I came in here to get a police report on 1/10/2014. They didn't have the accident ready and the lady who was working in the office apologized and gave me a number to call to make sure I didn't waste my time coming in to check everyday to see if it was ready. Called the station, daily, in the morning to see if it was ready and each time the officer on the phone was very polite and told me to call them the next day because my report wasn't ready. Finally when I called on 1/16 in the morning, they had my report and told me I could come any time to go pick it up. He told me to remember my report number and told me that I needed a 10 dollar money order to go pick it up (make sure you have a money order - they will not accept any checks or cash). When I went to pick up my report I sat there for maybe 10 minutes and Officer Scott helped me out and got me my receipt and gave me my accident report without any problem. Besides the fact that the report wasn't ready in 3 days like the officer in the scene of the accident had told me, my interactions with the officers in the precinct was very excellent. Also the officers who arrived at the scene of the accident were great too. They made a horrible situation into an easy one to handle - I wish I wrote down their names to give me them credit for making things so easy. Hopefully I never have to come again to a police station for an accident report, but if I do I hope I get the same attention that I received in this precinct. read more

my car was stolen about two weeks ago and I called these guys to follow report at 10:15 AM. They didn't show up until between 4:30 and 5:30 PM. That shit is crazy because if they had shown up in 10 to 20 minutes from when I called, they would've been able to get my info into their my car would've popped that stolen when it was given a showed no urgency whatsoever and when the cops came and I described my didn't even care to put it into police report. is why cops are hated. You guys do not respect people and it's crazy because we pay your salary through our taxes I wish these people would have some respect others even if my dilemma isn't as severe as somebody being I would appreciate it if somebody would've came as soon as possible instead of dragging it on for 7 hours having me call time and time again realistically I probably won't get my car back because these people don't even care to look for it. I even let them know that there was a few cameras where it was given a ticket in Manhattan, but they don't care. Great experience with2 officers who visited me at home after I reported theft of my wallet and driver's license. Although not an emergency, they arrived quickly and took my statement. I used to have 99 problems and the police weren't one. Then I got arrested 10 times in Flushing (for Flushing... people's heads in toilet bowls... I was young, I'm not ashamed), and now I have 109 problems. 10 of which are bad arrests. OK I can't back that up, but I can back this up (pdp). I've never had any truly awful experiences with these cops like the ones over in Jackson Heights but I'll tell you what. I have never had anything but nasty vibes from them. I've been loudly, rudely honked at (a couple of times) and yelled at out of car windows just for crossing the street legally (once). And illegally (once). But like, really. Jaywalking. Okay. And a couple of times when we actually needed some help, they were not so friendly. One time he was texting or something on his cellphone and seemed furious that we'd interrupted him. I actually waited a few seconds until he looked like he was done, but still. Thanks bro. I guess cops aren't happy about being direction-providers, but you could just say you're not sure and be nice about it dude. I'm not even remotely surprised that they have such low ratings. And the way in which these particular cops drive around Flushing as if they're trying to mow down as many mere mortals as possible is pretty sick and not in a good way. Police in America have a lot of issues. The militarisation and disconnection from the community is insane. You would hope that in New York City it was a little different but if the Flushing cops are anything to go by it it's really not. I'm hoping to someday start a proper discourse between the community and the police, as I was part of when I lived in England, but it's very different here. The militarisation of the police makes everything much harder. Massive nationwide reform is needed. read more

These officers are overworked, underpaid and not appreciated, they are dealing with people who often do not care and are lawless. Hard working and law abiding citizens appreciate what they do and realize that these cops and NYPD in general are not supported. They do the best they can with what they have. Called 311 to report noisy neighbors because they were having loud, live karaoke music playing in their backyard. Although it was reported anonymous, the officer called and asked to be more understanding of fellow NYC residents. It was past 10 PM and the loud music was subject to NYC Quiet Law. The police officer said that there is nothing he can do. As I am writing this review and the time is 12:09AM, the neighbors are still playing loud music. What is the point of having useless, incompetent police officers who do not take any actions? How can you let the mass suffer because if an unruly resident who decided to have a weekend party outside, especially when you have people who are sick, working the next day and some who are pregnant? The police officer who responded to this incident is very incompetent and is racially biased against those who are not Hispanic. read more

I put one star here only because I still believe there are good police officers in this precinct. When I encountered a problem and went to my local precinct to file a report as a victim, I expected to get valuable advices of what further actions I could take, but not being a victim again by being judged by a police officer saying I'm stupid. When I went to a police station to file a report, I expected them to treat me like an educated adult, but not criticizing me if I really knew what online phishing was. After I went back and forth between this police station and my bank several times, and finally got the documents they needed, I only expected them to file the report, but not finally told me that they would not file the report because they would not able to catch the criminal. Why no one told me that in the first place? There is a very nice 109 Precinct facebook page where they posted all the nice pictures and praising, but no single one dare come to this page to answer all the complaints we have with them. They are not police officers. They are a bunch of bullies. It is simply disgusting me when I see some of them have NYPD uniforms on. What a shame! read more

