We have been coming to Umberto's since he opened and it's still the best New York style pizza in Tulsa. Moses puts all of his love and attention into his food and it never disappoints. Every pizza joint in the world will have its off day due to different employees, but this place is consistently delicious. We like Umberto's pizza, but today I did a carry out order and when I walked in to Umberto's the temperature inside must've been 90° plus. Just imagine walking into a pizza shop with pizza ovens blasting away and no AC. Yep it was hot. The other problem was when I called and placed the order I was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. So here I am sitting in this steam bath 15 minutes longer than that. Once I got the pizza and opened it, it was missing one of the ingredients that I had requested. I love the pizza but on this visit I'm sorry I've got to give it two stars for the intolerably hot interior of the restaurant, the delay in having my pizza ready on time . Glad I got a carry out rather than having to sit inside this oven to eat my pizza. But as I said, the pizza is great. read more

Popped in today right when they opened and ordered a meat slice. Arrived at my table piled high with toppings. Not overly saucy, which is great because I tend to order my pizzas with "light sauce". They post menus with prices that are 15% less, them charge a service fee on top of their already misrepresented price. They pointed right at the menu after I caught it and they told me those prices were out of date. I advised they should take them down since they are not correct. They turned around and walked off so they could do it to the next customer.it was taped to the podium and could have been updated with a pen and paper. Medium Supreme price from the menu was $12.75, and $15.00. Actual price was $19.97 with adders. They should honor the posted menu when they acknowledge an error. the prices were an additional 18.5% being added. I don't mind paying for it if they were upfront. Food is good, customer focus sucks. Ok so this is a serious slice of pizza. I can't say t is my all time fav as there is something about the sauce that just needs some small adjustment but... this can definitely be a weekly visit or a man size box to feed an army or a game! Price is just spot on as well if not more than what you get at those crappy chains... So did I mention fresh and they even put that heated up toppings when you stop by for lunch? Ya boy! And if u get the supreme you really just need one slice.... Oh and get the calzone... split it with a friend and get a slice... pretty legit! I found myself in Tulsa for the weekend and was looking for an indie pizza spot to feed 4. For starters, Google maps kept showing this place was across the street from where it actually is. Weird but that's not necessarily their fault so that has no bearing on my review. I placed a phone order for pickup and arrived 15 minutes later after being told it would be 15-20 minutes. Once inside, I walked up to the counter and there were 2 guys working. One kept passing me to grab stuff from a fridge and said nothing. He looked at me several times without nary a word like hi or we'll be right with you. A few awkward minutes pass and the other guy finally approaches me. He said it would be a few more minutes - no biggie. When I get my pizzas which were both XL pepperoni, one looked perfectly cooked and the other looked orange. The pizza tasted ok when we first got back but reheating made them gross and exploited the weird overly salted cheese rubber. I took my time to reheat on the stovetop and they were barely edible. I will probably never find myself in Tulsa again but if I do, I'll be trying a different indie spot and hoping for better. read more

I used to LOVE Umberto's. I'd find any reason to swing order from them, but lately I've been disappointed. The most annoying thing is that they are always wrong about how long an order will take to make. The order is never ready when they say it will be. Waited so loooong to try this place. Right over on Harvard & in that rare occasion I hadn't cooked, hubby said he was headed that way, order & he'd pick it up. I love pizza! Thank you, hubby! The picture below is of the pepperoni/ pineapple pizza I ordered. NOT! I hate Canadian bacon. & I didn't like it. So furious I called. He remembered my order ( too bad hubby's so trusting & didn't check). I informed him of what I actually got & I could hear his frustration. Someone just fulfilled the order by rote. About an hour later (we were starved and ate some of the other one), they rightfully delivered what we'd ordered. Took way too long. No longer hungry. Frustrated, disappointed. for the past year, i thought umberto's always had 2 locations. i come to find out, i went to the original location before they closed/relocated. like the old location, things haven't changed (in a good way). i got a slice of the all meats (pepperoni, ham, sausage, etc). the slice was so big & piled with toppings, i couldn't even eat the pizza new york style (when you fold it). this was the first time in history that i had to purposely eat a slice with a fork & knife. it didn't hurt to add the garlic seasoning &/or the italian seasoning as well. the wait for my slice wasn't long, i could say the same for the 14" pepperoni that was ordered as well. plenty of options to choose from, whether you choose their signatures or you make your own. slice or whole pizza, you'll be satisfied. read more

Umberto's is a good local pizzeria with fresh ingredients. The place is fairly small and can probably fit 20-25 people at most but they also deliver and you can order take out as well. We had family members taking us there for the first time recently and it was a good experience. We had the Supreme 12" pizza and added a few toppings to it. The ingredients were fresh and you can see the owner Mose and his staff prepare the dough in front of you. You can tell Mose is passionate about pizza and his customers. The New-York Style pizza served here are extremely satisfying! The menu is fairly simple, make your own pizza with the toppings available. The variety of topping is pretty decent. We saw many customers ordering take out that night, the pizza are made when you order so it may take a little time for it but definitely worth the wait! read more

Sometimes you have to look at just how frequently you visit someplace and bump up that rating. I realized I needed to do this when they started remembering my name by what I order. Had I read the reviews before we came here, we wouldnt have eaten here just because of the answers to comments by a representative of Umbertos. Any negative comment was answered rudely and very disrespectfully. But I didn't and wish I had. We ordered 2 20' pizzas. We had a Canadian bacon & pineapple and a supreme. The pineapple and mushrooms weren't drained so both of our pizzas we soggy. We couldn't even pick up the slices to eat them, we had to use a knife and fork. While we did ask for light sauce, when we got them we couldn't find any sauce at all on either pizza. There were plenty of toppings and the pizza had great flavor. The establishment is very run down and we saw lots of ants around the pop machine and at window seals which run beside the tables. First set of garlic knots were burned so they remade them. Wouldn't say this would ever be a place I would return to or recommend. read more

I would personally not come back here. My husband is originally from New York born and raised there. His family has ran several pizzerias in the areas. The pizza is so soggy, flavorless, and with TONS of flour on the bottom of the pizza. they said they sell by the slice but I don't see any display of showing the pizzas.
