This was my first time dining at this establishment. The Mighty Oak burger as well cooked, but didn't have much flavor. The fresh condiments added the flavor needed to the burger. The Cajun fries were barely seasoned at all, but they were very crispy. The appetizer was delicious! But it would have been nice of the pretzels would have been a little more toasted. Ordered lunch to go for 4 of us. Truffle fries were burnt and no sauce with them. Ordered broccoli cheddar soup and there was white chicken chili in bottom of the cup. We found this place on Yelp. The old saying "you can't judge a book by its cover" comes to mind. If you're looking for a traditional lounge, look elsewhere. This is a dive bar with decent food. Went there Friday night and the patio was busy!! The waitress told us the patio held about 50 people, most eating dinner and all ordering drinks. She and another waitress handled this entire crowd themselves. Both were quick, amazingly efficient, and spot-on accurate when bringing out orders. And yes, they managed to also be very nice when talking to customers!! They are to be commended for an awesome job!! We ordered a couple burgers with homemade chips and a cup of white chicken chili. The soup was hot and obviously home-made. Very good!!! The burgers came out and they were also hot and looked thick and fantastic. There was a slight sprinkle of seasoning on the top patty but it wasn't overpowering and really brought out the flavor of the fresh lean beef. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and drinks and even the entertainment that was playing guitar for the patio crowd. He was fun, interactive with the crowd and very talented. This is a bar/restaurant that is located in a residential area and you can almost miss it. This place features both indoor and outdoor sitting. The outdoor porch area is rather large and offers full bar and food service. I had the French dip and it was an excellent sandwich. My fiancé had a turkey salad and it was extremely generous. Our first time in, SO glad we went. White Chili was incredible: thick and creamy (even thicker than clam chowder)with a great spice to it, but not too hot. Lower Deck Turkey Club (warm) also wonderful. His Ham and Cheese was huge with a very fresh and delicious bun/roll. We also had fried Pickle Spears, let them cool a a few minutes, and the batter was like a beer batter. They were good too. My daughter and I were just passing through on our way to Indiana. She found this place based on the yelp reviews. It's a small establishment nestled in between some neighborhood homes. When we arrived on a Friday night, it was packed. We were lucky enough to get the last available table. We ordered two burgers, and a cup of stuffed pepper soup to share. The soup was so flavorful and delicious. The burgers were cooked perfectly to order and were so good. The onion rolls they use for burger buns are heavenly. We found this on Yelp while journeying from Northern Michigan to Cleveland, OH. From the moment we walked in, I knew it was special. Nothing sophisticated but very tasty and the service (by Melissa) was second to none. The daily soups included six homemade selections. We settled on the sausage and cheddar but our waitress brought us several to taste. My husband had the cod sandwich and I had the burger with Swiss and grilled onions. Both tasted fresh and were served piping hot. Local brews from the Jackson based Grand Brewery completed a wonderful meal. Solid menu - everything I have tried is well above par. Service can be spotty unless you're setting right at the bar but that's only on mildly busy occasions (don't let that stop you). One of my favourite places for a burger and a beer in Michigan. Everything they serve here that you think would be good cooked on a flat-top grill is delicious and the prices are very moderate for the portions that you're given. You drive up to the place and are floored that there is a house, that is actually a restaurant, on the edge of an industrial zone. So you don't know what the heck is going on and you wonder if you're being led to a meeting with undesirables. Fear not! Carry on! The place itself is a cute lived in looking cottage with haphazard add-ons such as a quaint patio. When you step in you seat yourself in a small bar with a dining area that probably holds 30 people at the most. It's very cozy, not cramped. You will be quickly attended to by one of two nice waitresses. The menu is large and boastful...you wonder if they can deliver. They can. Get the truffle fries and hand them your cash...you really can just stop here...they are amazing. A party in your mouth. Crack. The rest of the food is amazing, probably partially because your expectations (if you didn't read any of the glowing Yelp reviews) are so low...but mostly because the food actually is amazing. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and they are flexible (I've ordered stuff not on the menu, and as long as they aren't slammed they are happy to accommodate). My husband and I discovered Oak Tree Lounge via Yelp driving from Detroit to Sturgis late last night. We flew in from California and needed something to eat after a long day of flying. The Oak Tree Lounge was just the ticket! We loved the funkiness of the place and the location off the beaten path made for a fun adventure. A lot of locals seem to hang out here and our waitress Renee was super sweet. She was a real gem! She told us many of the customers were regulars and were just like family. She provided friendly, efficient service and was the perfect example of a genuine, hospitable Midwesterner. My husband had a cup of delicious homemade chili and the Ray Dean Blue's Burger with crispy French fries. His burger was perfectly cooked and served on a freshly made onion bun. He gave me a bite and it tasted amazing! I had a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup and the Roast Beef sandwich on freshly baked bread with onions and mushrooms. I went with the house made chips. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. I would highly recommend the soup if you choose to come here. Nothing better than homemade soup and they have several to choose from daily. On vacation at a local campground, we stopped by here for a beer and burger. We don't eat much redmeat so when we do, we want it to be good. Oaktree lounge did not disappoint. We got two burgers, cooked medium rare, and they were perfect. Ask for the Dumbo sauce on the side. My wife is gluten-free and got her burger on a gluten-free bun, perfectly grilled. I got the mighty oak, add bacon, with a tall IPA. We had our dog with us, so we ate on the patio which was very cozy. Coming here was one of the best decisions we made on vacation! read more
