Wish I remembered to take their names so I could write to the CO. They loved my dog too! Thanks Officers!

I used to have 99 problems and the police weren't one. Then I got arrested 10 times in Flushing…read more(for Flushing... people's heads in toilet bowls... I was young, I'm not ashamed), and now I have 109 problems. 10 of which are bad arrests. OK I can't back that up, but I can back this up (pdp). I've never had any truly awful experiences with these cops like the ones over in Jackson Heights but I'll tell you what. I have never had anything but nasty vibes from them. I've been loudly, rudely honked at (a couple of times) and yelled at out of car windows just for crossing the street legally (once). And illegally (once). But like, really. Jaywalking. Okay. And a couple of times when we actually needed some help, they were not so friendly. One time he was texting or something on his cellphone and seemed furious that we'd interrupted him. I actually waited a few seconds until he looked like he was done, but still. Thanks bro. I guess cops aren't happy about being direction-providers, but you could just say you're not sure and be nice about it dude. I'm not even remotely surprised that they have such low ratings. And the way in which these particular cops drive around Flushing as if they're trying to mow down as many mere mortals as possible is pretty sick and not in a good way. Police in America have a lot of issues. The militarisation and disconnection from the community is insane. You would hope that in New York City it was a little different but if the Flushing cops are anything to go by it it's really not. I'm hoping to someday start a proper discourse between the community and the police, as I was part of when I lived in England, but it's very different here. The militarisation of the police makes everything much harder. Massive nationwide reform is needed.

I went back 1 week later and the officer told me fill up some papers. never give me a copy. wen back to pick a report and give me a clean slip to call back for the complaint report. calling several time and no body answer. finally got someone and she pass me the report number. Now, the slip has no dates, address or type of crime writing. I write de complaint number. And that's is all? . I request a copy of my complaint, she told me they don't give it!

The sudden…read moredeath of my sister mean i had to make this trip to start getting some answers and making arrangements. This is how and why I found myself in front of my sisters apartment building, with my suitcase, the temperature dropping, and no idea what to do next. The call had come a few days prior and I found myself speaking to an officer of the 112th Precinct. Unable to even get into the building, and knowing it had been sealed by the police, I headed to the agreeable close station. There the desk Sargent on duty and civilian present (I assume a community service officer) were sympathetic and were able to help me understand what I needed to do to get a court order to enter to get clothing for my sister and go from there. It was a bit of relief to go from unsure to having a mission that I needed to accomplish. 3 days later I was back. This time it was to wait for an officer (or two) to escort me and supervise my time int he apartment) which would be under seal till the court declared me an administrator. They again were friendly, professional, and sympathetic. I would have to wait. Unsaid was that this was not a high priority. So I waited. It took many hours, but they were able to free up 2 officers to head over with me. Again the officers who escorted me were friendly and professional. It was appreciated in this trying time.