This is NOT a friendly place to go, and I feel incredibly sorry for you if you're ever forced to come to this location. If you're asian, and the translator isn't there, come back another time. seriously. If you see an old asian woman with a bad china doll haircut, turn around, leave and come back when someone else is there. This woman will not help you at all. She will roll her eyes at you, move at the speed of a turtle and act as if she were doing you a favor by doing her job. I had to go there to get fingerprinted for a govt job. I think I would have had better luck going to an actual govt agency in dc than here. The old asian woman was busy looking at pictures online, surfing the web, and reading the newspaper. Yeah while I was waiting, I turned around from where I was sitting and got a great view of her looking at pictures online. I told the previous lady what I was there for. I went back and told this new asian lady with the bad china doll bowl hair cut, and she said I had to wait. 4+ hours later, I was pretty frustrated and annoyed. The old asian woman reading the newspaper actually said, oh I forgot. She didn't remind me she was here. WTF?! Why don't you try DOING YOUR JOB!!! It is NOT my responsibility to remind you every 15 min what I'm here for. The fact that you have time to look at pictures online and read the newspaper and go around asking for a newspaper shows that you obviously have too much free time on your hands AND should be able to remind ONE thing. Apparently not. How does this woman even have a job? Your sole job is to direct people to where they should go, but even then its too much of a hassle for you. Please leave, and let someone else who can remember a thought in their head work there and save us some tax dollars! I will say that, there was 1 person in the complaint office working to get through all the people there. ONE person working with crowd of people waiting. He was pretty nice and went to look and ask for someone who could do fingerprinting. His name was Horace, and he is the ONLY nice, sane person there who can do their job efficiently. Please be nice because they are all over worked, and trying to get you out of there as fast as possible. The police officer who finally finger printed me was also very nice and friendly and apologized for the massive wait. Horrible police precinct. You call them and call them and no one answers the phone at the building. A bunch of lazy people work there especially at the front desk. You can see accidents happen and their cops drag their butts coming to the scene as well. read more

I know that police can sometimes be, um, cool to outsiders, but the two civilian workers and two police officers that I had to talk to were accomodating, professional, and helpful. Went in to get my car inspected from a ticket for my car. Got in and out in less than 5 minutes. Friendly officers and professional.

Went there last night 7/15/17 to file a police report on an accident, as soon as I walk into the police station, all of the cops were drunk..it smelled of marijuana and all the officer said was " email the accident report we don't take those in person anymore" he was slurring while he was speaking to me and had one hand behind his back hiding a small liquor bottle he did not want me to see. His uniform was all messed up and he did not have badge or name tag on. I am appalled that the safety of flushing/ Whitestone/ northern blvd residents depend on these belligerent so called "officers". read more

I hope you never have the need to deal with any of the officers or staff of this police precinct. I'd heard stories about how badly they treat people--especially Asians--and unfortunately got the opportunity to discover first hand it's not just Asians. They treat everybody like crap! It was a simple matter, really. Just had to pick up a copy of a police report of a traffic accident for my insurance company. That took two hours for no reason other than they couldn't be bothered. They did, however, have plenty of time to display that police department "attitude"--the one that dictates that if you're a "civilian" you're treated like a leper and not worth their time, interest or effort. I read that this precinct recently received a new commander. I hope he's not more of the same. I never particularly disliked cops. But after my experiences (two) with the ones at this precinct I can certainly now understand the people who do. read more

The officers does not show any manner and impolite. I had a minor car accident, and it took them nearly 3 hours to arrive. It took me about two weeks to get the accident report number. They are simply rude and lazy. I felt meaningless to pay tax money to feed these incompetent officers. read more

I called 911 to report my daughter missing. 2 hours later, I'm calling again because no one has shown up to take the report. When I spoke to the second 911 operator, he stated that it was submitted and that he will update the ticket so that it will route to the nearest precinct. When asked which one ... It was the 109th. I have no issues with 911 operator however I don't understand how it takes more than 2 hours to get a police officer to come to your aid. Maybe I should have said I was shot (God forbid). Maybe that would have caused them to come running to my rescue.... Or maybe not. Who knows!!! I get it! Maybe there's a lot of crimes happening out there in the city but if I'm telling you that my child is missing, I would hope that the police would take that seriously. 3 hours has passed and still nothing!!! read more

I had an incident at my home which required me contacting the local police department. Although it was not an emergency, the 109th Precient sent three officers to my home in an expeditious manner. The officers who responded were professional, helpful and respectful. Great experience with the NYPD. read more

Not a bad precinct. Cops could respond a little faster. I called them for an accident i had and we waited probably 45 minutes before they showed up, it was a minor accident with no one hurt, maybe that is why. They did the report pretty quick and we were on our way. Officers were helpfull. read more

Terrible service! I went for fingerprints. They asked to wait without letting ask anything. After waiting for 50 minutes, I approached one of the many policemen and the guy asked if I brought a fingerprint card and a $25 money order. How am I suppose to know that if they provide the information from the beginning. It was a wasted of my time. If feels like these people don't even want to be there. Got pulled over in flushing. Of course I couldn't understand why. Turns out I made a turn from Roosevelt Ave. to Main Street n it's illegal. I couldn't believe it. I know, I know, read the signs. But when? With all the traffic and people throwing themselves into the street n in front of u? Anyway, the PO came to my car window n asked if I knew y I got pulled over. Of course I said no, at which time he explained, nicely, that I made an illegal turn onto Main Street. I told him I wasn't aware of it n that I'd been doing it all week bringing my daughter to the subway station for summer classes she's taking at hunter. I apologized profusely n said I'll never do it again. I laughed bc I couldn't believe u was breaking the law all week. I couldn't believe I'd been stopped. It's never happened in 43 years of driving. However, the PO was polite, courteous, and caring. He let me go with a warning without asking for ID. N he apologized for having to stop me!!!!! REALLY!! I know, I know! Who would a thunk it???????
