Not impressed with this company. We've been using them for a while, but the service has definitely gone downhill. The service technician is usually in and out in about five minutes to spray, with very little "dewebbing." I even took pictures of the eaves and surrounding areas right after his visit to show them that hardly any cobwebs were removed. When I called the office, they kept insisting I check my cameras, claiming the technician did deweb and that "cobwebs can come back overnight." (See attached pictures.) After multiple calls and back & forth with their customer service, they finally agreed to send the technician back. When I asked to cancel, it was another ordeal, I had to call several times just to get a confirmation on the cancellation. The office staff, especially Kimberly, were condescending and unprofessional. If they care about their business, they should reconsider who handles customer calls and customer emails. read more

While the customer service people I've dealt with were super nice, and the actual pest-control technicians who come onsite are awesome (quickly eradicated the ant problem), the company's policies are not customer friendly at all. I signed a one-year contract (not month-to-month auto-renewal) and then moved to an entirely different city 3 months before that contract ended. I was fine to pay for the quarter I personally didn't get benefit from because I signed a one-year contract rather than using the month-to-month option. I was explicit with the O'Connor technician that it was only to be a one-year contract because I was renting and didn't know if I would be there more than a year. I then got a bill 6 months after I moved (3 months after my contract ended) because they had automatically renewed my annual contract without coordinating with me. When I explained this to the customer service person, she totally agreed with me, but said she could not change company policy. Feel bad for the people working here... the company sucks! read more

When I finished my garden remodel, my landscape contractor recommended O'Connor Pest Control to remedy the gopher problem (seems gophers really like new plants!). Because of this referral, I didn't get quotes from anyone else, but now I certainly wish I had! First thing I will admit is that my service started mid-2020, so COVID was rampant. But the first guy who came to the house was knowledgeable and seemed to know what he was doing. I had to sign a year-long contract, but he assured me they would get rid of my gophers! The first month there were to be weekly visits to change the traps and check on activity. A start-up fee of $199 was charged before they would start. The first two weeks went well... and then the first technician I had got COVID! So the other two weeks of my first month did not have any service. I had to call and complain four times before anyone came out. They never finished the first 'month' of service, but instead came sporadically over the next year. About every 5 weeks I had to call and/or write to insist they come to the house to do the service! I have a cat, so I had asked that they only use traps, and not poison. Obviously, the cat could eat a gopher or mole that had eaten the poison, and it would have killed him, too! Several of the technicians they sent out used the poison and each time I had to call and ask them to remove it! Two of the technicians actually told me that they knew nothing about 'garden rodents' and had just been sent because they were so short staffed!!! To top it all off, they didn't even stem the tide of gophers! I was losing a couple of plants each week, and then I would call them again to please do the service they were supposed to do!! And then, just when I thought it was all over, and I had suffered their alleged 'service' for a year, it turns out they can't find one of my payments (cashed at the bank) and they are saying I owe for another month, as well, or else they will charge me an 'early cancellation' charge of $175! To say the least, I would NEVER recommend this company. If I could rate them as a NO STARS, I would. Use them at your own risk. read more

Very unprofessional, the guy calls to cancel the 10 mins before he's supposed to be here for "stomach problems" even though they already called saying they were on the way. Very inconvenient as we rescheduled our day for Easter weekend to make this work because it was "there only time available for the next few weeks" Absolutely ridiculous! read more

I scheduled an appointment to have our house measured for tenting. When the tech arrived (TJ), he insisted on entering our house and inspecting for pests. I explained I already had another inspection yesterday and that it was unnecessary, and we have already installed glue strip traps (which hadn't been installed long enough to catch anything). Instead of measuring the house to produce an estimate for tenting, he left. I called the office and they insisted he needed to tear our bedroom apart (which was just done the previous day) and wouldn't produce the estimate. This company was a complete waste of time. read more

