It was literally one of those garage kept, only drove to the grocery store once a week cars. It had low miles and everywhere I took it people loved it. At one point I was offered $10,000 from a cab company because of the low miles and the trunk and backseats had never been used. Unfortunately my wife and I don't have a garage and I have difficulty with the cold. We took the car to Mobile Audio in November 2019, located at 1404 Kurt Drive in Bloomington, IL and had an automatic start installed. On December 23rd, two day before Christmas my wife and I got up to go to work. It was a bitterly cold morning so we used the new automatic start. We both went out and got in the car and before even putting the key in the ignition I rolled the windows down to remove the frost. My wife and I heard a crackling sound from under the driver side dash, in between my legs. The next thing I know there was smoke pouring out of the dash, and minutes later the car was engulfed in flames. The fire department arrived and put the fire out, but the car was totaled. This was a terrifying experience, and two days before Christmas. The Sheriff's department that was on scene said we were lucky we were not on the highway when the fire started or we could have been killed. If that wasn't bad enough we are still fighting with Mobile Audio who will not take responsibility. The car has been inspected multi times and was determined it was either technician error or a bad part. They claim since it can't be proven, how can it, our car burned to a crisp, they will not take responsibility and offered to settle for $250.00. That's right, two hundred and fifty dollars! Even if the part was faulty, they installed it! They advertised it! So be warned, they don't stand by their parts or their work!!!

Had to stop in first thing on a cold day while it was raining. Within seconds of entering the store…read morewe were asked how we could be helped. We expained what was going on with our car and explained that it was dying but starting back up, and we would like him to test the battery and alternator to see if that was the problem. He put on his rain coat and took his computer out in the rain to check our car. He told us the readout was fine and there were no problems with either the battery or alternator. Then he told us that Honda's have a problem with the distributor cap and coils and that he really thought that was the problem. Well the part was over $200 and of course he explained you can't return it once it is purchased as it is a non returnable item. We figured since the battery and alternator tested fine maybe he was right. He continued to explain how to replace the part on the car and said people have changed them in his lot before. He said he had the tools if we need to use them and explained everything I needed to do. My friend called his mechanic friend who was willing to install it for $125 but I told him it sounded like something I could do. Advance Auto Parts really came through on this and saved us a lot of money and time by explaining why he thought this was the problem and the proper way to install the part. After we installed the new cap and coils the car ran and started excellent! He diagnosed the problem correctly and we got the car back on the road very quickly. Greg was the guy that helped us and I must say he is really very knowledgeable and very helpful. He didn't complain about the weather and tell us to come back later, he did his job and he went above and beyond to diagnose the problem and he made sure we knew how to install the part. Honestly this has been the best experience I have had at any of the auto part stores and I will make sure I return to this store for all of my parts. Thank You Greg!! Providing customers with their purchase paperwork is a basic responsibility, and I shouldn't have to repeatedly chase the dealership to get documents that should have been sent weeks ago.
