They never solve crimes and unless its murder its considered petty and just shelfed. They will make you do police reports making you think something will be done but if you never call them you will never ever hear from them. They do more harm than good by botching evidence , stalling and running out the clock and divulging private information. By the time they are done you wont be able to do anything with your case and you would have been better off without them. The detective they assigned to me said they had better things to do, closed the case with leads not contacted and the leads they contacted they told all my private biz and the neighbor stopped talking to me. My family and I have filed about 10 reports in the past five years. Zero were solved and only in 2/10 was there even a follow up after the initial report. I highly suggest people forming neighborhood watches, have security cams and look out for each other. These cops have no interest in protecting and serving . They are collecting checks and counting the days to retirement. Stay safe or at least as safe as you can be if this is your precinct

Hopefully, that person's ID was returned to them. The 19th Precinct serves the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The precinct is one of the most densely populated residential areas in Manhattan. The southern part of the precinct has a large commercial area and features Madison, Lexington, and 3rd Avenues, which are well known for their shopping and assorted businesses. I back the blue as I know they don't have an easy job nowadays, especially with the city politics getting involved

We have well over 1400 apartments in Four High Rise buildings. There's definitely multi resident in apartments or you couldn't afford the two bedroom. With the current economy crime may be on the rise but the data shows it's way down in NYC. I'm not sure about my neighborhood so I'm glad NYPD is showing their presence.

The 43rd police department over used their power of being apart of NYPD…read more a dog was rescued from someone that had left their dog tied up outside (they actually gave the dog up face to face as well) & they went and switched everything around & said we stole the dog when we actually didnt. this dog was microchipped but not Registered with an owner, so we called the company and they advised if we wanted to keep the ABANDON dog we would need to put our information on the microchip & we did and they said we are set!, the people actually unregistered their selfs from the dogs microchip 3 MONTHS PRIOR. The people has a family member in the 43rd police department which will be the in a higher rank of officers & they searched up my number & sent a male officer & a female officer to my house and they forcefully took the scared dog & pulled him by his front paws & dragged him towards the front door & the dog was given to previous owner & Dog jumped back & ran back to us to hide. after the dog ran back to me and the female officer forcefully grabbed my dog she proceeds to command the previous owners to come inside without consent & Take the dog. THE 2 OFFICERS WAS ALSO ASKED TO SCAN THE DOG FOR MICROCHIP & THEY SAID WE DONT NEED TO.

The new recruits are friendly, helpful and not intimidating as in the past. I had a couple bad experiences about 10-15 years ago. Now when I ask for information I'm assisted. It's like when you teach a child the policeman is your friend. I wasn't raised that way. I was taught to be afraid of them. I'd be locked up. I still have a fear of imprisonment. Thus my name FreeBird. I try my best to keep the law because of my fear. I thank the police every chance I get these days. We lost 9 to suicide this year. I'm grateful every day that they take the job. They are so very very underpaid! Thank you NYPD. My heart and prayers go with you.
