This place is undergoing a much need renovation! We checked in and immediately left. The carpet was filthy, and the desk chair was held together with duct tape. It felt like critters were inhabiting the disgusting carpet. We checked into the Doubletree next door! read more

Oak Tree Inn - Hotels Near Me - Monrovia, California

Recently booked two rooms and staying there for 3 nights: 1. Room in general is dirty, many ants around the bathroom. 2. Front desk service is poor, not willing to help when questions came. 3. Claim as come with free Wi-Fi service, neither one of our rooms is able to connect. To conclude, select this Inn at your own risk! read more

Very nice hotel. I would stay again if in the area. Room & Facilities Very comfortable beds, I had a 2-bedroom but stayed there alone. Clean room, didn't have to deal with bugs or anything broken, which is always great. Nice size closet and always appreciate bathroom areas where the toilet and shower are separated from the sink. Airconditioning worked well and wasn't loud so didn't disrupt my sleep. Wifi was decent, worked the entire time I was on the premises. Plenty of free parking in the lot and on the street. Didn't get to use the pool so can't speak to it. Very friendly and organized hotel staff. Vending machines on the first floor, ice on every floor next to the elevators. Was very quiet during my stay, I was on the 3rd floor. Food & Restaurants The breakfast is skimpy with a very light continental assortment, only the bananas were fresh. No bar or restaurant on site. However the restaurant is across the street from great eateries like Claim Jumper, Doubletree Hotel, and Pieology, so there were other options. read more

So disappointed ! I've stayed here many times before and I used to love it !!! Not today ! first of all, people have busy schedules, so just because I wasn't able to go early to check in does not mean I was not going to check in at all!! The girl who helped me was so nice and I was going to give her my credit card information just for my room to be reserved. Unfortunately I didn't have it with me so when I called back the Asian guy who answered , told me he wasn't going to get my credit card because First comes first . I told him i was for sure going to go. He was so rude . I've always stayed here and I never had problems . Sadly, I'm never coming here again. After being treated like that . Double tree inn is more expensive yes but it worth it and their staff is so so nice and understandable ! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The room smelled like mildew. I only selected because my father is having Cancer Treatment at City of Hope. He was very ill and I asked for a late check out at 1pm because he was very sick, and was told they had an hourly rate per hour after 12pm so I had to leave at 12pm or be charged. REALLY!! An hourly charge!?! NO compassion and when I went to speak with the manager he was TOO busy in the lobby selecting new material swatches, the staff I did speak to was nothing short of USELESS and RUDE and NOBODY I spoke to would take the time to make me, and I'm assuming any other guests, feel like any more than "pay by the hour" guests. They will never receive my money and I STRONGLY suggest nobody else does either!! Thank you for nothing! FYI, If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would!! I cant reiterate enough, DO NOT STAY HERE!! read more

I gave my review to expedia.. prior to the bed bug symptoms kicking in. I'm so upset! We had a very late check in due to travel time and decided to stay after viewing ashes on our sink and a filthy carpet. I refused to walk barefoot there. Exhausted, I fell asleep right away even with the strong product smell on the sheets. My husband didn't sleep much as he kept checking on our truck. Several tweakers in the hotel lounging around the hotel. We left early as this was just aweful. Two days later I find bites all over my body. Read up. Takes a couple days for symptoms to appear. I slept under the covers as my husband slept on top of comforter. And I'm the one who got bit. I'm so disgusted of this place .. biggest regret! read more

I was looking for place close to Pasadena to spend Valentine's day, yet I wanted it to be reasonable (and clean). I'm so happy I found this place because it was really nice for the price. I paid as much as you'd pay for a room at Best Western, and got a big comfy bed, a clean room with a couch, a fresh continental breakfast (I loved their donuts), and still be close to Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. I was worried it would be noisy since it's very close to the freeway, but it was pretty quiet. There were a few flaws in the hotel room. The shower barely has any water pressure, and adjusting the water was tricky. It you either end up freezing or burning if you turned it a little. The air conditioner was a old, and the tv is flat screen but could have been bigger. Overall, it was a pretty good stay and I would stay there again. read more

Not very good service. Informed the front desk staff that there were bugs in the room and when the lady came to check, she asked did we spray the bugs?nothing else was done. The floors are filthy, not a good place to stay. Please see the photos I uploaded. read more

In the morning as I was moving my things into my car my keycard was deactivated with a brand new pair of $300 headphones inside. I stay in hotels often for work and have occasionally left an item or two behind and have always had it promptly returned. This was not the case here. The man who presented himself as the manager said he could not check the room as there was already another occupant (2 minutes after I left the room?) and that nothing was found. He then promised to call me back within 30 minutes and never did. My subsequent calls to the location have a woman telling me that the manager is not in and she does not know who the owners are. So not only was my property stolen they do not even have the decency to attempt to resolve the issue. I would never write a review about theft I less I knew for a fact something was stolen. I remember exactly where I placed them intending to come right back because they were new and I didn't want them to get smushed in my bag. This behavior and the way it has been handled is nothing short of disgusting and unprofessional at the very least. read more

