So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. We loved that the pier was far and secluded enough from the playscapes so it wouldn't distract our littles, and the kids at play wouldn't disturb the fish* ;). The playscapes were covered and nicely spread out with many fun play zones and structures (including two zip lines). The park has well-kept grassy spaces, walkways and restrooms, and you can even rent kayaks and pavilions with tables for parties. We had the best time and can't wait to return! Unsafe at the moment…read more There have been reports recently that I have heard of men hiding in the bathrooms, including the women's bathrooms. One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". They also used to have a rock climbing wall (unsure if it's still there). This makes for one of the best parks in Austin in my opinion.

We come here often for evening walks, or to play with our dog, or picnics, or to set up a hammock in the trees. People are usually pretty good about keeping their dogs on the leash, but every now and then you'll see somebody who doesn't have their dog leashed. They also host community events every so often (music, movies, fireworks, etc).
