Empire Slice House came highly recommended by many. An iconic pizzeria in the Arts District, it's spacious with quirky murals on the walls. The staff are friendly and walk you through their extensive pizza and beer menu. You can order whole pizzas or by the slice. They rotate the slices you can buy, but always have three- cheese, pepperoni, and Notorious P.I.G. (aka meat lover's). I got all three. To be honest, I thought the pizza is average, but their "pink sauce" is so good. It's very loose, but tasty! For that, four stars!

Perfect location next to Cain's. We were able to grab a slice after an event. It was mostly great. Some of my piece had too strong of a burnt taste. Price is a little high IMO as well but overall a good experience.

My husband and I popped in for a quick bite while we were out running some errands and heard some great things about Empire! And were they right :) we would give a 4.5 if we could! Caleb was our server and was very attentive, kind, and checked in with how everything was going. We had a small misunderstanding with our pizza (our faults) and Caleb and the team made sure we were quickly taken care of! The manager offered us some garlic knots which were amazing and the pizza was just as good! We ordered the Uncle Buck. We also got to try a slice of their featured pizza, the Midnight Cowboy, and it looked delicious! Really grateful for the wonderful service, awesome atmosphere and good food!

We loved the vibe of this place!! As soon as we walked in, I knew it would be good. It smells incredible and it tasted even better. We will be back for sure! Best part is, this is right next to Cain's Ballroom

I met two friends here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. We got the lunch special and our pizza and salads were good. What I loved so much was our service! I was able to bring my dog to the back patio and our server was so sweet to her. She even brought her water and a bowl of chicken for her. I really like the pizza here but even more so I love the kind employees!

My spouse and I went empire pizza for the first time today. They love pizza and unwanted take them to a different pizza place for our Valentine's outing. We arrived at 6:20pm February 12th. Was told there be a 30-40 minute wait which was fine. About 30 minutes later we were seated. We order two pizza and order was put in at 7:04. After waiting about 40 minutes I asked for a eta. Our waitress told us that kitchen messed up and the order was just being made. She said she talk to her manager about a discount but I explained we had a 9:00 movie so I asked how long. About 15 minutes later our pizza comes out. Once it cooled enough to eat we ate two pieces then had to go. However we waited and waited for her to come back so we could get some to go boxes. She took the pizza and instead of getting bigger boxes she crammed it into smaller box making a complete mess of our leftover pizzas. She then comes back and brings the ticket. No discount, ( I didn't have time to wait for a manager at this point we were now going to already be ,5 minutes late to the movie). Anyways it takes another 10 minutes to come get our card to take payment as she was more worried about other tables even knowing we had to go. Once she finally came back she disappeared for another ,5 minutes before returning. Honestly service was horrible, pizza was mediocre at best (mine was soggy doughy). I always tip can't remember the last time I didn't but I honestly did not leave one. Our night and plans for Valentine's was ruined by the time we got out of there and the food and service just wasn't that great. I would not recommend this place nor will I go back.

We popped into the restaurant on a Thursday evening while a concert was about to open next door at Cain's. We walked right in, we were greeted promptly and requested to sit at the bar. The bartender was excellent. He was attentive, had good conversation and seemed like a really genuine person. First time someone behind the bar has had opinions on the NA beers. It was so nice to be able to suggest brands back and forth and what we liked etc. The music was just right, loud enough to catch the beat but not so loud you can't hear each other. Bathroom was clean, restaurant was clean overall. Now to the pizza! I tried it for the first time Monday & was stoked I found my self there for more pizza on Friday! I've never had a slice like the M.C.A. it was outstanding! I ate every bite. The crust was cooked to perfection, the pizza wasn't greasy. I'm not much on sauce with my pizza but my husband had traditional ranch and tried the pink sauce that is made in house and has ranch and sriracha flavor. He said it was pretty good! I will be back and will definitely tell people about it!

There is metered street parking available in front of the restaurant. We were seated quickly as it wasn't super busy mid week. Our waitress was alright not overly friendly and did try and turn the table quickly even though there were plenty of tables available. There is only one size gluten free option and there is vegan cheese. I tried the spicy Marina sauce and it was quite good with a decent kick. That was probably the best part, the spicy sauce. I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, the dressing was yummy. I would go back for the salad.

Not sure how I feel about this location, I love Empire but this was the worst one I've eaten at. Service was not the best and the pizza dough did not taste fresh like the other ones even though I know they make it fresh and ingredients tasted weird to me. Even my significant other was not impressed with the pizza almost like they didn't know what ingredients go on the evil empire. She thought she had bell peppers in it. Don't think I will come back to this location.

Tried the RBG slice and it was amazing! I love coming here for the lunch special during the week. They are usually pretty quick and the service is usually really good! The restaurant is well kept and great decor!

Much like Ava June, everything is a little funky here--not in a bad way, just different and unique. We started with cocktails; she had her usual Old Fashioned, but ordered it as a "normal", with Makers Mark, I had a glass of chardonnay (subtotal $28). She put her Makers Mark Old Fashioned near the top of the best in town ($2 extra for Makers??). We frequently split meals, so decided to share a Little Gems salad, which was VERY good. There are only a few salads in town that I like as it's just not my thing, but this one was super tasty. For our pizza we went with the limited edition Cubano as I love a good Cuban sandwich and have a tomato allergy. They did a good job of converting a sandwich to a pizza, though I thought the toppings were a little sparse for $22. I would have preferred that the pickles have been chopped into something smaller than the thick slices it came with (so it LOOKED beautiful). The best part for me is that they offer a fresh-made GLUTEN-FREE rosemary dough!!!! It was absolutely THE BEST gluten-free crust I've ever experienced hands down. My wife said that she would order it even though it's g-f. The vibe was just good, pretty crowded with a mix of generations. The space is fairly small and tight, so be prepared for the possibility of sharing a table. So if you followed the math above (which should be easy if you knew me!) it was $65 plus tax and tip, so $100 for a pizza and salad dinner.... Would I go back?? I wouldn't rule it out given the fantastic gluten-free crust, but would likely consider somewhere else that I consider a better value before beating a path back to Lofi.