My hubby and I stayed in this hotel several times over the last two years. Affordably priced and good location were our main reasons. We were fairly satisfied, but have to write this review. The last time the carped was absolutely filthy. Disgusting. I mentioned it to the desk clerk when we checked out and she seemed surprised. It's a really nice place but they need to replace the carpet. Unless they do I'll not return. read more

Great rates, helpful staff This place is hidden between the Hilton and the Marriott on Huntington Drive in Monrovia. You can get a room here for under 100 bucks, which is a great deal for the Los Angeles area. The staff here are the nicest, most helpful people you could meet. They're super cool if you need to check in our out at an off time, and they're really eager to help you out with whatever. They have a nice lobby, which is a great place to drink free coffee and work on a laptop. I'm surprised more guests don't take advantage. I'm surprised at some of the reviews. I had no issues here, but they have been recently renovating, so maybe that's made a difference. read more

Pro : Great location , Very Quiet , Very Clean , Affordable & the continental breakfast is amazing if you wake up early enough. Cons : The Wifi is horrible!!! I don't know if too many people are on them or they're simply just not strong enough. The connection is always in & out. & The owner or whoever Kevin seems a little too nosy , like all in everybody business. 7 1/2 rating read more

Absolutely disgusting and gross the carpet was covered in black spots. I have a four year old there's no way he could be walking on that carpet. Dried on crap all over the nigh stand and table. Worst room I have ever seen I refused to stay there and would never stay here again. read more

This is a great little gem Monrovia. For the price you can't beat it! And there are so many places close to it. If you fancy going to downtown Pasedena its super close. The employees are super kind. Theres construction going on but it's not too bad, the workers are really kind. read more

I've been here twice already with my SO. First time we had a room on the third floor, nice and quiet up there but you either walk three flights or take a cramped little elevator. Second time I requested a room on the first floor. VERY BAD MISTAKE. You can hear everything that goes on outside your door so I felt like I had no privacy. The beds are comfortable but I feel like they need to change out the furniture. Perhaps more amenities would be nice. read more

This place has recently gone through a remodel and is one of the best places in the area as well as the best priced. The rooms were clean, the housekeeping effcient and the place was quiet even though it is close to the freeway..make sure you get a room facing the parking lot. read more

Thanks to yelp, The Oak Tree Inn was exactly what I expected. A decent motel at a fair price considering the location. My room rate was $79 a night. Other accommodations nearby started at $129 per night. The room was acceptably clean but bring your Clorox wipes for the door handles and other surfaces you will touch often. The bed was free of critters and comfortable, with the exception of the hard pillows but I have experienced that in very expensive hotels. It is very quiet if you ask for a room on the street side and not the freeway side. But then, I live in a large city so I am accustomed to the background white noise of any large metropolitan area. The number of street side rooms Is limited so verify the location . The TV and Internet worked perfectly and the water was hot. I wouldn't bother with breakfast. What do you expect for $79? There are many eating establishments within walking distance. Would I want to come here expecting to spend a great deal of time in my room? No. But if you were coming here to work or play - sleeping and showering in you room. It's great!! Exactly what I was expecting and saved me $250.00 to pocket toward my next resort vacation ....... Where, of course, as an HMB, I expect a lot more. read more

Other than it being relatively cheap, this hotel really doesn't have an up side to it. The Internet is a step below dial-up, and the continental breakfast is a joke. I cannot wait to be out of this crap hole. read more

Centrally located right off the freeway; rooms are well insulated for sound. Rooms are small but adequate. Elevator was iffy and not air-conditioned. Carpeting in room was filthy, chain lock on door was broken, trouble with phone and remote control. I'm glad it was only for 1 night and I won't be returning. I've been in motel 6s that are cleaner. read more

Clean and comfortable. Great affordable prices. Free wifi and continental breakfast and its near Santa Anita Race Track.

My girlfriend and I were stayed in Oak Tree Inn yesterday. It was a great pleasure for us. The room was well equipped. There was a nice king size bed, a large TV with different set of channels, a nice sofa (one person can easily sleep over there), a separate table with its office chair. The room was well designed. There is a free wifi. The parking lot was big enough. All markets are close by. So we don't need to take a car. We will definitely come back again. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Second time staying at Oak Tree, and the last. Bugs all over the bathroom counter and walls. I told the lady at the front desk and she asked if we wanted the room sprayed, or did we want another room. I asked for another room because I have asthma, and my mom has a lung condition, so she gave us keys to another room. As we were packing up, this man came in and started spraying while we were in the room. We asked him to stop, and please wait until we get out. He said ok, and kept spraying anyway, and yes he spoke English. The next room had a few bugs around the sink, but not as many, and the walls were dirty. As we were leaving three days later (we couldn't get a reservation anywhere else or we would've left the first night), the bathtub wouldn't drain, and the elevator was out of order. I had to carry all our bags down 2 flights of stairs, with my almost 80 year old mom in tow. I asked if there was anyone who could help, I was told no, good thing I'm in great shape, but my mother is not. I'm sad to see this place go so far downhill in the year since we stayed there because the location is perfect. We'll be staying somewhere else next time. read more

