Great place for the craic. Very personable, excellent staff, and they make a mean Bailey's Coffee.

The chicken sandwich on white bread however was US grade-school cafeteria level in effort. And came with potato chips. Think wonder bread, boiled chicken breast and BUTTER! My wife's tuna salad was as tasteless. Not good value, lacking taste and topped with total lack of service. This is a place I will not remember from my trip. I try to support local small business, particularly when traveling. But this place really disappointed us. Avoid.

We decided to try An Corcan on the first visit, as we returned to Sneem from a trip to Skelligs Chocolate, and came upon its cheery, colorful facade in Waterville right around lunch time. We were so impressed with this little place that we actually made a point of returning on our second visit to Ireland. An Corcan's interior is just as cheery and welcoming as its exterior. It almost seems like a little tea house, with lace tablecloths and bud vases on each table. The service is so affable and hospitable; I get the feeling not too many tourists dine at An Corcan, and we were welcomed in the typical Irish manner, with broad smiles, good-natured banter, and plenty of questions about where we were from. The food at An Corcan is surprisingly good, given its off-the-beaten-path location in an off-the-beaten-path town. It has an interesting mix of Irish pub fare (cream of vegetable soup which is lovely, roasts and fish and chips which hit the spot, and the famous Irish "toasted special," in this case a combo of ham, cheese, tomato and onion), and American bar food (chicken wings which we didn't bother to sample, chicken curry salad which was actually a big hit with our group, and burgers). There's something for everyone at An Corcan. If we find ourselves in Waterville again, we will definitely return -- for the homey, welcoming atmosphere with cheery service; for the simple, delicious food; and for the reasonable prices.

While in Killarney, which turned out to be one of our favorite stops while in Ireland, we wanted to…read morehit a true local restaurant and Cronins was just the spot! Cronins sits on a Main Street through Killarney and feels like old world Ireland from the road to the table. It has a storied past in Killarney, being open over 60 years at this point. The space is as you would expect, cozy, local and welcoming. The menu is rooted in local ingredients including seafood, beef and veggies. We popped in for an early dinner and had an appetizer of the Smoked Irish Salmon, which was fresher than expected. Such a simple dish, but it was executed perfectly. For our mains, we had a burger and the Shepard's Pie. Burger was good. It was juicy, well cooked and the onion relish thing they had going on was *chefs kiss*. The Shepard's Pie was spot on. Both were made with local beef, which was cool and extra tasty! Beyond the food, Cronins also has their own cider, which was phenomenal and oddly enough, the only cider I had the whole time I was in Ireland! That speaks more to the hold Guinness had on me and less to the variety of cider. After the cider, we went with a few house cocktails including the Clover Club and Dingle Donkey. Both were well prepared, vibrant and tasty! Service was uniquely local, friendly and fun! From the bartender to our server, they were both excellent! Overall, Cronins is a stellar spot in a great spot in Killarney! When we get back over the pond and to Killarney, Cronins is on the list to swing by again!

We start with a brie appetizer, which was so delicious. The brown bread with butter and a tomato paste was also quite good. I had the salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was cooked to perfection! Service was excellence.
