft tissue work in general. Sandy really knows what she is doing, and also has a very soothing and gentle personality. If you need solutions to muscle pain and spasms, repetitive strain injury, or other soft tissue issues, you will be very happy that you worked with her. read more

I was a patient of Dr Baird a year ago for a repetitive strain/excessive computing injury. It had been five years of frequent pain, a trip to a specialist, ineffective physical therapy etc. Dr Baird treated me for a few months and absolutely restored my range of motion and freed me from pain. This during a really intense work time. I was in a car accident recently and went straight to Dr Baird again. She got me in right away and I already feel better. Dr Baird is knowledgeable, professional, and equally skilled with soft tissue and skeletal manipulation. Nothing ever feels rushed or forced in her office. Any unlike other chiropractors I have seen, her treatments deliver lasting change. Plus I always learn something about my body when I leave her office. I recommend her highly. read more

Dr. Sandy Baird is about as humble as they come. She quietly listens and applies her talent and voila! life is better. I appreciate that she is willing to push and pull until it hurts a bit and afterward, you feel better! As a runner with my own issues and owner of a fitness business (Go WOW Team) who deals with lots of athletes in pain I can personally recommend her as a "go to person" for ART (Active Release Technique) when you need to ease that pain. I would recommend that, it is better to check out her techniques at the beginning stages of pain, if possible. You may be able to get back to working out a lot sooner. I'm so set up in the bodywork department. I've got the best masseur I've ever had, and the best chiropractor. Sandy is great with chronic pain and injury, scar tissue. In just a few sessions- the chronic pain I had for l3.5 years finally started to go away, and now I find myself able to function at work, and finally able to start weight training again. I highly recommend going here! read more

I have a knee problem and a lower back problem from weight lifting. Sandy helped me reduce the pain significantly! I had never seen a chiropractor before and I was a little scared. The session was not scary at all. She is mindful and communicates very well with you while she performs the adjustments. The soft tissue work she did felt amazing. And while there was some popping and clicking involved, it was gentle and felt very safe. I am excited to keep going back. read more

Came to Dr. Baird after 2 months of severe pain with diagnosis of carpal tunnel and in a desperate mood. After not having any actual help from my primary physician and other specialists, I got a diagnosis consistent with my symptoms, and real help right away! Dr. Baird is uniquely positioned to treat traumas and injuries, since she possesses skills in different areas, from chiropractic to yoga and uses those to the best benefit of the patient. Dr. Baird has a calm and confident presence, she took the time to listen to my concerns and seemed genuinely curious about my back and wrist issues. She is incredibly knowledgable in human anatomy and explains the muscular skeletal structures and what's happening with my specific issues in a clear way that I can understand and visualize. Dr. Baird has a gentle and effective approach and gave me suggestions for certain exercises and ergonomics which have proven to be helpful in my healing process. She also incorporated more massage and tissue work than I have received from other chiropractors, which was an added bonus to address my annoying RSI issues. It's evident that Dr. Baird loves what she does and strives to help her clients get the treatment they need in order to feel better. And, the YouTube videos are super helpful, you've got to check out her informative tutorials online! read more

I was blown away by my first appointment with Dr. Sandy. I hadn't been to a chiropractor in awhile, and Sandy listened carefully to everything I had to say, then fit in a TON of care in one session. Basically, we found things head to toe that needed help and Dr. Sandy did not hold back! I also walked away with exercises to do and suggestions for treatments I can take care myself. I left feeling so much better and empowered! I'm looking forward to my next appointment. read more

I had a great experience at Riverstone Chiropractic with Dr. Sandy Baird. I've been hesitant to seek out chiropractic care as a queer & transgender person, but Dr. Baird is extremely professional, affirming and conscientious. I felt comfortable in their care, and was able to relax and receive an adjustment on an injury that has been bothering me (and that I've been neglecting) for months. Dr. Baird was gentle and checked in with me often, and I felt better after my session than I have in a very long time. Will definitely see them again for any future needs. read more

Sandy is a great chiropractor. I started seeing Dr. Baird for long standing hip pain, tingling in my left thigh, and chronic shoulder pain. After working with her for about three months, I feel better than I have felt in many years. My hip pain is almost totally gone, the tingling has disappeared, and my shoulder has not felt this good in about 15 years. I am a chiropractor myself, and I am very picky about who I see... I can tell when someone really knows what they are doing, and Sandy definitely does. She has studied a number of modalities that are above and beyond what they teach in chiropractic college and she uses them wisely and effectively. She has crafted a nice blend of soft tissue techniques and adjusting techniques that has been very successful in treating my body. Her presence is strong but soft and tender, and you feel that you are truly cared for when you are under her care. I highly recommend her. read more

Sandy is seriously top-notch. I went to her for the same sports injury for which I had previously seen another sports medicine doc, and I could really tell the difference. Athletes (or anyone), I highly recommend going to see her. read more

When I was 7 months pregnant I was having hip stiffness and a strange, intense pain near my pubic bone so bad that I could barely walk or even lift my right leg. I had been seeing another chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy, and even she hadn't been able to address this disabling pain, so I had low expectations. I was looking for another Oakland chiropractor who might be able to help, and Dr. Sandy came highly recommended. She was an awesome listener - she has a really calm, compassionate demeanor that made me feel really comfortable, too - as I told her about what was going on, and she was able to locate the exact muscles that were causing the problem right away. She applied her magical skilled touch, and after just one ART session I was able to walk and lift my leg without pain! I couldn't believe it! The pain didn't come back for the rest of my pregnancy (or since). I highly recommend Dr. Sandy for helping you get rid of pain/restoring mobility. She's the BEST! read more
