There were many tables available for different colleges, law enforcement, and other apprenticeship opportunities like with GOOGLE! The building itself is beautiful and always kept clean. If you have to attend here make sure to bring a JACKET/ SWEATER! The facility gets extremely COLD!

All the staff members in grey shirts salute you and call you sir when you walk by. They don't seem to do any work though. Just whole bunches of them standing around looking like robots, all staring in the same direction. Weird. But they're harmless if you leave them alone. And they seem to have gotten chubbier over the years...maybe having a nice cafeteria in your work place isn't a great thing... The building itself is ginormous and is very impressive looking. Very clean. But, the entry and exit doors are always broken, allowing the wind to blow right through the complex, completely negating any benefits of a "green" building. Who designed these doors?? The gym is top notch. Much better than my basement. Gym staff all look fit and seem to know what they're talking about. I highly recommend patronizing this place if you have the right credentials, even though they don't really want or need your business. I'd give it 5 stars. But we all know there's plenty of progress to be made. As soon as you call yourself #1, you're done making improvements. That goes for our country as well. Let's get to work!

I was young, I'm not ashamed), and now I have 109 problems. 10 of which are bad arrests. OK I can't back that up, but I can back this up (pdp). I've never had any truly awful experiences with these cops like the ones over in Jackson Heights but I'll tell you what. I have never had anything but nasty vibes from them. I've been loudly, rudely honked at (a couple of times) and yelled at out of car windows just for crossing the street legally (once). And illegally (once). But like, really. Jaywalking. Okay. And a couple of times when we actually needed some help, they were not so friendly. One time he was texting or something on his cellphone and seemed furious that we'd interrupted him. I actually waited a few seconds until he looked like he was done, but still. Thanks bro. I guess cops aren't happy about being direction-providers, but you could just say you're not sure and be nice about it dude. I'm not even remotely surprised that they have such low ratings. And the way in which these particular cops drive around Flushing as if they're trying to mow down as many mere mortals as possible is pretty sick and not in a good way. Police in America have a lot of issues. The militarisation and disconnection from the community is insane. You would hope that in New York City it was a little different but if the Flushing cops are anything to go by it it's really not. I'm hoping to someday start a proper discourse between the community and the police, as I was part of when I lived in England, but it's very different here. The militarisation of the police makes everything much harder. Massive nationwide reform is needed.

The sudden…read moredeath of my sister mean i had to make this trip to start getting some answers and making arrangements. This is how and why I found myself in front of my sisters apartment building, with my suitcase, the temperature dropping, and no idea what to do next. The call had come a few days prior and I found myself speaking to an officer of the 112th Precinct. Unable to even get into the building, and knowing it had been sealed by the police, I headed to the agreeable close station. There the desk Sargent on duty and civilian present (I assume a community service officer) were sympathetic and were able to help me understand what I needed to do to get a court order to enter to get clothing for my sister and go from there. It was a bit of relief to go from unsure to having a mission that I needed to accomplish. 3 days later I was back. This time it was to wait for an officer (or two) to escort me and supervise my time int he apartment) which would be under seal till the court declared me an administrator. They again were friendly, professional, and sympathetic. I would have to wait. Unsaid was that this was not a high priority. So I waited. It took many hours, but they were able to free up 2 officers to head over with me. Again the officers who escorted me were friendly and professional. It was appreciated in this trying time.
