I've been a Bayside/Auburndale resident for almost 6 years and I must say that the 111 pct has the most courteous and professional officers that I've dealt with, not to mention a very quick response time. Unfortunately, a loved one was recently arrested and the officers were extremely compassionate and helpful. Even allowing the use of their phone. From the lieutenant that I dealt with about 2 years ago for an incident, a traffic stop with my father to the most recent mishap with a loved one getting arrested, all of the officers have shown fairness and professionalism to the highest degree even when the civilians were in the wrong. I can't express how thankful I am to live in an area where the precinct is full of overall good people that still continue to show kindness and understanding despite the negativity going on throughout the city. read more

Recently my car was broken into in front of my house. There was nothing of any significant value inside and I imagine I left the door unlocked as there was no damage to the lock or window. Still, while I felt a little embarrassed to take the time away from the work of the police to make a report, I just felt it was my responsible to inform authorities about crime, even minor, in the neighborhood. When i went to the precinct, I was greeted and assisted by PAA Plutonski. I just want to express my thanks for the attention she gave me and the professional manner she displayed when taking my report. She took my report seriously even when I had informed her it was indeed a minor criminal act. This experience, albeit a small example, really did reinforce for me that the members of the 111th care about our community. Thank you for your service. read more

Horrible precinct. Officers couldn't care less about issues you have. They just want to blow you off with BS. No interest in doing the job they were hired to do. I am very appreciative to the officers that take their jobs seriously and protect our community. But have no tolerance for those that just can't be bothered. The worst cops and precinct I've ever encountered. Especially officer dussel and his team. He yelled at my 6 year old nephew for no reason, he is horrible at speaking and very rude. Becoming a cop is too easy and that is why these people with no education or college degree become cops. There needs to be more requirements to become a cop, because cops like him who are so uneducated is terrifying to have to rely on for "keeping this city safe." All of these cops are not only rude, uneducated (even about the law!!), but are out of shape. How am I supposed to expect a cop to "save me or keep me safe" when he is out of breath within 1 minute from walking out of his car. Things need to change now. read more

I was involved in accident last week in Astoria the confine of the 114 precinct. When NYPD arrived to the scene they did what they had to do no more and no less. However, the officers at the 111 precinct were way helpful, more willing to assist and yes they were very courteous, professional and fast to get me in and out of the precinct. I had called the 111 to see if the police report was there and the Operator got me connected to the person who handles automobile accident reports. Within a minute they confirmed I could come in and pick it up free of charge and with a smile. I walked into the service desk and the female officer at the service desk asked me for my report number and in less then 5 minutes I had it and I was able to provide it to my insurance agent. Again, all done with a smile. While I know NYPD has to face thousands of calls and deal with all types of individuals, it is highly appreciated that the entire staff at the 111th precinct is really going out of their way to make the neighborhood in Bayside a better place. Really makes me feel that my local precinct is making the difference, Thank you to all the officers of the 111. My respect to you all. read more

Wow and I'm the guy that's left five one star reviews for other police precincts in New York City. I am just so blown away with the courtesy and professionalism of this particular precinct, I have had three incidents recently where I had to get the assistance of police in Bayside and the one 11th was nothing but extremely helpful courteous and patient with me. I chose to go there at night after I was unable to secure a police report from my local precinct, the 105th. The officer who took my report was understanding, calm, courteous and professional. I was being threatened by someone who was scamming me on eBay - he lives in Kentucky and wrote me that he would have friends pay me a visit - I was fearful and printed out all his messages and went to the precinct last night to file a harassment complaint - The officer at the desk treated me so rudely - I showed her the messages - she told me I should not have responded to his messages. Then told me to sit down. She comes over with another officer who also told me I shouldn't have responded to his messages and I told him I felt threatened - he said there was nothing they could do - then - he asked me if I had been drinking. As if I would go into a police station after I had been drinking - it was 5:30 at night. read more

there is a reason why cops themselves call this "heaven in one-eleven" --- it is a nice area, safe neighborhood, not much goes on (i mean murders and violent crimes). yes there are break-ins while owners are out (mainly to steal whatever is valuable inside). as with any police station, if there is no one hurt, they take their time. so if it is accident between cars, and no ambulance is called, then they will take a while to show up. but in responding to 911 calls they are pretty fast, and many units show up at a time. as drivers, just be careful of the new speed limit (25mph), do not run red lights, no illegal u-turns, and no parking in handicapped spots and you should be fine. read more

I give these officers 5 stars for the wonderful treatment toward my family and help with the safe return of my 82 year old father, who has Alzheimer's, who went missing in his car this weekend. After coming to the house, getting photos and relevant information, license plate # and car information, a Silver Alert was issued in the NY area. In particular, my family would like to commend Detective Gannon, who went above and beyond, including returning to the precinct on his off time, to complete the search for my confused and lost father, who was missing almost 24 hours. If not for the hard work of the fine police team at the 111th, my father's story may have had a completely different outcome. He was returned safe and sound, and is getting psychiatric evaluations at the hospital to assess his Alzheimer's Disease. Thank you!!! read more

I went to three different Precincts and explained my situation with my vehicle and the damage from the concrete. All three OTHER Precincts offered to make a Police Report for criminal mischief without me prompting them to do so. I truly just want to live in a district where the Police honor their oath and provide the service that is expected from them. I'm sorry that I get upset sometimes and call you guys thugs or gang members but we can both agree I only resort to that after you as a Precinct prove to be disrespectful and boldly neglect your duties. Every other Precinct has positive reviews and a lot of thankful residents complimenting the excellent service they receive. I truly believe most 111th Officers want to be respected and admired by the public they serve but the leadership there has consistently failed at being a good example. It's truly sad. Notice how I respect Officers enough to capitalize the "O" in Officer... just not at the 111th. Please make changes. read more

AWFUL Experience with this precinct . I had to call them twice because of unfortunate events . The first time the cops lied to me and told me I was obligated to press charges because I had called them even though I repeatedly told them I didn't want to . Due to this neighborhood being safe, they have nothing better to do but harass the people who live in the neighborhood. When my son was attending Holy Cross High School and Queens College he would take the bus to school everyday and everyday there would be a police officer at the bus stop who would stop and frisk him making him late to class. He was frisked hundreds of times and they never found anything on him. But they would write down his name, address and drivers license number. When he finally got a car I thought that the police harassment would end. But I was wrong, they started pulling him over randomly saying he didn't use his blinker to change lanes or some other ridiculous excuse. They would search his car, they even handcuffed him once and made him sit on the curb while they tore apart his entire car. Not once did they find anything and they never even wrote him a ticket. But my son has become really depressed as a result of the harassment. He would say he was afraid to leave the house because he just never knew when they would violate him. Once they get your name and info they will continue to viciously harass you. He plans on moving out of this neighborhood as soon as he can, just so he can live peacefully. He has no criminal record at all, but we live in constant fear that eventually they will set him up because they seem so hell bent on making his life hell. read more
