I've had the experience of working with quite a few termite companies over the years, and as a Realtor in the area, I feel 100% confident in recommending any client, friend or family member to Escalera Pest Control. Fred (the owner of the company) is honest, reliable, competitively priced, and they always do a great job and stand behind their work. They will always be my go to company for anything "termite" or "pest" related! read more

Fred and his employee were a great team to hire to get rid of some rat problems ! Showed us the proper way to avoid them and helped with plugging holes where they were getting into our attic. Highly recommend them and there services read more

Easy to schedule, prompt service, same day report! Armando was friendly and went over his findings with me before he left. Will use again!

Decided to add pictures of the work done. Thought it was overpriced for replacing the "fungus rotted wood" --white parts. The "fungus rotted" wood didn't look that bad honestly... the wood structures that looked like they had holes from pests is the one that should have been replaced- it's on the same wood as one of the fungus rotted wood, yet it wasn't replaced. And they still haven't responded back to my email about their work done read more

Fraud. We paid thousands of dollars for a heat treatment which not only melted our water filtration system, electrical wiring, bubbled the paint and caused our Subzero fridge to break down, but it didn't even work! This company refused to effectively resolve the ongoing infestation issues and was argumentative and dismissive of our concerns. After 6 weeks of attempting to come to a fair resolution, in which they are entirely unwilling to resolve satisfactorily (even though they are in breach of the warranty), we are seeking legal action. read more

Escalera Pest Control came to the house and inspected every inch of it for us. They found some dry rot and old termite damage and took care of all our needs to bring our home back to perfect condition. Their technicians are all professional and very highly skilled. Their work was performed with the same pride and care as if it were their own home. The repairs made to the damaged wood was highly skilled and so well blended to the original wood that you can't tell, just seamless. My wife and I are very very impressed with the work that has been performed. Again, all their employees are top notch and truly care about the appearance of your home. We highly recommend Escalera Pest Control. You won't be disappointed. They sincerely care about the job being done right. read more

I made an appointment last week, and asked the person on the phone if they'd go under the house to spray - I asked twice to make sure. She said yes. Come today at appointment time, the tech called and asked the address - the one the office person gave him was wrong. He got here and refused to go under the house. I didn't know that it's unnecessary, but the person in the office didn't say that - she just agreed. I asked the tech to call the boss and he said nope, we're not spraying, and he bailed. Which I mean - that's fair, he doesn't need to deal with this. He handled himself fine. The office person though - she lied. If she didn't lie but just got it wrong, why does she not know something that simple? read more

I received my estimate and it was considerably less than another company recommended by our real estate agent.

I engaged Escalera to do a full pest and termite inspection when my wife and I were in escrow to buy a home. We bought the home and Armando Avila was the manager assigned to my project for a number of remediations. He handled everything well and I'm very grateful for him. Thank you Armando. read more

These guys are great. I spent too much time calling all around to different companies yesterday who either didn't answer, would need to call me back, or couldn't help. This was after my wife tried the same and was told they were too swamped by multiple companies. I went on the state licensing boards website, searched for "operators" in Fillmore and Escalera came up. They answered my call in the first few rings, worked with my schedule, and sent a guy out the next day (today). Well maintained truck, young local guy who has a valid field operator's license. They were cheaper than any company that quoted me a price and showed up right on time. The tech, Cody, called me to let me know he was done spraying before taking off. Couldn't be happier with this experience. Fingers crossed the ants don't come back... Thank you Escalera Pest Control. read more

They came out and did the inspection a couple months ago. After 4 reminder phone calls asking about the report I simply gave up. Each time I was told I would get it and it never has never been produced. What a waste of time. read more

I enjoyed the easiness to set up my home inspection over the phone and the man who came out to see me was so knowledgeable and friendly I set-up work with the company the following week. Very good experience, would recommend to others. It's hard to find good old fashion family businesses. I read more

We had Jason and let me tell you, what a great guy. Nice as can be and very efficient. Would highly recommend.

I had two dramatically different experiences Another company which starts with an L and ends with a Z Wanted $18,000+ to do the work for my schedule one I was so shocked at some of the areas they said needed $7,000 in work we're mostly new wood with a little water damage I decided to have a second opinion and called Escalera Fred the owner came out and did his inspection I had a crew working on site so we took care of some of the wood replacement and wood rot using filler under Escalera's supervision So we did do some of the work but My bill from Escalera was $1500 I feel the other company was totally dishonest and disrupted my escrow with bad information and my buyers canceled Escrow They also miss identified the fungus on property It only shows how honest and forthright Escalera pest is compared to the other company Thank you so much Fred I look forward to working with you in the future read more

Mike from Escalera came out and within a short period of time determined that I had opossums under my house. He figured it out by looking at the paw prints and the tail imprints under the house! He closed up all the open access to the crawl space, and the problem was solved! Brilliant! Much thanks! read more

