Almost always get great customer service here, thus three overall stars, today was so-so. Came in for some misc. shelf/general isle goods. Countermen were busy (One on the phone with a customer, the other with a walk-in). I had a lot of loose items, so I set them on an open counter, next to a cash register, which is typically what I've been told to do on all my previous visits by the usually attentive staff. A third employee came from the back (storage) area and nicely said someone would be right with us, as he didn't have register authorization. The counterman previously on the phone walked past my wife and I a couple of times, while the other that had been helping a walk-in, had seen us, finished with that walk-in, then hailed another customer to the counter (out of order.) It was apparent, at least to us, that unlike previous countermen, it was all about getting in their line.... So the wife held a spot in line, while I baby-sat our plethora of auto goodies. A couple minutes went by, then the employee (Jose-L per the receipt) that had been on the phone said he could help who was next. The wife and I started gathering all of our goodies to head from the register we were at, to his register. Half way through gathering up the stuff he stated, "Oh, I can come to you" which was nice and consistent with how previous countermen had trained me to be as a customer. Jose-L promptly rang us up, didn't offer a bag (They typically do) then mumbled something unintelligible in Spanish to the other counterman that had ignored us/took customers out of order, which caused an instant snicker from that fella. Maybe it's me being whiny, but this visit didn't come across as a friendly, or an attentive encounter. read more

Came here today after looking around online and after trying other auto parts store, looking for a specific part, an aftermarket for my new car. This place did not disappoint, I have the same scenario years ago and I did not come out empty handed. Now I learned to go to this store first before going online and get dismayed. They can order supplies, or parts you might need. The guy who helped me today is pleasant and attentive. He is young, I can tell that he loves his job. Next time I will get his name and update my review, he is worth noticing, he is impressive. I also looked around for their engine oil supplies, they still have all the weights and grade, now I know where to go specially for the 0-16 which is hard to find. Jose, the Assistant Manager, was great today. I'd bought good quality headlight bulbs here in November 2019 and one went out recently only about seven months after installation. I hadn't kept the receipt but I found the transaction on my credit card history, printed that and brought it in. Even though the credit card billing didn't identify the bulbs I'd bought, Jose searched the computer by the date and charge and found my transaction. It matched up with the bulbs in my headlights and Jose promptly, politely put in new bulbs at no cost under the one year warranty. He recommended I always give my telephone number when the clerk asks for it - I like my privacy and didn't with the November purchase. But my phone number would have immediately brought up the transaction. Thanks, Jose! read more

I went into O'Reilly auto parts in Lompoc to get a tire pressure sensor for my Equinox. I am not very familiar with auto parts so I immediately approached Manny at the front. I understood he was the manager.... but he didn't act like it!!! Manny made me feel like it was a chore to help me and he was "busy". But he was standing around and flirting with another associate, who was also rude! She was approached by another customer and did the same thing to him. They both pretended like I was invisible. The crew in there seems lazy and careless about their store and their customer service. I ended up leaving and getting what I needed at Auto Zone. P.S. I got an account just to complain about these associates. I never complain and this pushed me to the edge. read more

Never ever buy a battery at Oreilly. Manager never logged in my purchase. EverStart extreme $139.00 3 year warranty. Battery was only 11months old with sticker on Battery dated 8/16. I didn't have my receipt and they claim they couldn't find battery in their system. Had them put battery on their tester. Result: Dead Cell. They are only retailer that sells this brand and would not warranty it. Lesson learned. Proceeded to Amazon to do the right thing and purchased Optima Yellow Top for $30 more than the POS that o Reilly sold me. I will never ever purchase a single thing from O'reilly read more

Been having the toughest time with my car lately and I always get the best service when I go into O'Reilly's...but this past weekend in particular. I want to say thank you to David. He is very thorough and is extremely helpful. I had a warranty on a part that I had purchased about 6 months ago but I couldn't find my reciept for the warranty.. I called and David was able to look it up and determine warranty was still good, he put the replacement part I was going to need ready on the side for me and when I walked in, it was very simple exchange of the old part and the new part (less than 5 minutes)...I must say most of the employees I've come in contact with on the phone or in person at oreillys are also always friendly and helpful...David thank you again.