Absolute CON ARTISTS. Called to cancel services in October, moved out of state in November. In December, I get a bill for service rendered in early December. Call again, say I'd cancelled the service and no longer even live there. Person on the phone didn't care: "we rendered the service so you owe". Continued to bill me with a late fee added every month. Y'all willing to mortgage your reputation for $99? Be my guest, still not paying. read more

a few months ago I contacted O'connors Pest Control to fumigate two of my houses, I spoke with TJ Ellis, a nice guy which gave perfect instructions of how to prepare the buildings for the fumagation. I did it all exactly as instructed to avoid damage to my planters around the houses. even though I did it all right, the crew sent to do the job ended up covering all planters around the houses burning/killing all my beautiful plants. i have videos and pictures showing how they didn't care and covered all plants with the tents. I complained and all I got was "no answers" from TJ Ellis and all the managers, instead I got a bunch of calls and emails from Carmen Rodriguez claiming payment for the balance due. damages done to my plants were done for $5,000. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Never call them again!!!!! read more

This was a strange experience. Did not wind up hiring them after inspection and the unprofessional experience. I had planned on retaining them for long term help with property. The company O'Conner pest control was arranged to come out and do an Inspection. They must have given my cell phone number to their employee. He called my cell phone when I answered he said something I couldn't make out, I said hello a few times he said ugh ummmm and after several seconds he hung up on me. Then he called me back several more times. He then called me over and over, leaving a very odd voicemail. (See pics) none of the calls were him trying to call me on behalf of O'Conner. It felt very odd. It was disturbing & most unprofessional. The odd part was one voicemail he left stated to email him at an email not connected to this company but another pest control company. Aside from the very very odd interaction a short inspection was done days later. I didn't mention the many odd calls to my cell phone because it was uncomfortable to me. Didn't hire company and probably wouldn't ever hire or recommend with the inconsistency of what company it actually it. Is it O'Conner or is it Termanix ??? And the repetition of calls made in a short time left me feeling ill at ease. Not sure why the two companies are using same person and the repetition of calls were scary to me after realizing this person had my address ect. Two stars for an inspection. read more

Zero stars would be more appropriate. Do not do business with this company. After signing a contract, they couldn't get rid of spiders around our house. I canceled the contract and they keep sending me a bill. I've called at least 12 times over the past 7 months trying to speak to a manager about our account and they won't call me back. The service manager yelled and interrupted me while I was trying to resolve this finally last week. Shady business and terrible customer service. They are owned by Terminix and I can't get ahold of anyone there either. I've filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

Great service, prompt, knowledgeable! I write this review because of their Rep "T.J." whose customer service is perfection. When you need them, he shows up right away, knows what he is talking about, really pays attention to expressed concerns, takes time to explain things and present available options, returns calls and texts promptly, and solves the problem. We first contacted O'Connor due to rodents in the attic (fruit trees). As is normal, it was a process to handle, but at each stage when I called he showed up or sent a co-worker right away. Then came the Subterranean Termites popping through my hardwood floor one morning. T.J. again showed up very quickly, explained my options, and had it handled right away. O'Connor acts like a small local business, which I like, but is backed by Terminix for warranties etc. which is also good. Highly recommend them. read more

Mike showed up to give us an estimate on time. Was thorough and gave us a fair estimate. I was surprised that he didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. I have a co worker friend getting a similar estimate for his home calling a different company and his quote was more than three times the price. Even better, when I gave the go ahead to do the work, they were able to come back out the same day and complete the job. Dean showed up on time and treated the affected area and you cannot even see where the work was done. I'm super happy with O'Connor and will definitely call them again for any further pest control needs. read more

UPDATE: We're thinking of changing companies. We're getting insects inside the house (fair enough - we have indoor cats, so only let them spray outside), but are very frustrated by their inability to get rid of the gophers that keep killing the plants in our yard. (Our landscapers seem to do more to control the gophers than the O'Connor tech.) UPDATE #2: I'll give them points for responsiveness. They saw this review and called to see what they could do to make things right. We've discussed a plan, and we'll see what happens. I'm hopeful that it will be better. read more

TJ showed up on time and was very thorough and professional doing the inspection of my home. We had it sprayed for ants, spiders and other pests. Chris showed up on time, very thorough inside, on the balconies, around the eves-gutters and perimeters of yard. They have yet to come out to do some spot termite spraying in the attic and eves to nip it in the bud. And some minor exterior repairs. I'm hopeful this level of professionalism continues so we can continue giving them a 5 star review. read more