Fred and Escalera Pest Control provide honest and professional service at an honest price. I highly recommend them. read more

They seemed to rush through the job without taking proper care of our property. Scheduling a couple of days in advance to stay out of our home for the tenting process was difficult enough so it was not helpful when they gave us warnings at the last minute before the tenting was to take place. They should have emphasized when we set up the appointment that all plants must be far enough from the walls of our home so the tent can be secured to the ground without covering any plants otherwise the plants near the tent will be killed by the gas Also they should have used boards with foam bottoms when they walk on our metal roof . They should have been more careful in dragging the tent over the roof and disconnecting gate doors to limit the damage. They also charged $800 extra for wood repair which consisted of painting two small sections of about 6 x2 inches of wood This seems like a very opportunistic pricing policy My real estate agent recommend this company for the terminaite inspection so I used them for the fumigation but now I would NOT recommend them for either. read more

The people I dealt with at Escalera were courteous and professional. They did some termite repair to my house. The repairmen were on time, did good work and the price was fair. We also had the house tented. We have a tile roof and the workmen who applied and removed the tarps broke many tiles which was maddening but not unexpected. When we were able to re-enter the house, I noticed that the power lines from the power pole to our house had been broken away from the house. I called Escalera and sent in photos of the damage as requested. I received a call back saying that my photos would be forwarded to the fumigation company. Apparently Escalera subcontracts to have the actual fumigation work done. After a few days I had not heard back from any fumigation company so I called and left another message at Escalera. Never heard back. I won't be using them again and now I'm stuck getting the wiring repaired. read more

Working with Escalera Pest Control has been such a great experience! The inspector was on time, polite and very knowledgeable. They are definitely my number one choice for pest control. No problems with the treatment and all is well. Thanks again! read more

Worst pest control company ever! Very pleasant workers. Horrible owners they talk down to people over the phone. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. An HR nightmare also. read more

Fred was prompt, transparent about pricing and explained everything that needed to be done for my pest issue. Excellent customer service!

Another zero star rating if it were available. They took my landlady for a ride, talking her into a number of unecessary repairs that had nothing to do with any insect infestation. Racked up a tab of tens of thousands of dollars. read more

ZERO rating if I could. They came out on time and found termites in the deck and a little dryrot. I am a licensed contractor. This is what I was expecting. We are putting the property on the market so we needed a termite report. I completely removed the entire deck and replaced with a new deck and also replaced the minor dryrot. I asked them to come out and reinspect, they did and they say all the repairs were done but would NOT give ma a clear report because I did not pay them to fumigate the entire structure. When I took the complaint up the chain of command I was told there were also termites in the home (that was not in the original report) and that is why they would not issue a clear report. Sorry but that was complete BS! I hired Jhonneys Termite to come out and inspect. They did and they found nothing in the way of termites and issued a clean report. I will never do business with Escalera Pest Control again. They are liars. read more

Escalera Pest Control are very professional and their customer service outstanding. An accidental repair was needed after the job was completed and they were not only very cooperative, but went above and beyond to ensure we were extremely satisfied as customers. Rick Escalera is a stand-up business owner and I would use his company again in a heartbeat. Initially, I had a couple of issues but Rick put my mind at ease and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. This type of customer satisfaction is rare these days and I greatly appreciate Rick and his team! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Their year warranty won't be honored under any circumstances. Do yourself a favor and go with anyone else in town. read more

I have known Rick Escalera for 25 years starting when he treated my first house and did repairs to meet an escrow deadline. I've used him ever since! His honest, can do work ethic is second to none. He knows his business and I wouldn't trust my beautiful house with it's huge deck to anyone else! I would highly recommend Escalera Pest Control to take good care of your house. read more

I have used Escalera Pest Control for decades. They have ALWAYS provided the best in customer service and quality work. As a local Realtor, I have seen the work of every pest control company in town, Escalera is clearly the best! read more

So my husband and I had an ant problem for what felt like forever! We tried litteraly everything under the sun to get rid of them, nothing would work long term. Escalera came to our house and sprayed and we noticed a difference right away! No ants, and months later we are still ant free! We live in the middle of a fruit orchard so the fact that we haven't had any in our house is truly a testimate to how wonderful Eaxalera is!! read more

The owner of "Escalera Pest Control" performed a home inspection for us. Rather than probe for any termite damage he proceeded to tear our eves apart only hours before the house was to be shown. He seemed to take great pleasure in ripping the house to shreds. His pompos self righteous attitude stunned me ! I will never hire "Escalera Pest Control" in the future and unless you want your home left in shambles I would strongly recommend that you avoid them as well. read more

In my experience, they fully deserve the two five star reviews. I have used them for work at 3 locations and they have consistently done good work at very reasonable prices. The one person who left a very negative review should provide information and Escolera should respond as what was said contradicts not only my experience but that of many other people I know who have used their services. They do a very good job for a very good price. read more
