Came in on a Sunday at 4pm. Door was un locked and no sign on the door saying it was closed! We went to the bathroom before we went to order icecream. Walked out to a man staring at us and questioning why we were there. When we politely explained we came in to use the bathroom he was super hostile telling us to get out because they weren't open, and that we needed to get out! We tried to explain that the door was unlocked. And that we were going to get some icecream. Which he very aggressively was like which door! Will not be coming back!! Good burgers. Gluten free bun didn't fall apart so that's a plus!!! Price was decent! Fries could use some work. Ours were over cooked or sat under a heat lamp to long... not sure which. They serve Pepsi products. Not busy at all on a Saturday afternoon. Mildly busy. Didn't like that there was not condiments out like ketchup and the bathrooms had signs about being a customer and getting a key. They were open thank goodness. I don't like having to go back up and ask for a key and ketchup... especially if there is a line. People have to go to the bathroom and I hate places that don't just let people go to the bathroom. It's a little pricier than some other fast food places, but you can tell it's because you're paying for higher quality ingredients which is actual food, compared to the other fast food places where it's hard to consider it "real" food. Buns are made fresh, meat is never older than 3 days from the day it was butchered. The Ambiance is like an older diner, classic cars and classic rock on the radio. The food is average. My wife wanted poutine which she said is "okay" the burger was meh. Wendy's is much better. Went thru the drive thru and they shorted me fries. I called and said I had just been there and the guy said to "come back you're not far" Wrong answer. This has happened before at better places and they said to remind them next time I come in. I told him I'm not doing that and he missed his voice to me. I don't take well to that and reciprocated in kind without cursing. He hung up. I called back they refused to answer so I used my other phone. I asked for the managers name and the guy who answered said he didn't know it. He said he didn't know who the manager was. He doesn't know who he works for. He began speaking in Spanish to someone, I'm Brazilian and understood what he was saying calling me a "pain in the ass" I called him a puto and he hung up. We really enjoyed the restaurant. It is located in an historic h building near the railway station that has been beautifully renovated. We had burgers and fries and they were very good! We especially loved that they do gluten free buns and can make fries in a gluten-free fryer as one on our party is gluten and dairy free. We will be back! read more

Great fast food burger joint and gluten free winning! The picture can speak for itself but I'll go ahead and say it was a fantastic burger! It reminded me of either a Five Guys or an In-N-Out depending on where you live. The fries were great! A little salty but had a good flavor and a nice crunch. Mmm. I tasted the Poutine my friend got and since I've never had that dish before I had nothing to compare it to. It was worth adding on for $5 and quite tasty! If you are a salt fiend, go for the fries. Whoa! I did like their flavor and crunch (that's important to me) but it wouldn't hurt to pump the brakes on the salt shaker. Maybe someone there got a little excited with it that day so give them a try! I will say that the addition of the salt of the fries and the salt of the curds, the poutin made my mouth pucker a little. Never mind, drink some water and carry on and enjoy the food. Used to love this place but the last two times it definitely has not been as good. They changed their gravy it was so good and thick now it's super runny and no flavor. I Won't come again. There were only 4 cars ahead of me. 20 minutes later there are three. I wasted my whole lunch period in line and here I am still. Going to be late returning to work without even having ate food. If I wasn't trapped between cars I'd have left already. Update: Unbelievable. 7 bucks for a TINY burger. So disappointed and bummed that the Jackson Doll'n'Burgers has followed the trend of being great when they first opened and now it is just bleh and mediocre - which is unacceptable at their price point. My family used to be HUGE Doll'nBurgers fans. We told everyone to try it and talked it up often. It was one of the few places we would get takeout from during the pandemic. However, with our last few visits, we have been left disappointed. We are patient people but the wait has become way too long regardless of drive-thru or eat-in. We love to eat inside because of the historic building but lately the drink counter and floor have been messy and in need of attention. This last visit, my burger was made incorrectly TWICE. My order isn't even complicated. I always request no onions, that's it. Upon getting my burger, it was cold, messy and covered in diced onions. I never send food back and usually just pick onions off if the kitchen forgets but this time I could not do that without removing all of my lettuce, pickles and sauce. So, I went to the counter, as I approached the person at the counter reached their hand out and said, "what's wrong with it?" I kindly replied I had ordered my burger with no onions. They shouted out at the kid manning the grill to make a new one. The grill person was too occupied with their earbuds to even acknowledge or reply. They did put another burger on but didn't even look up or anything. I stood waiting but received no apology for my inconvenience or anything. When handed my burger I returned to my seat to see this time it was missing lettuce and tomato. I wasn't going to go back up AGAIN to wait AGAIN for another burger. Only positive was this time it was hot. The employees acted tired, which they probably are, but there was zero customer service from beginning to end. No greeting, no receipt offered or given, no thanks for coming in and definitely no enthusiasm. Very disappointing experience overall even though they tout their experience and food quality is better than the rest, I now disagree. Considering the price I pay we will be giving our business to R.J's Metropolitan, Schlenker's and even Culver's from now on! As of lately, all three of those places have better customer service and food! So sad because we really do like to support local businesses. read more