Disappointed. I dismissed calling competitors choosing O'Connor Pest Control because my friend is friends with the owner. Call and get information from various companies. I have an indoor ant problem, first I've had. O'Conner's Office was quick to schedule initial appointment (but won't after that but you've paid at this point of realizing the office can't help you). I knew immediately upon returning from being away while the tech sprayed indoor and outdoors there was relief throughout and around the house. Day 2 after initial spray there were tons of ants in the food pantry. They too were crawling up the wall from the pantry to the ceiling crawling around all four walls at the ceiling. I called the office to schedule a second spray which is part of warranty only to be told "I can't schedule an appointment your tech will have to call you to schedule that". Wow, office was sure to schedule first appointment (and received payment). By end of day I had not heard from tech, ants tripling in number. Ended up having to use ant spray to get rid of them. Tech called next day, Saturday, only for me to let him know we had to spray. Tech said he would call Monday to check on the situation......I have yet heard from the Tech. I have since called and spoken with a lady at O'Conner's Office to schedule a second spray (covered under warranty ((there are still ants in the kitchen and food pantry)) only to be left with no appointment nor return phone call. Not sure of competitors policy for making additional appointments if additional treatments are necessary so ask, especially if you are told your initial spray is under warranty and that's what you paid for. I would advise if told Tech handles appointments after Office secures a contract and secures first appointment, to ask if the Office can schedule future appointments if original Tech is non responsive to scheduling. Hope this review helps in making a good decision in who to choose for pest control needs. read more

We discovered a massive yellow jacket infestation in our backyard. After checking with neighbors, everyone recommended using Austin at O'Connor Pest Control. Austin arrived, assessed the situation and returned later when the Yellowjackets were "bedding" down in their nest. He dressed in his protective gear and, after digging out their hiding place underneath a garden wall, sprayed a solution to kill them. Even though the actual nest turned out to be too deep to pull out, Austin's spray did the job. He then came back the next morning to check and make sure the job was done. And it was. Afterwards, had a question and called ... 4 times over a two week period. 3 times left name and number for tech to call me - NO RESPONSE; 4th time left message for supervisor - NO RESPONSE. Facing an imminent cute small rodent explosion problem, I called O'Connors and they came out right away, deployed live traps. Within a couple of days one pesky varmint was caught and O'Connor came out same day and relocated it, rebaited and redeployed the traps (3). I appreciated their responsively as well as keeping their traps on my property for other such varmints w/o extra cost (except when one is caught). I so appreciate their help in this. read more

I had a ant problem. I called O'Connor and they sent Jake out to meet with me. When he arrived I showed him the problem and we agreed on a treatment program for me. He did a treatment at my home and no more ants. I also scheduled a service every three months to have the cob webs removed from the outside of my house as well as the garage. I then called about termite service. Joe came to do a free termite inspection on my home. He was very friendly and helpful. I scheduled an appointment for a tenting. He came back a week prior to the tenting and explained the procedure for the tenting. After the fumigation treatment, I had the repair work done also by O'Connor. The repair work was done in a span of two days. I was very happy with the work done. O'Connor is a wonderful company to work with. They make me feel confident that the work was done correctly. Last Friday I was calling frantically and needed an emergency estimate to get rid of a pesky nat infestation the rain had brought about. I called everyone in Goleta and Sb and O'Connors was the only business who went out of their way to get a technician to make time to come out the receptionist was the only receptionist after calling four other businesses that had pep in her step on a Friday morning and actually called each technician and when out of her way to accommodate me . They sent a a technician named Shane and not only did he explain to me what the source of the problem was he was professional and polite when he came in to my business . Shane then came in at early hours to accommodate my work schedule he was willing to come in Saturday or early morning Monday before business hours (keep in mind every other business couldn't even get me an estimate until Monday ). Also Natasha the person who handles the billing made me feel really comfortable and I feel comfortable keeping an account with them because they all seem on it and like they are trust worthy and know what they're doing . O'Connors is definitely your go to place who is going to save the day which is usually exactly what you need when you are calling around for termination / pest control!
