A classic dive bar but above standard dive bar quality. This place is an Omaha institution, and everyone needs to check it out at least once. Beautiful beer garden!

Just went to meet friends and have a drink. Great service, neighborhood, and friends ... like the dive-y bars I am used to in Wisco

By far the best burger I've had in Omaha. $3.50 for a burger and it tasted truly fresh. Loaded fries were amazing. Good selections of alcohol and awesome service. Carrie we will be back to see you!!!! She was awesome.

Does the entirety of O'Leaver's smell like bodily fluids? Yes. Does O'Leaver's get ear-drum-bursting loud on show nights? Yes. Do O'Leaver's clientèle possess a certain "F-Off, A-hole," aura? Yes. Do these things make it the best dump in Omaha? HELL TO THE YES. I mean, srsly folks, if you've got a problem with sticky arm rests and loud rock and roll, then you are not wanted at this bar. Go back to your split-level and enjoy a nice Appletini. In the meantime, I will enjoy cheap ass well whiskey in my barf-covered chair under a stapled-to-the-wall cover of a Hall and Oates record, while a troupe of 20-something kids who just drove through 7 hours of snow and ice and hell try to make a name for themselves in one of the most iconic bars of one of the most musically iconic cities in the country.

I echo everything Valerie said. But I'm not sure why she only gave it one star. I give it five for everything she cited!

We had potato skins with cheddar and bacon as an appetizer. It was tasty but not wonderful. Bookguy had fish and chips. The fish was great, very crispy and light. It was a big portion so leftovers provided dinner later. The fries were a generous size and good too. I had a patty melt on rye with a salad. The salad was pretty standard and I really liked the patty melt-- big enough to take half home and not greasy. It was rather noisy while we were there and they probably could have used another server. We enjoyed our lunch and plan to come back again.

I went with the fish and chips and was blown away by this portion size and flavor! Two HUGE cod filets accompanied by a side of fries, but I went with the onion rings as I heard they were delicious. The cod has a thick, crunchy breading around it, making it very very filling. The onion rings were very unique. Not a long onion deep fried, but small onion pieces within the breading. I've never had something like that before, but they were golden brown and amazingly crunchy. Make sure you get extra tartar sauce for this dish because you're going to need it! Service was quick and easy for a take out order. I would come back for another meal to try their other menu options and drinks. Thanks for a great first impression!

I came for the Detroit-style pizza, easily the most underrated pizza style there is. If you know, you know. I ordered The Cadillac: cream cheese, cherry peppers, hot honey. On paper, it's chaos. In practice? A beautifully thought-out balance of sweet and spicy. Rich without being heavy, heat without going overboard. Someone in that kitchen gets it. And for a moment, it's flirting with greatness. Almost a perfectly executed Detroit pie... until the crust. That signature Detroit crisp--the caramelized, fried-edge crunch--is just a little undercooked. Not bad, but quickly soggy. Just missing that final snap that makes this style elite. Still, credit where it's due. This is a valiant effort, and not an easy style to pull off outside its home turf. I see you, Omaha. You're closer than you think!
