The whiskey is excellent as well and goes great in a libation. During the COVID crisis, they flexed their creative muscles and started distilling alcohol for hand sanitizer- sources most of what they needed from folks in the area. It was quite a nice display! Both are very knowledgeable and will entertain your questions about the distilling process. I feel like this is a stop I must make whenever stopping in Yakima! Unfortunately, on the day we went, there were no views due to smoke from various fires. However, I was impressed by the scope of the wind farm; 149 wind turbines placed high on the ridges of Whiskey Dick Mountain. The towers are 221 feet tall, and each blade is 129 feet long. And the displays at the Visitor Center (Renewable Energy Center) are well done and informative. How do these turbines work? Why do they have 3 blades? Find out the answers to these questions and more, and see the turbines up close, at Wild Horse.