So I recently found out my beef allergy from when I was a kid is no longer a thing so I chose this place for the first cheeseburger I've had in a decade AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! This burger was freaking DELICIOUS. Their sauce was the bomb and all the toppings were crunchy and fresh. It was just a fantastic experience for my first taste of beef in 11 years! We used to thoroughly enjoy Doll-n-burger when it first opened, especially since they offer gluten free buns, but the last several orders have been incorrect. Tonight my husband went to get our family of four dinner which costs us over $40 and not a single order was correct, the fries were overdone and there was no ice in our beverages. I placed an online order today and showed up when the website said it would be ready. I realize there's short staffing everywhere, and don't mind waiting. But I was standing at the counter for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. They went to the other register and helped the person that was standing behind me before me. When she did ask I told her I had the online order and she grabbed the bag that had been sitting there the whole time. The burgers were cold by that time. There was also 3 drinks with it. One was coffee, they were out. I told her I didn't need it and it was fine. When I asked for a drink carrier, she rolled her eyes at me. Was super excited to try this place out yesterday with a coworker. It was around 2 so after lunch rush, didn't wait in line long maybe 10-12 minutes and all we ordered was 1 small chocolate milk shake and 1 small chocolate malt. We were Soooooo disappointed. Our shakes were melted as if they were premade and just sat at the counter. There was no rich chocolate flavor , the shake tasted like watered down chocolate water and the malt tasted like water down malt no chocolate flavor. Sadly we probably won't be returning. read more

I don't even know where to start, after going to a lot of restaurants down town and then all being extremely busy I found this burger place and wanted to try it. When we got here the staff were extremely nice to me. After I ordered a number 2 the wait was about 11 minutes but I was okay with that. When I got my food it was sooooo good and fresh, everything tasted amazing. All the products are made with farm fresh local ingredients or made in house. After eating for a little bit a worker came out and talked to us asking if everything was tasting good and if we could use anything. I had a horrible experience at the Doll's and Burgers in Jackson Michigan on Cooper Street. It's a pandemic going on and people just won't keep clean or safe. Let me tell you the reason I said this! I ordered my food online, I got a text my food was ready, thank God I went inside to witness this for myself. The lady on the fries was grabbing at her mask with the gloves on as if it was ok! Not at all when you are preparing food!!! I told the other lady that was working, that I didn't want the lady on fries to fix me anything. The worker even told the lady on fries what I said and she still didn't change her gloves. The other worker put on a clean pair of gloves and tried to explained to me that the only thing the fry lady was doing was the fries. I said I don't want her fixing anything for me. Then the lady on the fries walks away and goes to the manager who was cooking the burgers with no gloves on, scarred up hand (open wounds), unclean uniform. As they were talking, he scratches his face and starts pulling all on his clothes while they stood there talking. I asked for a refund. The worker calls the manager to the register, the manager walks over, pulls his masked down from his face. I stepped back further he put it back on his face, then ask how did I want my refund. Not asking me (the customer) what the problem was. Unprofessional!!!! I recommend that you see where and how your food is being prepared when you are going to these restaurants!!!! Too expensive for what you get, chili was disgusting and ruined otherwise decent hand cut fries. I've had better burgers from McDonald's and the cheese curds are a ridiculously small cup for $5.50. If I want cheese curds I will stick with Culver's. I would only recommend this place to anyone who I don't like so they can waste their money. $68 for us to go someplace else to get something worth eating. My kids wouldn't even eat the hotdogs which is sad considering they try to eat cold hotdogs out of the package in the fridge. Yuck read more

We visited Doll n burger today. I will admit I was expecting really good food after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I wonder what food most of those people normally eat to think their food was "ridiculously good.". We ordered, it came fairly quickly. They did a nice job changing the interior to look a bit like a 50's burger joint. It all ended there. Firstly, the double burger was expensive 8.50 which included a small cup of fries and a drink. Secondly, it was small. Containing two tiny patties soaked in grease, covered with fake processed "cheese ". There seemed to be a sauce on it that tasted good, but there wasn't much. The fries tasted like fresh cut, but didn't make up for the lousy quality. No flavor on the meat, cooked very well done. The only plus was the bun. It was good, paired with Wendy's meat and McDonald's fries, it would have been better. In a nutshell, VERY disappointing. My mouth still feels like it had a chemical peel, or like eating a ton of salt and vinegar chips. All in all, not good. Place had the feel.of the old Wendy's location with new placards and worse food, same lackluster employees. Thinking of trying Doll N Burger........... ? Save your money. read more
