Front desk called me to the room and said, I already told you what time is check out.... At 10:32am front desk called to see if I wanted to extend my stay. I said, no thank you we are leaving. I then asked her what time was check out. She said, 12:00. At 12:12, maid came into the room as we are walking out. The phone rings, I answer it. Front desk tells me, I already told you what time check out is. Mind you, that's the first she tells me when I answered. What kind of customer service has she learned from being in a hospitality job? A little late with this review, but stayed here Christmas Eve because I really didn't wanna sleep on the living room floor at the mother in law's since we had to go back early Christmas day to open presents with everybody. This room was pretty basic, like Motel 6, Super 8, basic. Nothing really fancy, nothing really nasty, just some basic motel furniture with a few minute scratches and dings and a comfy, clean bed. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars because of the mini fridge, iron and ironing board and coffee maker. What I liked about this place was that there were fully stocked vending machines with reasonable prices, ice machines on every floor, even though the ice machine on my floor didn't work, which is why I had to take a half star off. The thing I liked is that there's signage on the ice machine telling you not to use it for your ice chests. This is something I do in Vegas, so I can't really talk shit, but I'd imagine the sign is there due to the proximity of the race track and people filling their coolers up to keep their cold ones cold for that parking lot pre flight. Keyless entrance was also a plus for me and check in was relatively quick and pain free. Overall, when I want to avoid the in law's floor, I might consider staying here again. It was quiet, it was clean, and there was ample parking. I've stayed in worse. So if you're not too fancy foo-foo, give it a shot! read more

Filthy Accommodations. I booked this hotel after staying here once before in 2017. Upon returning I have to say that the front desk staff was helpful, the room was horrendous. I questioned if had even been cleaned do to the state that it was in. It was dirty to the point that I asked for a refund, which they accommodated. If you do not mind staying in a place that is not well taken care of, this may be the place for you. The pictures they post of the rooms are vastly different in terms of what you actually find when you check in. Id rather sleep in my car than stay here again in the future. I chose this plane for it's location and price but moreover that it had a pool and a hottub. (Mistake!) The place had that moldy/ mildew smell combined with ancient cigarette smoke that had my hairs on end right away. The desk worker was not a native speaker of English and had trouble grasping the meaning simple statements and questions. I asked where the hot tub was and found it locked not only by the standard room key Swipe lock but also by a chain and padlock. I told the clerk and we went three rounds of back and forth where I was told that the room key was the way to get entry. Finally the idea of the added padlock and chain was conveyed and access achieved. Before I was able to put my towel down and test the water, a worker was in the pool shed adjusting something. I asked if they had just turned the hottub on and was told no that it had been on. As my hand slid into the urine warm water I realized that might not be true. I left thinking to get some dinner and then hottub onceit warmed up. Four hours later the temp had not changed. I asked at the front desk if the temp was on high and was told yes. Check out the state of this ratty blanket we were given. When I asked for an extra comforter like you'd get on a bed I was told that the people who could get that for me had left for the day. My husband and I stayed at this location during a business event. The pricing of the hotel is overpriced for the room. The hotel is below standards for comfort, and is not an updated hotel, with many items out of service like the drink machines, and the rest of the hotel is very dated. Our room was on the third floor, but the room is old shaped and was not clean...more like it was disgusting. I won't book this place again, & it was even still very dirty. No major complaints from me, you receive the service you pay for at Oak Tree Inn. For my girlfriend and I this meant 1 room with a king bed, TV, desk and office chair, a table, and a single bathroom with toiletries as needed (came to $118, all fees included). The room was generally clean though the carpeted floor may have been a bit stained. We checked for bugs in the room and on the bed and did not find any. The room was officially "non-smoking" but we smelled some smoke from the previous occupants that they attempted to cover up with air freshener. The inn is by the freeway but rooms are well insulated from the noise. It is otherwise located in a great area of Arcadia around many stores and restaurants. read more

