Quite the plain looking place from the outside. Typical bar and grill inside. We got some broasted chicken that was very good. I had a piece of cod with garlic bread. The fish and the bread were both very tasty. It took a while to get the food during lunch time but it was a good meal. read more

NOT HAPPY WITH MANAGEMENT Me and 10 friend had dinner there and the waitress over charged my buddies card we often eat there so they offered to give credit for next time we stop cuz management was at twins game took his name and we let it go at that i am local so we have big take out orders for friends and family buddys stop and wanted to eat there said he had 70 dollars in credit from that night called them and asked about it and they wouldn't honor it now we go to HARDING better chicken and better prices read more

I was honestly surprised by how good the food was here. I will say the cheese curds were my favorite and some of the best cheese curds I've had in minnesota. The portions are also great at really low prices. The recent updates to the interior really brighten up the place and modernize it. We played pool while we waited for our food and the staff was happy to put on the wild game on the tv when we requested it. By far the best part of oak lawn is that they have the friendliest staff. I have been driving past this place for 9 years and decided to bring my wife here for dinner. What a great little place and the Broasted Chicken was delicious ! The beer was ice cold and the Deep Fried Mushroom app was very good! Wife had a side salad and it was very nice. Cole slaw was cold and crispy We will defiantly make this our go to place. The staff was amazingly friendly and the crowd was a nice mix of old and young. We are 65 Plenty of seating. We will be bringing our Chicken Loving Grand children here when they come up! read more

We did their takeout option tonight. AMAZING! I had their 2 piece dark chicken meal. I was happily surprised at how hot it still was when it got home, so hot that I burnt my fingers (not complaining a bit)! And they threw in the softest chocolate chip cookie per meal! I love this little bar! My family owns a cabin on a lake near by and we visit this bar on a regular basis. Every Friday night there is a drawing for a cash give away! It's always busy and a great atmosphere! If you go, try the cheese curds! They are the best I've ever had! read more

I have been going to Brainerd/Garrison area for years. I would like to just say that this little tavern serves outstanding bar food. Although a tavern, many people brought kids to eat here and it tolerated the kids just fine. Friendly staff, very reasonable food, and tasty. Quality appetizers and I would offer the tacos and burritos are exceptional (three soft shells stuffed with meat and all the fixings for 5 bucks). Burrito comes out stuffed with beef and piping hot with tons of melted cheese. Burgers and wraps are solid as well. Hits the mark for an older lake area tavern with solid food. I had went into Oak Lawn Tavern because its by my house (new to the area), to have a quick bite to eat. On Friday 8-1-14, there was one server covering the whole restaurant and one bartender at the bar. If it's Friday I would hope that the Manager would staff accordingly, she couldn't handle the whole floor by herself. (No she can't!)(the Manager should be a Manager) I waited 45 minutes to try and get my food I paid for my drink and of course I never got my food because I walked out. The excuse I got was "we only have one grill". I've managed restaurants in the past. First of all, the server never once came to the table to apologize for the slow service. No Manager came over to apologized either. I don't want my food for free, I just want to be noticed and taken care of like a guest. They say when people have a bad experience they tell a hand full of people, well it's more then that. When I told my coworkers about my experience they had the same experience, the last time they were there and they live five minutes away, they chose to drive into Brainerd, wish I would have known. Never again I'll stick to a place in Brainerd for food. I might visit for karaoke or a pop but not food if I'm hungry. read more
