Lovely little restaurant on the waterfront. Menu is small, but representative of an Italian restaurant Service is very good....the staff is very attentive and the owner is always about checking to make sure things are going well.
We started off with the spinach dip...everyone loved this. I tried it, but to be fair, I am not a fan of spinach dip. It wasn't bad, because the dish was clean, but I am not a fan of it. Based on the reception, I am going to say it was a winner, if you like that sort of appetizer.
The Queen and I got the Antipasto Italiano (italian meats and cheeses). The selection of meat and cheeses were nice, but the overall size was a little small in my opinion.
For entrees, me and The Doctor got the Spaghetti Bolognese and The Queen got the Spaghetti Arrabbiata. The bolognese was very good. The sauce was loaded with meat. For the Arrabbiata, I would say that the presentation looked great, but this is not a dish I would eat because it is spicy hot. The Queen likes hot and super hot, so this was eaten with relish by her. Because she likes hot stuff, the owner brought out extra red pepper as well as an oil that contained spices and whatever was used to make the Arrabbiata, only it was hotter. The Queen used the oil and was ok with it.
My friend got a steak with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. He is not big on potatoes, so he asked if he could have some of my pasta and he would give me the potatoes. I looooooooove potatoes and these were so good. They were whipped very well and loaded with butter and herbs. They were a great side to my pasta :-)
We did not do dessert as we were stuffed. They also do pizzas, so will have to try that out next visit down. All in all, this was a great Italian meal in Mexico. read more