I booked this hotel with a budget of staying under $300 that allowed close access to the freeway and Los Angeles Area. My stay consisted of a two-night stay which totalled to $286 for a king sized bedroom with breakfast (a variety of donuts and muffins, fruit, and a variety of tea, juices, and coffee) included. My room had a king-sized bed, couch, desk area, small table area for dining. They accommodated me for an early check-in, however the room I requested for the first floor was not approvee due to king-sized rooms not being offered on the first floor. Overall my stay met the goal and expectations for what I was seeking and was close to a variety of restaurants, visiting sites, atrractions, and the freeway. A good place to just sleep. No frills. The bed was comfy, the carpet was definitely old and stained. We did check the room for bugs (based on previous reviews and I'm super paranoid when staying in a new hotel) and didn't find a single one. The price was about $125 with fees and taxes, so not too horrible, and definitely cheaper than the two other hotels in the area. Checked in 9- 10 o'clock at night was drained from driving all day. Went straight to bed and felt something bite me I woke up to a bug bite. Woke up next morning to not being able to shower or brush my teeth because plumbing is backed up.EVERYWHERE ALL ROOMS. THEN noticed Blood stains on my shits. Called office they didn't care they just gave me a discount 75 dollars compared to the 106$ ,plus deposit. So I got 25 back ..when they should have refunded the whole amount. mediocre breakfast, very tight parking spots(see pictures), I could barely fit a "compact" car in there(VW Bug) and after parked there's no room to get in and out, imagine all the dents you'll get. I think they did this to get more parking spaces, at the expense of your car. first night we're in, we found a very rusted push pin on the floor(see pictures), we could have easily step on it while getting off the bed, luckily we didn't, who knows what kinda stuffs is on it. third night going back to our room, the elevator has a bunch of towels on the floor(see pictures) it's good thing we bought our own towels. No frills, no thrills. Only what you need for a fair, economical price. I mean its in Monrovia/Arcadia, so Its not like you are looking for resort amenities. It's close to City of Hope so it's perfect for visiting, students, candidates, and patients. (High end doctors and surgeons will need something a little more high end. Go see Marriot and Embassy Suites down the street). If you house is being fumigated or you have business in the area, or you drank too much in the local bars, then this place is just a touch on your smart phone away using the Priceline app. There is a pool, and that is about it. For $65 bucks the room was very clean, very minimal. You could actually open your window to get fresh air, but the sheer curtains had a few rips and tears. But the room was clean. I don't care what the negative reviews on here say, I just came back from my first trip to California and I have to say, Oak Tree Inn made my stay amazing! The staff was friendly, we stayed in room 201 which I highly recommend because it's the corner room on the second floor away from the noise. Our room was clean, maid service cleaned up our room every time my fiancé and I went out. Lots of nice places to eat and shop. The water pressure of our shower was great, the bed was so.comfy I didn't want to get out of bed. Lol My fiancé and I took advantage of their free breakfast. It was great! The donuts,scones and muffins were so soft and fresh. We took a dip in their pool and jacuzzi to relax. Thank you for your service Oak Tree Inn! We will be back in October of this year! read more

This place has gone down hill. I checked into the room and it wasn't cleaned. It was disgusting. I was too jetlag to deal with it after being up for over 30 hours cause of the time difference. I told a guy at the front desk and he says " what do you want", he even accused me of dirtying the room..... obviously I wanted to switch rooms or have someone clean it. There was dog food on the floor, cigarettes in the windowsill of the non smoking room, lettuce on the tissue box, the bed wasn't made and all this plastic was visible and there was some kind of red stain on the couch......I just said nevermind and switched hotels. My dad wanted a place close to the hospital to visit my aunt while she did chemo ( which was a 7 minute drive). Definitely would have driven further based on how crappy this hotel was. Unfortunately my dad didn't listen to me and booked this hotel since the rose bowl parade caused many hotels to be booked out. The first room