    2 story slide at playground

The drive to this park is a winding road through a heavily treed area - so beautiful! Along the road is a trail which we did not walk, but I would imagine is quite nice for runners or walkers (but BEWARE - quasi professional bikers in the area who think they're on the Tour de France. Keep your kids close and be very aware or you're likely to get run over!). There is a marina (for functional purposes only, no shops or restaurants that I saw) but still neat to drive in and look at the boats. The lake has multiple shaded picnics tables along the shore. We were there early on a Saturday morning and there were lots of people sitting at the tables alone, presumably reserving their spot. So if you want a table, get there early! If you can't grab a spot there, there is a large pavilion with a ton of picnics tables up closer to the fields. Lots of boats in the water and fishermen on the shore. It was unclear to me whether or not you could swim there. I'm new to the area (and to lake activities in general) and I don't know how they regulate swim/boat/fishing areas here at the lake. It seems a bit dangerous to swim where there are so many people fishing - I think you're likely to get hooked! - but there weren't any "no swimming" signs up either. I'll have to go back in the afternoon one day and see how it all shakes out. The baseball fields all looked really nice and there were soccer fields as well - ALL STILL CLOSED FOR COVID. The playground is open but the parking lot for it is closed, so you have to park quite far away and walk. The playground: WOAH! I'm sure the picture will not do it justice, but that slide is the height of a two story house. Access to the slide is by the spider net only - through a hole at the bottom of the guard tower. How cool is that?! My kids were in heaven. Bathrooms were very clean. Overall, a great place to go fish, boat, exercise, or party. I think the park needs better signage - it took some driving around to figure out where the playground was - but it's a nice place, well maintained, and boasts something for everyone.

Picnic areas available with grills. First come first serve.

If you want to visit Grapevine Lake and don't know where to start, start at Oak Grove Park! There is ample space, picnic areas with grills, and easy access to the water for kayaking, swimming, etc.

Runners...walkers...roller bladers...meditators! This is the place to be on the weekend to get your movement on. I really loved pounding the pavement out at Oak Grove Park. Typically when I think of a park in Grapevine I think of nothing but trails and dirt roads but there is a place to get your miles in on concrete too. I ventured out here not long ago after not coming out here for a while. It was a beautiful morning with lots of green trees, woodsy vibes and spring blooms. Do not underestimate how hilly this area is also! You can get some good hill training in if you are training for a race out here. Love running along Lake Grapevine and saying hello to all of the friendly people in the neighborhood. I love 'hoods that have outdoorsy people that are friendly and Grapevine will give you that and more. There was lots of parking out there as well. There's a few stops along the route also if you need to use the bathroom and/or grab water. I would recommend bringing your own though as water fountains are few and far between. Overall I really enjoyed something different from my norm and switching up my workout route a bit.

Went for a run here and it's really nice! Safe, security camera, plenty of free parking, fresh air, terrific water views! Great location, highly recommend or a stroll or workout spot.

Beyond that, there are picnic areas, a dog park, children areas, soccer and baseball areas, and it is all next to the lake.

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

In any case, there were probably about 15 dinosaurs in total. Visitors follow a path at their own pace to view each dinosaur. Touching them is prohibited, but you can get pretty much as close as you want to observe and photograph. There is also a small dig area and a staff member walking around with a baby dino the kids can pet. Our first loop through prehistoric park took about 15 minutes. We splashed and swam a bit in the lake and then returned for another quick loop through the dinosaur trail before heading home. Overall, it's a pleasant activity and definitely a kid-pleaser. My children ages 1-9 all enjoyed it. The problem is the cost. $29 is just WAYYYY too high for what this is. Part of me thinks the city of Grapevine should just continue to charge the regular entrance fee into Meadowmere Park and use the dinosaur exhibit as a way to increase traffic into the park during the off-season. We for sure will not be returning to the park until the exhibit is over and the entrance fee returns to a more reasonable rate. If your kid loves dinosaurs and you've never been here, by all means, go, but I'd probably chalk this up to a once in a lifetime activity.

There's an area with carnival type dinosaur games (ring toss, feed the Dino, etc.). Aside from the Dino attractions, the park itself is beautiful. Definitely worth the price of entry!
