First time visit for breakfast based on recommendation from another fantastic local restaurant…read moremanager. The homemade jumbo carmel rolls (to go) were a hit with the kids and were still warm when I got home. The server waited to have to heated up until I was ready to go to ensure they would be warm. It was a great touch. Based on the recommendation did the breakfast burrito. So glad that I did as it was a meal for 2 but filled with eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, shredded hashbrowns, and maybe some grilled onions. Then topped with queso cheese sauce and the option for spicy or default homemade salsa. I did the spicy salsa on the side for my half and the regular salsa on the side to go for the other half. Definitely a burrito for two. When the bartender found out that this was my first visit she walked me thru the menu and the specials that are available on the weekend (limited quantities smoked ribs and beef brisket) So glad that a trusted voice recommended I give Sunshine's a try. Great food and great staff.

From the excellent service from our two servers to the food it was just what we were looking for! I forgot photos, but I ordered a cup of homemade broccoli cheese soup and a chef salad. Our server who's name starts with a K was not nice!! I asked if there was an extra charge for all white meat and I got the total btch glare! My husband said we should've left, we didn't. I wasn't allowed to take my leftover chicken home either. We've eaten here a few times and this was our first bad experience and last as we won't be back. Our dinner for 3 people was almost $100. The wings are AMAZING and I'd likely wait that long again for them. The hot dogs were not kid friendly with the poppy seed buns. Pretty good bar food…read more.. If you're up in the North Country, Deerwood area... you'll get some pretty bar food grub here. The menu was nearly all burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and a bunch of deep-fried appetizers. A lot of deep fried foods... tater tots, french fries, drummies, onion rings. (Got the picture?) There were only a handful of tables in the restaurant portion of this establishment, but we were lucky to put a few together to accomodate our large group. Service was friendly.... and my drummie basket was delicious (even though it was deep fried) after a long day of traveling! There were a couple salads on the menu - - think taco salad and a chicken salad w/. ...you guessed it, "deep fried" chicken. ha! Everyone in our party had a good experience. :)

We just tried to watch the Badger bowl game there and were basically asked to leave. Our server was very nice and told us she could turn the game on for us at a TV of our choice. Knowing that the Gophers were playing at the same time and most folks in the bar were watching that game, I chose the worst TV in the bar (non HD). After we placed our drink orders, the owner came over to tell us they wouldn't be able to play the game because another TV was connected to it. We said okay, there are ten other TVs here, so isn't that okay? He said no, we won't be able to play the game. We asked if we could move to the next room where NO ONE ELSE was sitting. We were told, I already told you, we won't be able to play the game. I've never been treated so badly as a customer, especially considering we have been there many times and were planning to spend the whole day there watching football and spending money. The food is and has always been mediocre. It's bar food. There is no reason to return to Coach's after this experience, and with a wonderfully welcome staff and good food at the deerstand across the street, thankfully we will never have to.

The crust is wonderful, and it is thin enough for kids to like, and thick enough for adults. (I don't know if this is only something that happens in my family. All the Nelson children insist on thin crust cheese.) The salads are comprised of iceberg lettuce with french dressing and cheddar cheese, but you're lying to yourself if you insist you only like arugula with aged tamarind ginger vinaigrette. (I just made that up right now, and I actually might try and make that salad.) The calzones are huge, and...well...my dad couldn't finish one, but I had no problem. Whenever we're at Rafferty's, I surpass my father and steal his title of the biggest eater in the family. I don't know why it happens; Rafferty's is just a magical place. More proof: the claw machine actually works! For less than a dollar, my sister acquired four new stuffed friends. (I feel like there's room for a pun about stuffed family members there, but I'll refrain.) Well, in conclusion, after spending an entire day canoeing and skiing and hiking, you're a fool if you don't go to Rafferty's.