they gave us was dirty & had lots of ants. I cannot believe they thought it was okay to send guests in a room that wasn't even swept. I've been in so many hotels without my family when I go on vacation. Not ONCE have I ever had a hotel not give me a full roll of toilet paper. They left what the last guest left in the restroom which was little to nothing. For as much as we paid you would THINK they would have the decency to at least leave a whole roll of toilet paper. We were in there not even 20 minutes & had to have the cleaning lady spray the crack in the wall for the ants . It killed the ants all in the restroom but occurred again 10 minutes after with more ants. The room was old( not like pictures online), had spots , and holes all around the room. We moved to another room which was upstairs. This room was completely different,cleaner, & smelled nicer. Only to realize they sprayed it so much because in reality it REAKED of marijuana. The first day we were smelling it my little brother & I got headaches. I couldn't even sleep at night because of the smell through the wall. The worst part was the smell got worse and worse everytime we used the restroom. It was coming through the vent & made our entire room so bad. I have never had a scent so strong cause me a migraine & want to get sick. We called the front desk to ask if there was any complaints from the cleaning ladies hoping they knew what room it was. Considering this is a smoke free hotel a worker cleaning the room would have definitely been able to tell which room it was. Manager said no but we explained we couldn't deal with it anymore. My dad asked him to come smell the room himself to see how terrible it was. The next day after a long day at the hospital visiting my aunt, we got food and went back to the hotel to rest, and eat. I scan my card on the door and it doesn't turn green. I try to open the door and nothing happens. It is pouring rain, cold, we are tired , and hungry yet we are unable to get into our room. I have my dad go downstairs because my mom, little brother , & I had to use the restroom. Finally, my dad comes up & tells us the lady at the front had to restart our key cards. Please make that make sense!!!! We paid for 4 days why would our key cards not work! This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. Do yourselves a favor, do not spend money on this shitty hotel, and don't let the " good" comments fool you. read more

I've been here multiple times before. Never have I had an issue like this. Not that this hotel is top notch, but still. The woman in the front suggested that I cancel through hotels.com, but I thought she'd at least let me stay since I traveled here and I didn't have anywhere else to go at the time since I had already arrived. If I cancelled through hotels.com, they'd keep my money. I called hotels.com and they needed her permission to refund me, but she'd only do it if I left the room, which I could not. Hotels.com's only solution was to give me back only 20%... IN CREDIT. As if I wana use their service, or this hotel's, again. We booked a room and called ahead verifying first floor accommodations due to broken leg. We specifically called and checked due to the plethora of reviews regarding broken elevator. Upon arrival, we were told there was not a first floor room. I mentioned to the man at the front desk that we requested first floor AND called twice to make sure they could accommodate handicapped guest. The second call was placed twenty minutes prior to arrival. The front desk agent argued that we didn't call that he had been there for hours, the only one there and hadn't spoken to us,but since it was the last outgoing call I hit redial. His phone rang! He then said he would help carry the handicapped individual up the stairs. Seriously?! Fix your elevator to accommodate handicapped individuals. read more

Conveniently located next to freeway, food establishments and stores - all within walking distance too! Room was exactly what we needed...a place to crash. It's a little dated and there was food left in the refrigerator. The water was hot and AC was cold. Beds were comfortable and three pillows on each bed. WiFi worked great so no complaints overall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful- not sure of the pool as we didn't use it. Not once did we hear traffic from the freeway and I'm a light sleeper. I spent one night here and woke up with about a dozen bed bug bites on my body. I shoulda known, 'cause the second we walked into our room, I could just feel the filth in the air. Even when we turned on the a/c, the air still felt dirty. The room itself looked as if no one has touched it up/renovated it at all whatsoever for about 40+ years. I don't think anyone's been in there to clean since that long, either. There was a hole in our wall which obviously looked like an