The "fungus rotted" wood didn't look that bad honestly... the wood structures that looked like they had holes from pests is the one that should have been replaced- it's on the same wood as one of the fungus rotted wood, yet it wasn't replaced. Fraud. We paid thousands of dollars for a heat treatment which not only melted our water filtration system, electrical wiring, bubbled the paint and caused our Subzero fridge to break down, but it didn't even work! This company refused to effectively resolve the ongoing infestation issues and was argumentative and dismissive of our concerns. After 6 weeks of attempting to come to a fair resolution, in which they are entirely unwilling to resolve satisfactorily (even though they are in breach of the warranty), we are seeking legal action. read more

They found some dry rot and old termite damage and took care of all our needs to bring our home back to perfect condition. Their technicians are all professional and very highly skilled. I made an appointment last week, and asked the person on the phone if they'd go under the house to spray - I asked twice to make sure. She said yes. Come today at appointment time, the tech called and asked the address - the one the office person gave him was wrong. He got here and refused to go under the house. I didn't know that it's unnecessary, but the person in the office didn't say that - she just agreed. I asked the tech to call the boss and he said nope, we're not spraying, and he bailed. Which I mean - that's fair, he doesn't need to deal with this. He handled himself fine. The office person though - she lied. If she didn't lie but just got it wrong, why does she not know something that simple? read more

These guys are great. I spent too much time calling all around to different companies yesterday who either didn't answer, would need to call me back, or couldn't help. This was after my wife tried the same and was told they were too swamped by multiple companies. I went on the state licensing boards website, searched for "operators" in Fillmore and Escalera came up. They answered my call in the first few rings, worked with my schedule, and sent a guy out the next day (today). Well maintained truck, young local guy who has a valid field operator's license. They were cheaper than any company that quoted me a price and showed up right on time. The tech, Cody, called me to let me know he was done spraying before taking off. I had two dramatically different experiences Another company which starts with an L and ends with a Z Wanted $18,000+ to do the work for my schedule one I was so shocked at some of the areas they said needed $7,000 in work we're mostly new wood with a little water damage I decided to have a second opinion and called Escalera Fred the owner came out and did his inspection I had a crew working on site so we took care of some of the wood replacement and wood rot using filler under Escalera's supervision So we did do some of the work but My bill from Escalera was $1500 I feel the other company was totally dishonest and disrupted my escrow with bad information and my buyers canceled Escrow They also miss identified the fungus on property It only shows how honest and forthright Escalera pest is compared to the other company Thank you so much Fred I look forward to working with you in the future read more

They seemed to rush through the job without taking proper care of our property. Scheduling a couple of days in advance to stay out of our home for the tenting process was difficult enough so it was not helpful when they gave us warnings at the last minute before the tenting was to take place. They should have emphasized when we set up the appointment that all plants must be far enough from the walls of our home so the tent can be secured to the ground without covering any plants otherwise the plants near the tent will be killed by the gas Also they should have used boards with foam bottoms when they walk on our metal roof . They should have been more careful in dragging the tent over the roof and disconnecting gate doors to limit the damage. They also charged $800 extra for wood repair which consisted of painting two small sections of about 6 x2 inches of wood This seems like a very opportunistic pricing policy My real estate agent recommend this company for the terminaite inspection so I used them for the fumigation but now I would NOT recommend them for either. read more

The people I dealt with at Escalera were courteous and professional. They did some termite repair to my house. The repairmen were on time, did good work and the price was fair. We also had the house tented. We have a tile roof and the workmen who applied and removed the tarps broke many tiles which was maddening but not unexpected. When we were able to re-enter the house, I noticed that the power lines from the power pole to our house had been broken away from the house. I called Escalera and sent in photos of the damage as requested. I received a call back saying that my photos would be forwarded to the fumigation company. Apparently Escalera subcontracts to have the actual fumigation work done. After a few days I had not heard back from any fumigation company so I called and left another message at Escalera. Never heard back. I won't be using them again and now I'm stuck getting the wiring repaired. read more

ZERO rating if I could. They came out on time and found termites in the deck and a little dryrot. I am a licensed contractor. This is what I was expecting. We are putting the property on the market so we needed a termite report. I completely removed the entire deck and replaced with a new deck and also replaced the minor dryrot. I asked them to come out and reinspect, they did and they say all the repairs were done but would NOT give ma a clear report because I did not pay them to fumigate the entire structure. When I took the complaint up the chain of command I was told there were also termites in the home (that was not in the original report) and that is why they would not issue a clear report. Sorry but that was complete BS! I hired Jhonneys Termite to come out and inspect. They did and they found nothing in the way of termites and issued a clean report. I will never do business with Escalera Pest Control again. They are liars. read more

The owner of "Escalera Pest Control" performed a home inspection for us. Rather than probe for any termite damage he proceeded to tear our eves apart only hours before the house was to be shown. He seemed to take great pleasure in ripping the house to shreds. His pompos self righteous attitude stunned me !
