I do not recommend this establishment. Unless you are a local you will likely find it an unfriendly atmosphere and could potentially be harassed by locals...such was our case; on more than one occasion. There is a woman who is a local; always rude and offensive to us whenever we would try eating here. It is more than annoying. The food can be hit or miss, depending on who is behind the grill to the point I wouldn't eat here again. A main-street establishment yet it felt more like a seedy, back-alley dive bar with uncomfortable wooden benches. I actually like a good dive bar, however this place just isn't much good for anything. read more

Came here by word of mouth to try the burgers. I ordered the big Mike's special with a side of fries. The fries were some of the best and you get more than expected. I'd compare them to a McDonalds fry texture and taste but better. The sandwich was a disappoint. Had no flavor and was just a little bit overcooked. Normally I love bacon but picked it off as it wasn't adding anything to the flavor. I'd come here again just for the fries but will not order another burger. read more

Love the atmosphere! Cute little place and not busy while we were there, but it's early. Staff is not friendly. Food edible. If anyone had cared to ask, my bacon was burnt to a crisp and inedible... on my blt, so a big part of my sandwich. My friend said he patty melt was lacking flavor. When we gave up on our food, a new staff arrival asked if there was anything we needed. Simply said "check." She obliged without asking about all the BLACK bacon left on my plate. Lol! Oh well, I'm just passing through, but I wouldn't recommend trying it. read more

To break up the long hauls, we often stop in Marshall for a bite at Schulers down the street. They were closed so we came Mike's Place instead. Good find. It's clean and pleasant. The menu is simple with reasonably priced food and drinks. The service was fast and courteous-I had the brat. The bar tender made a delicious Manhattan. Great find if you are looking for a pleasant break from long drives on highways 69 or 94. read more

Great little spot in the middle of downtown Marshall. It's a brightly lit dive bar. The bartenders were friendly, the space was immaculately clean (especially the cooking area), they have a great selection of beers - bottled, draught and microbrews. The food is your typical bar food, but it's well done. They also let you phone your order in. They must do a fair amount of carryout food business, because we saw quite a few in the short time we were there. There is a pool table and dart board for those interested. The crowd was diverse in age, but definitely all locals/regulars since a lot of them seemed to know each other and the bartenders. Would definitely stop back in here if I ever find myself in Marshall again. read more

The restaurant is little, but seems like just the right size. There is a full bar and a pool table. The atmosphere seemed relaxed for dinner time. The menu wasn't too big but had a decent variety that almost anyone could find something to eat. I was surprised by how much I liked the food. We got the deep fried ravioli as an appetizer. It came right out of the fryer to the table. It was pretty good (we got 6 pieces of ravioli). For my dinner got the pineapple bacon burger. I was hesitant getting a burger that had pineapple on it, but I had no regrets the moment I took a bite. It was one of the best burgers that I have had in a while. The waitress said it was one of their best sellers, and I can see why. My favorite part was on how crispy the bacon was. Whenever I bit into it didn't have to tear the bacon to keep it from all coming off the burger, and on top of that, they put a good amount of bacon on it. The only thing was that there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, and only one cook as well. But they both were doing really well and were on top of things as they could be under the circumstances. Overall the food there is really good bar food. I was driving through with family and needed a place to eat dinner at 8pm on a Sunday. Very good for bar food. I had the shrimp since I wasn't very hungry. I give them one thumb up. Lived in Marshall for 2 months for work and this was absolutely my favorite bar. Great bar food, awesome bartenders and a good beer selection. Some places close early on a slow night, but this place stayed open til 2am every night no mater what. Met some really cool people here, and they always had a hockey game on. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the extremely unnatural lighting. I've been to hundreds of bars, but this place really stands out for it's overwhelming brightness. I've walked in at 1am and felt like I was in a tanning salon. Maybe they should invest in a $10 dimmer switch for there lights because to me it really kills the mood. read more

Ate lunch here on 8 December 2015. Great sandwich. You can get the Dark Horse brews here. I had the Scotty Karate. Loved it. Would not call it a dive bar though. Just a great,clean local place. Amber my server was excellent, brought me some samples before i ordered. Will go back many times. read more