ex-guest punched it in. I'm diligent about taking showers every day, but I couldn't even at this place because the extent of how unsanitary it was made me think I would somehow feel even more gross if I did. Another important thing is, I complained to the front desk about the bed bug issue 1st thing in the morning and showed them my bites, and they claimed that the supervisor/manager was not on site. The person at the front desk didn't even offer me a solution to fixing the bed bug problem, not even a discount. We left immediately and angrily. I couldn't even get a refund for the extra pre-paid night I unfortunately paid Hotels.com for this stinkin' room. They promised me a hotel voucher, never got it. Deserves a solid 4 stars because of its affordable price and comfortable stay. Although there are several poor reviews on this location, during my stay i didn't experience many of the listed problems as other hotel stayers did but that doesn't mean it was a perfect stay. First of all i want to say that orbitz hooking up for around $60 a night is such a STEAL at a last minute booking. Thank you for that...... Check in process and checking out was smooth as butter!!! The room included AC/Heater(Didn't use), Fridge, Two QUEEN sized beds, TV, iron/board, wifi etc etc, oh also complimentary breakfast in the morning which is always cool (did not take advantage of that)... Comforter was kinda ghetto but the bed/blanket was very comfortable to sleep in providing a good night's sleep!! Broken shower handle which they need to fix that!! Other than that...... there it was a great stay for the price!! Very quiet and peaceful too! Automatic turn off of the lights and fridge (have to manually make it colder) to save electricity! $177 for 3 nights. That's about $60/night. But we booked it on Orbitz, used my $10 in Orbitz credit, and also had a 15% discount code on top of that. So it would have been around $200ish without alla that. Not sure why this place has such terrible reviews. I thought it was a decent place to stay at. I don't really have any complaints...just a few. For example, when I took a shower, the shower handle came right off... I had to place it back on to turn on the shower. It worked, but still, wtf? At first, I thought I was lovin the bedsheets/blankets at how soft they were. I soon realized that the supposed "duvet cover" was a comforter covered by two sheets, one on the top and bottom. That's kinda ghetto.. I felt like the comforter wasn't washed often (I just assumed this and was very cautious because I had hella bug bites from my previous hotel stay in Florida). I didn't want the comforter to touch me at all... I know I sound like a total diva, but can you blame me? I got like 1037373903 bug bites in Florida at a different hotel and I didn't want any more... The wi-fi didn't really work too well either. But besides those three things, the room had everything we needed. Towels, fridge (bigger than the usual mini fridges), toiletries, air conditioning, blow dryer, iron, tv, wi-fi, etc. It was a quiet place to stay at. Lots of parking in the lot, but gets pretty packed sometimes. Complimentary breakfast included cereals and pastries. Our room was cleaned every day and restocked with new towels and shower essentials. Overall a wonderful stay and very affordable for our mini getaway! Would definitely stay here again! Believe it or not, I literally lived in this hotel for 9 weeks with my husband and our two young daughters. We had just moved here from Alaska and while we were looking for a place to live, we made our temporary home at the Oak Tree Inn. Keep in mind, this is NOT suitable for anyone wanting an extended stay. Each room is equipped with a mini fridge, 22 inch or so flat screen TV, basic (very basic) cable, and free internet. The internet wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't very fast, however it worked. No microwave available (other than in the lobby) unless you are booking an extended stay room... But I think that's literally the only difference - you get a microwave. There are quite a few vending machines near the lobby area. They do offer free breakfast, but you better get there early because there isn't much and it doesn't last long. The donuts that they buy, from Monarch Donuts, are amazing though! So it might just be worth it to you to wake up early for one. The hotel also has a small outdoor pool & hot tub. The pool isn't very big though and only goes up to 5 ft deep, but thankfully it was never really busy. We often had it to ourselves. One of the biggest cons, in my opinion, were the ants. If you leave any sort of food behind, the ants will surely find it. And there are lots of them when they do. So be careful about where you keep your food. Even though the hotel is located right next to the freeway, literally, it was never a problem. It's actually a very quiet hotel. The price is fair and the rooms are fairly clean, although the carpets look like they need a good shampoo. But if you're just looking for a place to sleep for a few nights, the Oak Tree Inn will do the trick. read more

