Intro *Full…read moreDisclosure* We only came to this place for hookah and drinks. After grabbing food and drinks nearby, a few friends and I were looking for a place to keep the party going. Enter #HouseOfHookah Ambiance/Vibe The vibe gives very much "club"/"lounge." If you're looking for a spot with a semi-after hours feel, that's dark with low cool/warm lights (blues, reds, etc.), and chill, you've found yourself in the right place. And, as the name suggests, there is hookah - no shortage of it. I don't, however, recall the cost or options, etc, but I think it was fairly extensive. The music was good, from what I recall. 4/5 Service Service was... fine. Nothing outstanding. Just ok. However, it was a hassle just getting in with the different unknown, unposted rules. Unfortunately, I don't recall the specifics, but I just remember it being more complicated/involved than it should be for this establishment. 3/5 Food We didn't order food, nor do I recall even seeing that there was food available, but according to their Google, there are at least light bites available. N/A Drinks This place does NOT sell nor serve alcohol. You, however, are allowed to bring your own liquor in, but there are some rule(s) surrounding it, soi suggest you swing by and get the full specifics before you show up with your liquor. This played into the issue with service. It felt like the rules were being divulged one at a time. Almost like "here is rule 1", then you do whatever it takes to comply, and then it's like, "Oh, but you can't do that because of rule 2, which is..." It just felt overly complicated and unnecessarily, so, again, for a spot that just serves hookah... N/A Final Verdict 3/5 would not recommend. NOT Lord Wellington Approved. I would only recommend going to this place if you fall into 1 of 2 categories: 1) you are either not a drinker or not drinking at the moment or, 2) you're a college student and shouldn't be drinking. While you can bring your own liquor, you had to buy cups, mixers, ice, etc. It's just a hassle if you're looking to wind down your night with a cocktail and a little hookah, having to go through extra steps (particularly at the time considering you would likely be coming after midnight). Not my cup of tea, so I'd personally never return unless things changed.

We hadn't even had a chance to look at a menu. He was terribly rude. We all planned to order hookahs, but were not even given a chance too before they assumed we wouldn't. The attitude of the employee angered us and half of our group left. The rest of us ordered the required amount of hookahs. It gets worse. The last hookah we ordered never came out. We had to wait over 30 minutes for it because they forgot about it. We had to ask about it three times. So they rushed us and then forgot a hookah. We have been to HofH several times and never had an issue. We do not plan to return with this type of service allowed. The ladies restroom was clogged and was out of order the entire time we were there. Also, the music was going in and out the entire time as they are in need of a sound system. I hope they make some changes or they will continue to lose customers.

The octopus was perfectly cooked--tender with great flavor, which can be hard to get right. The calamari was also excellent, crispy and well seasoned without being heavy. Everything we tried felt well prepared and thoughtfully done. Pair that with great drinks and it made for a really enjoyable meal. Overall, just a great spot if you're looking for delicious Mediterranean food and a good atmosphere in Atlanta. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

Neon signs, low and moody lighting, plush and pretty seating, a sizable bar area where we hung out and ordered drinks while our table was prepared, and a couple of huge dining rooms with high ceilings. The front room was actually mostly glass and kind of gave greenhouse vibes (fantastic natural light if you dine there during the day). From the drinks to the apps and entrees, the presentation was there. To give perspective, my drink was set on fire. Get the Blazen if you like a little pomp and circumstance with your delicious cocktail. You're welcome! The only thing I would say is, I brought my friend a gift bag that contained a small bottle of champagne (no intention of opening it, of course). I think there are more hospitable ways of keeping unwanted outside items out of the dining area than the way I was initially handled. You can just inform patrons of your policy and offer to hold it at the hostess stand until after the experience. I was eventually offered this option after a lot of discussion amongst the staff while I stood there (and once they saw that my ride had already left and I had nowhere to take the bag). But the first reaction was to try to stop me at the door in a very bouncer-ish way. If an establishment hosts large groups, people may naturally bring gifts (once again, with no intention of breaking any policies). So that was kind of jarring, but after it was sorted out I still had a great time.
