I stopped by NYC Pizza and grabbed a slice of their supreme. I like that you can either order by the slice or get a whole pizza, so it's pretty convenient depending on how hungry you are. I went with a slice, and it was straight-up that classic NYC-style pizza. Big, thin slice that you can actually fold, with a crust that had just the right amount of crisp on the outside but still soft and chewy. It wasn't floppy or soggy either, which I appreciate. The sauce had a nice, slightly sweet tomato flavor, and the cheese was melted perfectly stretchy and not overly greasy. The toppings were solid too. It had a good mix on there meats and veggiesand they didn't go overboard, so every bite felt balanced instead of overloaded. You could actually taste everything instead of it just blending into one thing. The place itself was clean, which always matters, and they had two different seating areas so you've got options if you want to sit and eat instead of just grabbing it to go. The service was great as well. Overall, it was a really good slice. Nothing crazy fancy, just a legit, well-made NYC-style supreme done right. Definitely a spot I'd go back to. read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch first time last week. We each got a slice and one of their Jamaican meat pies. I loved my pepperoni and mushroom slice, it was very thin and crispy, served hot! The first couple of bites of the meat pie were good but I got a third bite that had an overpowering seasoning that kind of turned me off of the rest. Next time I would ask for extra mushrooms on mine. It's counter service so you walk up and see what they have and they run it through the oven to heat, so I would think throwing a few mushrooms on it wouldn't be hard. I did not like their ranch, but their pizza sauce was really good, not sweet at all. They could use a dining room refresh, it looks a little depressing. NYC Pizza is a pretty simple pizza parlor. I ordered two slices of the pizza that was already made, one with meats and one with everything, and they were both great. Add a drink and it was plenty for me. When I walked in the young man behind the counter immediately went for help. I could tell by looking at him that he needed help with the language. It turns out he's from Mexico and still learning English. My Spanish is no muy bueno, so it was better for him to get the manager. But everyone was very nice and helpful. And the pizza was delicious. I don't get to Tulsa very often but it's nice to have another place to add to my list of good restaurants. read more

I have tried almost everything at NYC Pizza, except the desserts and salad. The only dessert I've tried is the tiramisu which was alright, but these items are not why you go to NYC Pizza. One would go to NYC Pizza is of course for their pizza. I would say that NYC Pizza is too "thin" for me. It could have been a little thicker, but it's good and quite cheap. My favorite item from NYC Pizza used to be the calzone, but now it's the patties. It's like a mini calzone with a crunchier crust and the inside is almost the same with less ingredients. It's so delicious. Unlike the pizza slices which can be ready in a few minutes, patties took almost as long as a calzone. If you decide to get them, be prepare for some wait time, but it will be worth it, I promise. read more

The owner of NY style pizza is an awful human being. I heard someone yelling and cursing at the employees, who looked completely demoralized. I walked over to see what was going on. Tuns out it was the owner being abusive to his employees. He asked what I needed, and I responded that I was curious about who was yelling and cursing. He said, "I'm from NYC, and we're different." I told him I've been to NYC and went back to the table. He came out of the kitchen and immediately said, "Do I need to ask you to leave, I can get a box?" Things devolved from there. Our response was to leave. As we left he said I needed to mind my business. I pointed out how abusive and racist he was being. I said to the employees, "I hope you find a better place to work." Nothing fancy but good pizza. I actually live in Arkansas but visit Tulsa every few weeks to shop at the stores we don't have. If I'm only coming for a few hours I always make it a point to pop into this little pizza shop. We don't have good "NY style" pizza in NWA, and while I wouldn't call this 100% authentic it is good enough that I come time and time again. I LOVE that they do slices as well as the fact that they have ricotta. Ricotta is my favorite pizza topping and 99% of pizza restaurants do not carry it. So not my first time here and not my all time fav but when you want a slice for lunch this beats those pizza chains for sure. I would rank this a 5, but we got the calzone and the sauce was a bit watery vs sauce... what got the best points was the calzone... the exact amount of cheese, meat, and ricotta cheese... I like the balance and not when they over do one or another... they also seem to have some red flakes in the sauce and I'm not a red flake fan.. I ended up later finding some menus on their facebook page it looked like a customer uploaded but it was not current pricing. I asked for a menu in the store and they didn't have any to give me and said i could just take a picture which is uploaded here. 7/28/23. Pizza was mediocre at best and will probably not return. The cost to benefit did not warrant a repeat business as competition provides better service, better pizza, competitive pricing, and more for your dollar. Ordered the cheesy bread, an XL Combo Pizza with half anchovies, a slice of cheese cake, and a slice of tiramisu. It seemed a little pricey, $43 total, but I miss this aspect of NY, so had to give it a try. We couldn't wait until we got home to try, so my wife and I both tried a "slice" of the cheesy bread. This is by far the most authentic NY style pizza in Tulsa. It's also one of the more affordable pizza options we've found here, which makes for a great combination if you ask me. This place has become our go-to for Friday night pizza night. We also love their cannolis, and the garden salad is huge and completely sharable for two or three people if you're also eating pizza. That said, I would recommend ordering dressing on the side. We tried the caesar salad once and it was super overdressed. Dressing on the side = problem solved.