Stayed here last weekend while attending Ren Faire since we had to be there early on Sunday. Very clean, very quiet, and very close to Faire and food. The front desk man Mr. Lee was friendly and even gave us a card for a free appetizer at Claim Jumper across the street when he heard us say we were going over there to eat. For $65 it's well worth it. The continental breakfast isn't much, but it's free and filling. The rooms are definitely old and a bit outdated, but again, they were very clean, and that's waaaay more important to me than certain colors or patterns. Booked a 5 night stay non smoking showed up, get to first room... smells like smoke, call front desk wants me to come down to get keys for another floor after I moved all of our luggage up. Lady was kind enough to bring the keys up to another floor to another non smoking room that smells like smoke but somehow knew to bring keys for another room that has a sign on the door that says non smoking but was a 2 bed. Wifes upset we have to split beds im upset im out 700$ on a guaranteed non smokng king and front desk can't comp a room or give a discount. If you smoke cigarettes this is your place if you prefer a true non smoking room go elsewhere. I was always intrigued with the hotels around the Huntington Drive - Monrovia location, and so I decided to try to the Oak Tree Inn for the Independence Day Holiday weekend. I had stayed there for 3 Days and 2 Nights. Definitely, no frills and no thrills as pointed out by Donna S. Reminds me of going to grandma's or an older aunt's house. Checking in and out was relatively easy since I had booked with Expedia.com. The staff is friendly and attentive. I didn't have to wait no longer than 5mins to getting checked in and out. The parking was pretty spacious, and so had no trouble getting a parking spot in front by the elevator and hotel lobby. Though I was kind of bugged that if you parked in the front, your windows get water drops in the morning from the high sprinklers. Pros: **Room 309 - Spacious Room - no funky weird smells. **AC: Took a little while to cool up, but once it's cool, the room was actually freezing! **Lots of eateries around Monrovia. **Fridge: Kept my food and drinks cool and refreshed **Lamps: They have extra outlets in them, especially since I like keeping my phone charging next to me, and outlets to plug my ipod too! **Quiet & Serene neighborhood - Didn't encounter any rude drunk, neighbors or people slamming their doors. **Soft king size bed: Easily fell asleep and the pillows (4) weren't lumpy. **Spacious Bathroom & lots of soft towels, and dual toilet papers. **Wifi was fast in my room Cons: **Breakfast from 6AM to 9AM: Milk, OJ, Cereal, Oatmeal, Apples/Bananas, Doughnuts and Hard-Ass Scones - seriously, I dropped one of the scones on the floor and it didn't break! Needs a better continental breakfast. **Door - The top part doesn't even close all the way. I didn't notice it until the second night when I came back from my car at night and saw the light peering through. On top of that, the door doesn't even have the hook block on top. There's only a dead bolt. However, they should have that blocker on there like other hotels. **2-3 Ants crawling out of the AC Unit. They were also crawling on the wood paneling of the door entrance. Once I killed the scout, they stopped coming. The second night, I found and killed a spider crawling on the wall. **Dark Room - even with five lights turned on - it's still very dark - ended up unscrewing one of the lampshades off by the bed the to get a brighter room. **TV: Basic channels, and you have to figure out which channels are 2,4,9,11 because they're different numbers. **Elevator: Took forever for it to come down. **Shower pressure: Felt very light...needs to have it come on stronger. **No microwave: Only if you do an extended stay which is 3 nights or longer. Overall, it was a decent stay despite certain cons. Would I recommend staying here??? Sure...however, if you're going to eat in your room be careful of dropping food to prevent attracting ants or dump your food in the dumpster. Otherwise, if you just need a place to crash and don't want to go too far, it's fine here. I can only attest to their classroom-style conference center. I visited the Oak Tree Inn's conference center for my food handler certification class/exam. The conference room was so janky and old! The tables, chairs and carpet had all seen much better days. There were pictures on the wall with those cheesy 1980s gold frames.....which were broken and then mended back together with scotch tape. They did bring us some hot water, tea bags and coffee, which was nice. And the hotel lobby was clean and inviting. I just wish they took more pride in their conference rooms. You can buy new frames at the dollar store! Everything seemed dated and neglected. read more

