There aren't enough trash cans placed around the facility and they aren't carefully monitored on tournament days. We've been to other facilities that manage to keep up with trash and bathroom needs on busy days. Of note: previous reviews mention lack of air conditioning. It's now absolutely freezing. No lack of cold air. Parking: plenty of parking. The lot is not in great shape but parking is easy and straight forward. Concessions: Available. We've been to multiple tournaments and glad that it's predictably open and stocked with basics. I'm concerned about young kids developing & playing on basketball courts that aren't sized properly. I don't know how they learn correctly if out of bounds has such variability. Coaches need to point it out and teach the kids about it so they don't feel crazy if they're constantly going out of bounds. In my opinion the facility needs to hold themselves to a higher standard. Either maintain the facility before during and after events with professional custodians who take pride in their work or don't rent it out. If the facility is passing along cleaning duties to the organizations that rent it, re-think that.

The park sits on two or more acres which means it has plenty of green space. Despite all the amenities, some things I did not spot were public bathrooms, covered picnic table area, and a swimming pool, but there is a parking lot. There are some benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the property, found usually under some of the large oak trees. Parking is easily available in a medium sized lot or along Presidio or Union streets. The park has the most activities of all the neighborhood parks: basketball, soccer, swimming, plus a playground with swings. There is also a cabana with four tables. Benches are located around the park, generally strategically located near the activities. There are two rusty BBQ grills, and a large grassy area. The playground has a wide variety of activities for kids. This includes climbing a wall, going down a slide, crawling through a tube. Finally, there are easy paths to follow around the park, including from the parking lot. In all, the park is designed well and seems to serve a good purpose.

One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

The interesting thing about the parks in this neighborhood is that each park has a different sport focus. So, here, we get sand volleyball! There is also a basketball half court. This park is very family friendly. There is a covered pavilion with four picnic tables, and two grills. Behind the pavilion and side of the volleyball court is a large grassy area where people frequently play with their dogs. Additionally, there are two benches under trees. There is a beautiful, large tree with shaded seating around it in front of the pavilion. There is only one trash can, but I have not seen it overflowing. Frequently people walking dogs can be seen dropping off their sealed doggie bags into the trash there. In front of this park are the neighborhood mailboxes. This is a great neighborhood park.

It should be pointed out that this is an HOA Park not a city park. On this property, you will find a covered picnic area, two grills, half basketball court and a volleyball court. There are also two benches towards the back of the property along with what appears to be a bocce ball court. There's lots of green space to run around in, but I was surprised there was no play scape and there are no public bathrooms. However, just a couple of blocks down Union Street you will find better amenities at the Union HOA park.

I googled the address and it came up as Chandler Creek Recreation Center and there were signs that said Meadows at Chandler Creek (which is the neighborhood we turned into from AW Grimes). Confusing. There is a nice sidewalk path you follow from the street that leads down to the pavilion. There is a sand volleyball area and basketball court too. The smaller kids had a playground to play in. The bathrooms were not bad for a park. Two stalls, one sink and hand dryer. It had plenty of grass to set up an obstacle course and camp gladiator station. For those who like to walk, there is a half sand trail and half cement path to walk around. I see the pool area is getting some work done to it. Looks like the kiddos will have fun here once it's complete.

The staff member on the phone told me to come in person since their system showed a room was open. However, when I arrived, I was told there were actually no rooms available, and it had been that way for some time. This was very disappointing and frustrating because it felt like a miscommunication between staff, and it ended up wasting time and effort driving there just to get a "no" in person. I truly wish the information had been accurate and consistent. The facility itself looked very nice, and I would have loved to book it, but they really need to organize their reservation process better. Hopefully they improve this so future guests don't face the same issue.