Worst experience ever! I called earlier in the morning to make sure that I could check in after 11 p.m and they said it would be fine. When I was almost to the hotel I called again and a VERYYYY RUDE MAN Told me that he canceled my room because I didn't come earlier he then called me a bitch and hung up on me. I don't recommend this hotel to ANYONE! I have never been treated so badly in my entire life! I hope he gets fired. DO NOTTTT GO TO THIS HOTEL! read more

Zero stars for this place! We made a reservation and we went to universal studios the day of check in so we called ahead at 530 to say we were checking I late that day so we could keep our room and he said "okay that's fine" and when we arrived he had given our room away and had no more rooms available! Then why would he confirm over the phone?! And had the audacity try to blame us for not calling and we showed him the call log and he refused to even look up at us.. This review is strictly for customer service ! The front desk Stephanie was so helpful! Not only was she able to accommodate what we needed but also went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of . We checked in late and were needing something to eat , she explained what was around and that they may be closed , but instead she gave us some snacks to get through the night:) CHEERS to Stephanie thank you! read more

We stayed at this hotel because there were no open hotel rooms anywhere around. There were ants coming out of the ac unit, our sink was broken and they shouldn't call what they offer breakfast its just a few old hard doughnuts and warm milk. read more

Stayed at this motel in early August 2015. Had a room on the first floor as spouse is disabled and access was easier. The room seemed dirty when we settled in but, since it was only one night, we let that go. My husband woke up about 2 am and asked me to turn on the lights because he felt like something was crawling on him. I turned on the light and his back was covered in ants! I looked down and the pillow was covered in ants as well! We called the front desk and the night clerk came to the room to confirm the ants so we could get another room. We then had to pack up our belongings and tote them up to the third floor. My husband couldn't help due to his health and the clerk didn't even offer assistance. The new room was much cleaner and no bugs (thank you for that at least). The clerk stated that we would be compensated for the inconvenience. The next morning when we checked out, we were charged the full price for the room! I questioned the charges because of the ant issue the prior night. The day clerk indicated that she would have to call the night clerk to verify and, thankfully, he was still up and she reached him but the whole process took at least ten minutes. In the interim, another couple came in to the motel office about an issue with their room. Turns out they had the same first floor room with the ants on the night before we came! When the clerk gave me the "adjusted price" (half off the $100 nightly rate), I objected since it was already known that the room had an ant problem. The staff refused to give us any further discount! That is POOR SERVICE. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL! It is DIRTY and BUG INFESTED. The only positive is that we didn't pick up any bed bugs to bring home to our own house! read more

I called in advance and cancelled my reservation and I am still being charged for a stay?

My boyfriend and I have stayed here many times, and each time we have stayed here has been great! The staff is very friendly especially this lady in the front desk; however, I would've given four stars but there is usually a VERY rude Asian man at the front desk who I honestly don't know how he got hired and still continues to work there. Whenever I call to reserve a room a head of time, I hang up whenever it's him because he is very impatient with reserving rooms and acts as if you're a burden of his time. If there was a corporate number, I would call, because my visit is ALWAYS great except when he's there, and now I see what the reviews are taking about when referring to a rude man. The beds are comfy. The rooms are clean, and are above average. I believe you pay for what you get! Sometimes the continental breakfast isn't all that but usually it's good enough to get by. Although It is by a free way, you cant hear anything maybe a few cars here and there but nothing too bad. They also have military discounts! This honestly a great place to stay BEWARE THE RUDE MAN read more

Fab Haggis, solid and Burger, that's what we had for food. Can't judge the hotel because we didn't stay there. I had not eaten Haggis for literally two decades and was slightly scared but very pleasantly surprised. Wouldn't want to stop eating but even the biggest plates don't last forever ... ;-) Staff was extremely busy and tried to softly nudge us out of the cozy pub room to the restaurant room opposite in the beginning although a big enough table was available (which isn't even half as nice) with our baby pram, but we put us neatly into a corner eventually without being a nuisance. Staff warmed up to us quickly and proved to be very nice , but minus one star for the not so warm beginning. The pub room is very beautiful, almost a picture book pub with its actually functioning bar and a fireplace - extremely cozy and something to remember. Will be trying to go back again and also consider staying for the night, or two. The surroundings and nature are amazing, directly at the shores of Loch Lomond, with family friendly lakeside hikes starting from there. read more

The room decor with very nice, comfortable, and relaxing. Pool and jacuzzi or also well kept and great to use.