Place is ok for the money. But it was under lots of construction on the outer face when we stayed for 2 nights in Nov2016. So from outside it was just covered in scaffolding and debris. Its in a good area, so we felt safe at night. Seem like that have weekly rates and have a few regulars who are staying long term. Rooms are very basic. no frills. Has coffee maker, but we didn't have any coffee in our room. TV remote didnt have any batteries. Lights are kinda dim. Room was kinda dirty when we checked in. Looks like they did wipe down the furniture or bathroom sink. Management sent somebody up right away to clean and were apologetic too. They have donuts and coffee cakes, bananas and coffee for breakfast. So its ok for getting a quick bite. Probably wouldn't stay here again, but it was decent price and in a better neighborhood, so thats why we choose this one. read more

I've been in this hotel for 3 months, starting with staff they are so friendly and professional, the housekeeping is very good, maintenance is available always. I am on the final week of a 60-night extended stay here at the Oak Tree Inn, and I am extremely happy with my stay and the value you get here for this price. Definitely a five star rating, when compared to other motels in the area at its price range. ---Service: For extended stay guests, service and room cleaning is included in the rate. Your room is serviced twice per week and you get fresh towels and sheets. They let you pick the days you want it cleaned, which was a huge help for me so I could adjust it around my work schedule. I believe if you are paying a daily rate, then cleaning is included every day of your stay. Other motels (such as Extended Stay America) charge an additional fee for this, and they only provide a "refresh" as opposed to a full room cleaning. Coming home to a spotless room twice a week with the bed made was super awesome. ---Safety/Security/Staff:There is staff 24/7 and I never felt unsafe here once. Nothing went missing from my room the entire time, and no instances of "bad neighborhood" vibe. The staff was VERY friendly and nice, and never once gave me problems or issues (even after the countless times I locked my key in my room or lost it all together and had to ask for a replacement at 1AM when I would come back from whatever I was doing) ---Comfort: The bed was VERY comfortable. This was probably my favorite thing of the entire hotel. I felt that I was getting a Marriott mattress for a motel price. Lots of pillows that were actually good pillows, not flat lifeless ones you would expect from a motel. ---Water Pressure: Water pressure was satisfactory and not once had an issue with water temps. ---Breakfast: The daily continental breakfast included muffins, fresh bananas and apples, pastries, doughnuts, coffee, orange juice, milk + cereal, etc. While not a full hot-breakfast, it had way more options. I am on a low-cal diet at the moment, so I mostly just walked in and grabbed a free banana on my way to work. Very convenient. ---Environment/other guests: Before booking this hotel, I stayed for two nights at the Extended Stay America:Monrovia that was across the street. I hated it there because of the trash odor that seeped in the rooms and because of the shady guests. At the Oak Tree Inn, I didn't feel that prostitutes were my roommates and I loved that my room didn't smell like garbage. Seriously, the Extended Stay America is an absolute craphole and I feel bad that employers choose that place to send their people for corporate training. When comparing the two facilities, Oak Tree Inn wins in several categories. ---Pool/Jacuzzi: I never used it, but it was cleaned regularly and I was not turned off by the cleanliness of the area. I thought it was nice to have as an option. ---Wifi: Free! Connection was good, no complaints. The only negative, and it's not like they can do anything about it-- the parking lot design is weird and sometimes when the place was full up-- I had to park on the street. Not really a big deal, and my own fault as I was usually coming in during late hours. Overall, this place completely met and exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, the rooms were good (it's still a motel, so please keep expectations reasonable), the beds were comfy, and the place was clean. This is way better value than any other motel-rate lodgings in the area. read more

This place is undergoing a much need renovation! We checked in and immediately left. The carpet was filthy, and the desk chair was held together with duct tape. It felt like critters were inhabiting the disgusting carpet. We checked into the Doubletree next door! read more
