What a fun place! There is great indoor and outdoor seating for any size group. I was here for a wedding party and we were placed in the party room. There are games to play and you can order food to be delivered here. The bartender are very knowledgeable and nice! I tried many beers including: welcome home, caramel cookie ale, blueberry pastry sour, strawberry rhubarb, pineapple overboard, and their hard seltzer! It blows my mind that this small brewery has upwards of 25 brews on tap at any one given time. There is literally something for everyone, they have seltzers, brown ales, IPAs, stouts, sours, pale ales, ect. Your friend who "doesn't like beer" will find something that they like. You can call me a "Jack Pine regular" from Seattle. Cause I am, while visiting. I find us having an end of day beer every day. The beer is delicious and the service is good. I pick up conversation with locals and talked about stuff. Plus my wife's family and friends joined us. It's an event, we ordered pizza. The younger kids come too. We played games. Went on their 6 year anniversary. Most of their brews are not all that hoppy, which I enjoyed. I tried almost their whole line-up that day. So good. Dunkel is a perfect middle-of-the-road brew for someone looking to stay in their comfort zone, but add a dark twist. Their Jalapeño brew was SPICY and fresh. I've had others before, but this one had the most kick and flavor. The Blood Orange beer was not too sweet, and might work for a cider lover. Kettle Sour Blackberry and Boysenberry was more fruity than a sour. I'm not big on sours, but I could have finished a full glass. It's been a while since I've liked so many brews from one place. Easy drinking. They have Gabe's in the back room where the bathrooms are. Plenty of parking. read more

GREAT BEER! I've known about this place for awhile, & I'm glad I was able to finally visit. DJ is a terrific beertender. It was fun chatting with him about the history of Jack Pine, & learning about all their beers. There is a large selection of beers to satisfy all beer drinkers. I had a terrible experience here. I come in, solo- with my dog, and am immediately told to get out. I say, ok, but can I order outside? The man at the counter said no. I said ok, but I'm alone, can I order in here and then I'll go outside with my dog. He said again, no, you have to figure it out and leave your dog outside. I will never buy this beer or visit this brewery ever again. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at any brewery, and I have been to many. I will never recommend this space to anyone. For those that live in the area, you're lucky. For those that are from out of town, a new must stop destination as one makes their way to their family cabin or resort. Jack Pine currently is serving two full time beers, a pale ale and a brown ale. Both wonderful and balanced in their own right. The production levels are small but have increased since they first opened in January (4-100 gallon fermenters). Growlers are fairly priced at $10 but would love to see the price for a pint drop a dollar or two as investment to capacity continues. Until then, I'll make sure I stop by when I'm making my way "up north" and invest in the great beers that are getting made. read more

We walked in excited to try a new place ...looking to celebrate our wedding planning journey and a possible option for our wedding party. Unfortunately we left after 8-10 minutes of not being greeted and watching three men stand there while we sat belly up to the bar top. As a small business owner, the first two - three minutes of a staff interaction can "make or break" the sale. We patiently waited 8-10 minutes. *We walked right in- STOOD at the computers/ looking around as we know nothing about this location. (While standing staring at the beer menu- one foot from the three gentleman.) NO words were said/exchanged. So, we just walked to the next best option to have engagement. (Bar top) *We sat at the bar top, because we wanted to interact with the staff and beers. Facts: *We sat giggling watching the gentleman chat with each other and assumed that they would come to notice us. They just really liked their conversation- totally amazing to have friends at work:) But.... *I had a $50 sitting on the counter for the duration of 8 minutes. *After 8 minutes when we started getting our jackets on....one gentleman walked over and told us, "You need to order your beer at the counter. We don't do TABLE a service." (Unfortunately we were not at a table- we were sitting bar top/and an arm reach from the computer system to enter in our drinks.) *There was no sign stating this, nor were we properly informed of the process while sitting two feet. (Keep in mind there was zero costumers ordering and it wasn't busy.) So my take away: If you want service/beer here - walk right in to computer desk area and state with a hand gesture wave we want help. *Because, they won't help unless you ask!!!! Bummed to have had this experience, because I was craving great beer. We went to BIG Axe and Woodlore cider and the service was AMAZING! read more

Stop #2 from Big Axe in Nisswa. Night and day difference. Big and spacious, definitely spent some money on this place. Location is by some motels. First time here and its order at the counter type of place. Had some samples with people behind us (sorry, first time here). Liked Dead Branch Cream Ale 4.6% ABV. Did not like Dunkel Munich Dunkel. Tried Neon Pink Cotton Candy Ale. Did not like as too sweet and tasted like pop. Belgium Blonde Single at 4.5% ABV was good. Also tried Black Bear Oatmeal Stout 5.6ABV good and Mind Chocolate Black Bear at 6% smelled really good and was good. We stayed here longer than Big Axe and I really liked this brewery. Definitely recommend as they have beer for all styles of craft beer drinkers. Cool display of others growlers too. read more

I was really excited about coming to Jack Pine. I had visited other breweries in the area and really had a great experience and was excited about trying a new brewery. Compared to some of the other breweries I have visited, I was underwhelmed by the greeting at the counter from the guy. Visited the Jack Pine brewery while staying at Grandview in Nisswa. Did a little brewery tour and I would say this is a must stop on anyone's list. They had ice houses set up outside for groups to rent. Also had multiple fire pits - the smokeless kind outdoors for people to enjoy a beer by the fire. Dog friendly patio which is a must. read more

Love Jack Pine Brewery! I've been wanting to check this place out forever and I finally did last month! My husband and I stopped here on the way to the cabin with our dog. They have a great patio, and is dog-friendly, too. For our orders, I did a beer flight. The jalapeno cream ale is a really unique beer and had great flavor. The brown ale was probably my favorite out all of them, though. They also have food trucks outside where you can nibble on some food. Doesn't allow dogs. It's their choice, fine. But don't hide behind "it's a Heath code issue" when it's not. Touring breweries in boulder, Denver, Albuquerque, MInneapolis, St. Paul and even other locals and never heard that dogs were prohibited because of health regulations. Stopped in Friday afternoon. Was a bit hard to find, as I drove by just before 4... But retracing my path, after 4, they had a cardboard sandwich sign in the yard saying the taproom was open! Thank you! Great little taproom , one picnic table, four hightop tables, no chairs! Three tables are lined up against a half wall, I noticed all the people were leaning against it since there were no chairs. That works! Nice little place! Stopped into this cozy brewery located in the main drag hwy 371 in Baxter Minnesota! We chose to have the Lone Wolf IPA WHICH DID NOT disappoint! Grassy/ hoppy - perfectly balanced with a nice long finish!! The cozy atmosphere was absolutely perfect and we will definitely be going back soon! Many folk were ending their day sitting comfortably with chatting or playing games! The staff was great - informative and encouraged tasting a few different options in order to make a sound choice. Very cool space. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. After reading the reviews I might of set my expectations to high. The beers were very average. Not well balanced. We are trying to hit every brewery in Minnesota and it is a very competitive market. They have a lot of room for improvement.
